Who?
At the moment I'd take just about anybody! If Brewster stays we are down, he has no idea how to turn it around and the consequences will last way beyond the end of this season. Someone else needs to be given the chance now to stop the rot. Hamilton are full of spirit and that fight will keep them up. Falkirk are in the mire but I think they have more left in the tank than us. The players in all the sides are fairly evenly matched, the difference comes from the dugout and how they get the players to produce on the pitch - as things looked we are doomed with Brewster in charge so we need a positive change. The only one for me to give us an instant boost is Robbo but I understand the comments about the relationship with DS and realise it's probably not going to happen. Pressley would be decent choice - ok it's a gamble but the way I see it we've nothing to lose!

graham linton
Nobody is getting on the players' backs Mr Linton and they know it. The protests will hopefully benefit them by bringing about a positive change in their working enviroment and giving them a decent chance to retain their premier league status, jobs and salaries. As for a suitable replacement; I think my granny may be free to stand in for a few weeks to improve matters while our DoF negotiates contracts with the new management team - if that's not already underway!

Happy New Year folks - have a great one wherever you may be!

What has it come to ?
Right or wrong? Difficult question IHE but I suspect the answer is both. You are right to feel let down and the depressing thing is that this feeing wil probably get worse - the ditching of oor Bazza wil not help! But you cannae let the present turmoils let your feelings for ICT wane. It's been said already the present incumbent of the managerial post is only here for a relativley short period of time but ICT is for life! The good times will roll again and you'll want to be there every step of the way. I remember back in the very dim and distant past standing on the terracing at Pittodrie when the Dons were losing 5-0 to Partick the ground was emptying fast amid lots of booing and abuse, but one old fella was stood there shouting "C'mon Aberdeen give us 6!". I just hope he was still around to see them beat Real Madrid. Our day will come mate and I look forward to joining you in a hostelry near Hampden some day in the not too distant future - that'll probably be after a wee change of personnel off the pitch though

John Robertson (Robbo)
Sorry I mised you Robbo, the best thread we have had on here for a very long time! Just wanted to thank you for the best footballing day out of my life - nay make that best two days as the win at Clyde the week before was something very special and set us off on the walk up the road full of high spirits. Could not believe it when you walked into the end of season party and handed the trophy to me and Part-Timer for it to begin its journey round the room. What a fantastc gesture to the fans that was, we will never ever forget it. The very best of luck to you in your next venture wherever that may be - slainte

Are You Still Behind Brewster?
It's gotta be a NO! Was surprised at the run of good results before Christmas but the chickens have come home now and we're seeing what many of us expected would happen. Had a similar experience down here in Norwich with Peter Grant who 'lost the dressing room'. They got rid and will survive because of that decision. We need to do the same or we'll be gone next season.
-
Relegation a reality?
Have to agree strongly with Govan Jaggie - I couldn't give a stuff about them and the sooner they're gone the better. Normally I feel very sorry for any club in this position but have never regarded Gretna as a 'proper' club. The whole journey from non-league English football through the Scottish ranks has been a farce. Their last gasp promotion winner last season was a predictable disaster for the SPL and turned it into an even bigger laughing stock than usual.

Hearts Game
That looks like a dead cert 0-0 for all you NPL punters then :004:

ICT -V- Hibernian : Matchday Thread
Sounds like all positives today but for me the greatest pleasure (and relief) has to be that Brew seems to have got the tactics right and he made good, well-timed substitutions. :clapping03:

Marius
I'm just relieved that I've finally managed to get 2 NPL points for having him as 1st scorer!!! :001:

CONGRATULATIONS..............
OMG :010: Does that mean I won't have to hold those sheep down for you on the Highland March anymore?!?!? Great news and delighted for the pair of you. I'll be checking my mailbox for the invite everyday from now on :004: :party01:

Brewster
His lack of vision, poor tactics and reluctance to sub were features during Brew's first shift with us - probably the main reasons so many us were voicing concerns about his return. I was one of the doubters, however, his early moves to strengthen the squad and some great performances got me thinking he may turn it around. The last few games would make it all too easy to spout the 'I told you so...' stuff but it really is too early for that. I'll give the guy a chance to make more of his mark after the January window and if it is still going down the pan come March then 'I told you so...'

Apportioning the blame ?
All very valid points IHE - but as for for buying somebody a voddie and feeling their bumps, well last time I tried that I got a slap in the chops!!!

Saturday's last minute winner
Any chance of a summarised transcript for us poor unfortunates who missed it?

Darren Kelly
So who would you like to see move on?

Ill give Brewster a chance
You're right about the forgiveness thing Sophia, but I'm finding it a lot easier to use that grown up gift towards the method of Brew's departure than I ever will towards the method the board adopted in this 'selection' process. My opposition to his appointment has nothing to do with his leaving to join the Arabs but with his one-directional tactics that I am sure will drag us back down to Div 1. He may prove us wrong and I hope he does, but whether he does or doesn't the actions of the board during the past week will never be forgotten or forgiven.

BREW CAPTION
Just a wee amendment to Scotty's caption to remind us all of the wonderful post match interviews... ohh look ... shiny shoes ... Craig Brewster can see Craig Brewster in them. :023:

Feelings on Brewsters Return
If the worst comes to the worst and we end up with him back, I'd just like to urge everybody to stand by the team and give them all the support you can coz they're gonna need it in bucketfuls!!! Just remember Brew will be here for only a season, if that, but ICT is for life!!!

New Manager
Don't know why we're having all the faffing about - getting Warnock is surely a no-brainer!!! If he turns it down then it has to be Pressley because of the job he can do for us on the pitch, or Coyle if we're desperate. I don't think we could ever be desperate enough to have Brew back and don't even get me started on Malpas :crazy07:

Who Do You Want To Beat?
Well the favourite has to be Aberdeen of course but my vote goes to Gretna (4 times)... ...we need someone to be 12th coz I have a horrible feeling we could be challenging for that mighty position :rolleyes02:

County 1-0 UP
Deeply disappointed on two counts... The tinks going down is not good for Highland football and I hope they get their act together for a quick promotion. And Gretna coming up instead of St Johnstone is not going to be good for the SPL. Their performances over the last couple of months have shown how poor they really are. Just shows how important it is to rack up the points in the first quarter of the season! Gretna have nothing to offer and a poor fan base - no matter how nice folk they might be. My main worry is that they'll have such a poor season they will become a laughing stock and harm the lobby to extend the size of the SPL. I hope I'm wrong but St Johnstone would have been a much better prospect.

Dyron Daal
Sounds like we could have done with having him on a loan spell ourselves after we lost Dargs and His Highness...

Lack of appreciation
The price is too high for the product on offer most weeks. Unfortunately you don't get to know the quality of the goods until after you've paid the entrance fee. Some weeks you'll think you got a right bargain and you'll be left with a nice warm inner happiness that'll last you for years, other weeks will have you ripping yer hair out in frustration - I must have had a lot of those frustrating days over the years :007: Hopefully, over the course of a season it balances out and you feel you got value for money in the end. But for all the winners at the end of the year there are just as many losers. But that's football, expectations are always high and some weeks the experience will fall far short - whether it's because of a poor result or performance. That same truth also applies to managers. CC's expectation of a happy noisy support every week is a rather naive notion. He can't expect happy cheerful supporters when they've paid out too much hard earned to watch a sub-standard performance when everyone knows they are capable of doing so much better. They wouldn't be half as peed off if they'd only paid half as much to get in! So come on, drop the prices, bring in more kids to increase the size of the crowds and improve the atmosphere - it works!!!
