  1. Killie 2 up at Motherwell...will give us a nice gap if we can nick this one.
  2. Crowds are dropping all over the UK and Europe and it's pretty obvious to me that the problem is money, not just the cost of the match ticket but the travel and everything else that goes with it. Since things started to bite I haven't been able to make it up to a game for 3 or 4 years now. I imagine there's many like me who'd love to be there every week, whether the team are winning and 2nd in the league or not, but it ain't gonna happen in the current climate. So if we make it to a Hampden final this year and I can make it up the road for just that match, please don't slag me off, or any others in a similar position, as floaters or glory-hunters. Just be happy that there are more there that week to swell the numbers and the coffers of the club, and be grateful if you are in the fortunate position of being able to get to a game every week.
  3. That's another night sitting in the car as that's the only radio I've got that picks it up - and another night that the neighbours think Mrs Canary has chucked me out again!!!!
  4. Weddings in the season is just sheer bad planning - I got married in Englandshire on the opening day of the 76/77 season, I thought it was the following week! The new Mrs CC was not impressed when I suggested consumating the nuptials in the style of wee doggies so I could watch Match of the Day at the same time.
  5. All we need now is the return of the Ryanair 1p flights from Stansted to Prestwick - or petrol back at 79p a litre
  6. Remember my first visit there when I was a wee boy and couldn't understand why it was raining when it was bright and sunny - it was the sea spray from the high tide being blown in - love that wee place!
  7. Looks like some large gaps in the stands - won't be getting any crowd points in Gringo's NPL for my prediction today!
  8. No surprise to me that the ugly sisters seem to be turning the clock back to the bad old days - was inevitable soon as that brainless thug Lennon got the job. Lennon as manager and Brown as skipper, what a great pair of role models for the green faithful! As for the other lot, which idiot thought it was a good idea to take on a headcase like Diouf? Delighted that Celtic won though. Will give me far more pleasure to see that smug grin wiped off Lennon's face.
  9. Yes it does worry me - but I'm also having a ruddy good laugh at it I'm sure he'd think about it but not so sure he'd actually go.
  10. Never mind no wine left - I've no hair left!!! Oh, it was like that before kick-off, booger!
  11. Welcome home troops and congratulations on another successful campaign - pity about the casualties but I hope Chumba can join you round the pitch. Enjoy the party :party01:
  12. ...and Norwich City have just secured promotion back to the Championship as well - what a fekkin great, great day - and here's me stuck at work and missed both games!!! Well, well done to all the team, Terry, Maurice and all the backstage lads and lasses - what a magnificent achievement :allhail:
  13. Blimey I should type quicker - reckon we are the Champions again!!!
  14. If Dundee draw and we don't chuck it away we have a 9 point lead: ICT P 34 Pts 67 GD +32 Dundee P 33 Pts 58 GD +14 County P 31 Pts 52 GD +6 Mathematically that means job done as the most points Dundee and County can get is 67 - just need the 1 point from the last 2 to guarantee it!!! :D
  15. Have a great day troops, I'll be thinking of you especially on that return trip - hope the result lifts the spirits for it
  16. Hellloooooo young sirs - looking good! Great way to kick off yer training for HM8 - can't believe you didnae get any others joining you for a nice short stroll up the road!!! Did you make it in time for a couple of pre-match refreshments?
  17. Hello, good evening and welcome :P There's a few more of us living in East Angular and I too used to work in London on a regular basis, but since RBS withdrew all the travel budget I don't get down there very often these days. Never mind, you can have a virtual gathering on the website - and it's a lot cheaper
  18. OMG Harry, the tears are rolling! Don't know whether it's sentimental empathy or just the laughing, but that is the inspirational prose of a master. Get yersel in the tunnel before the game for a final Braveheart style address before the battle!!!
  19. Safe walking troops, and take care of my favourite hippopotamus! See you in Sneck next Saturday :)
  20. I think the important point is that it's not worth as much as another season in the SPL - Falkirk have done us a favour
  21. Welcome aboard Terry and Maurice, delighted you have come to join us. And a very big thank you to our board for bringing in such a quality management team! Must admit to getting a wee bit worried with some of the other names being bandied about before the weekend. Give it your best shot guys and we'll be behind you all the way. Not counting chickens but I'm looking forward to next season already!
  22. We had the lovely 'Charlie's Angels' so how about the 'Butcher Boys' suitably decked out in stripey aprons - I do like the napper bandages though!
  23. Anybody but Sutton (well maybe not Brew). His man-management style would not suit our players or the supporters. I have personal experience of his communication style from down here in the Norfolk cricketing world and I just can't see it working at TCS.
  24. Killie now winning 3-1
  25. I'm not enjoying this season very much with Norwich City going the same way: team in disarray, fans squabbling but mostly united in their loathing of a clueless manager who can't stem a disastrous run of poor defeats as they head for the bottom of the league at breakneck speed. Yet that's where the similarities have ended - the Canaries board took that leap over the edge by sacking Roeder and his backroom team without having anybody else lined up to take over after a shocking performance saw them knocked out of the FA cup at home on Tuesday night (final straw for everyone associated with the club). Bryan Gunn, ex keeper and Canary legend, was given the caretaker job on Thursday for the one match. He brought back some loan players Roeder didn't get on with, made 6 changes, changed the formation and they beat Barnsley 4-0! Ok, one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that, it may not work in the longer term as the permanent appointment is so crucial and they got the last 2 wrong, but at least they have made a move to try to save the club. Would love to see our board having the courage to do something similar before it's too late, if we haven't reached that point already!!! As things stand our SPL days are history and we ain't coming back anytime soon - we are suffering from total management failure so fix it - might be easier to fill the position if it's already vacant! Could we honestly do any worse without a manager for a wee while than we're already doing?
