  1. It's a good point - any of the bottom 7 would have a match on their hands against any of the current top 4 in the Championship. Just goes to show how competitive an extended premiership could be! I'm not that worried yet. Many of the past 10 years have seen at least one club cut adrift by now, I don't see that happening at any stage this season. Just need a couple of wins on the bounce and you're in the top 6 - we do have the ability to do that.
  2. I wonder if 12th Man put a spread bet on Philadelphia
  3. That was a truly excellent away day... Crowd stats are crucial - we need them for Gringo's NPL!!!!!
  4. Can she join you every week please Robert? ...and we're only 2 points off top six!
  5. I'm quite happy not being considered as serious challengers - our best opportunities will come with being underestimated and unfancied. By the time the opposition realise what a threat we are, we could be well on our way to bagging another trophy and be sitting nicely in a European slot again.
  6. I quite like the look of the revamped Challenge (Irn-Bru) Cup, and the inclusion of the Welsh and Irish teams later will be very interesting. Along with the new look League Cup, it's a bold move by the SPFL to freshen up the formats. I'm now looking forward to their next step forward to regenerate fan interest - a league restructure with a 16-team premiership!
  7. As a boyhood Rangers fan I have no love for Celtic football club (thankfully I evolved to have no love for either of them) but I find it difficult to take any pleasure from this result. It has to be the most embarrassing and shameful result for any Scottish team, club or national, in the history of our game - and that takes some beating! Never mind 5 goals, I think Brendan needs 7, 8 or 9+ to restore some of the damage caused to our country's footballing reputation.
  8. Tonight we've been drinking Einstok Icelandic White Ale that we got from Waitrose - very nice beer, I'll get some more for the quarter final against France unless there's loads of Carling now going cheap at Tesco!
  9. First thing in the morning I'm going to Iceland to get one of their carrier bags to take my lunch to work! Superb display and tbh I'm not that surprised by this result - magic though
  10. See, his potential is enough already to have the poachers sniffing around
  11. Last time I was at Arbroath I was distracted by the incoming tide and getting soaked by the spray off the top of the waves!
  12. I'm well chuffed with this appointment and must congratulate the board on having the courage to give Richie this chance. I'm also happy with the length of the contract. It points to a confidence flowing both ways between our manager and the board and hopefully will help to settle everything down so we can look forward to a prolonged period of stability - and more success. Also, I'm not concerned about Richie's perceived lack of experience. He's just completed a very decent playing career and proved himself to be a great leader on the pitch and in the dressing room, I've no doubt he can take that experience to the bench and be a very successful manager. If he can take that step up in the same way as Alex Neil has done I'll be more than delighted. Good luck Richie, I feel you have an unprecedented level of support from us all and we're looking forward to the next chapter in our short and exciting history with you at the helm.
  13. Well he's spotted that the press box windows need a clean...
  14. ...and just 1 or 2 more from all the others and we wouldn't have even needed to worry about the Hearts result :(
  15. ...and thanks to IHE for the apt pictorial summing up of the afternoon
  16. You put your right leg in...
  17. Oh well thank goodness that wee diversion is over and we can get back to concentrating on the real matter in hand, staying clear of Killie at the foot of the table!
  18. Both the team and their fans should be well up for this. Their season has gone a bit pear-shaped and this is a huge opportunity for them to turn it around. We need to be on top of our game tonight!
  19. Enjoy the trip, can't make it as recovering from a hospital op but timing means we'll be able to meet up again at The Counting House in May :o) No fears about this one, if we can't beat this Hibs side at the moment we don't deserve the chance to keep hold of the cup.
  20. Robbie Savage calls it 'game management' - ok it's maybe fekkin annoying but he was good at it, seems we're not!
  21. Aye HtG would have taken that before the game but you've gotta be p'd off at giving up a 2-0 lead - still sounds like a positive day and I'm delighted that I played my NPL joker to turn my 1 point into 2 :)
  22. C*unty just gone 3-2 up against Dundee so as it stands we'll move up into the top 6...
  23. 0-2 Tansey pen 47 mins - shaping up to be my worst NPL prediction and I is delighted
  24. Darn it - that game plan is screwed now
