  1. Oh look, Dalneigh finds fault with one of my posts again. As I said, Brewster made some honking mistakes today, and most will throw the old one defeat from relegation statistic at me, but I'd reply that we are also 1 victory (with our away form as it is, a very winnable game against St Mirren) away from the top 6. Que someone hurling abuse at me for having a different opinion to their own. Chris certianly not going to hurl abuse as yes we are all entitled to our opinions but are you not worried the way things are going I am indeed worried. Brewster continually makes stupid mistakes at home and frequently shows his tactical inexperience. However, I just don't think things are that bad. United would have been expected to win today, and by the sounds of things in the first half at least we gave them a game. I also look at what Brewster has brought to the club (far more than Christie IMO). I'm impressed at the way he is willing to throw young guys in at the deepend, and yes on some occasions these decisions have not worked the way he would have liked, but I direct you to the preformance of Gary Wood and Ian Vigurs at Hibs. He seems to at least try to play half decent football, and so far has been excellent in the transfer market (Djebdi-Zadi aside). He is master of the counter attack and genuinely seems to want whats best for the club. And don't forget that the players are fitter than ever. Yes things aren't perfect, but I am convinced we can go to Love Street and get a win, and IF Brewster is willing to learn from the mistakes he made to day, we will give Aberdeen a decent game on the 21st. Was it last week that most on here were fuming at Brewster for doing exactly that Master of the counter attack I must have missed that

  3. Proof is what is lacking, so both stories have no substance. Maybe this thread should be moved to the rumour mill? Yes think you are right doesnt seem to be going anywhere
  4. Fact is, we are relying on others being worse than we are. This is life under Brew. Thank God Hamilton are pants. Yes they are pants but I am not sure we are much better to be honest
  5. "Sometimes, people need to take a reality check" ... INDEED !!!!! However, I would suggest that the person actually needing the reality check is the manager ! And the board for considering giving him a new contract at this stage
  6. If we are going to play 1 up front I would prefer to see Rooney up there, hopefully I will be proved wrong and Barrowman will bang in a couple, I have a good feeling about today think we might just get a result
  7. I would agree that only time will tell, I would have preferred if the club would have waited a touch longer to see how he gets on before offering a new contract. I wonder if it was Brew that was pushing for the new contract or did the club just think he deserved it?
  8. Yes How so? Are you his shadow? I would put that back and ask with the way you are defending it do you have any proof that he was offered a new contract at the start of the season
  9. Dare I suggest that they may both be right? Scenario Club talks to agent and offers deal, agent wants a bigger piece of the pie and doesn't let player know about the offer. Club believes that an agent will talk to the player and player hasn't heard from the club. Pure speculation but there's a lot of that about at the moment. No I'm not. we all are mate
  10. true and you are what you are
  11. Has the club been dishonest? I'd think carefully before jumping to conclusions. During any contract negotiation it is wise to keep the negotiation out of the press. It would be nice to know what's going on but us knowing will have no bearing on the outcome. who said they were ,I said I would question it nothing more, enjoy sleeping on the brightside I really dont have to answer this I, hope the black and cowie have a long future at the club and I hope I dont have to explain there departure. 12. :thumb04: :018: ;) Is it safe to assume that everything reported in the press is a true reflection of comments made by either parties during an interview (if an interview even took place)? Unless you are the subject or the interviewer or a witness to said interview then I would suggest a bit of decorum. ok I have been in that that position and I would question the clubs honesty in such positions
  13. :018: That statement is in effect defamatory. All I have done is to have quoted ICT's Director of Football and his account of the manner in which events unfolded. No, you clearly stated in your opening line that your report was an insight into what has been happening. In other words, your were citing the information as fact and not simply an account of any discussion you might have had with the DoF. The information contained therein is in direct conflict with what Ian Black said in the press...so you are in effect calling him a liar. If anyone is in danger of having made a defamatory comment, then I'm afraid it is you. ;) :thumb04:
  14. Scotty I am not even sure you believe that
  15. 1) Charles Bannerman is not the BBC although he does work for them part time. He is as entitled to voice his own opinion here as we are although in this case he hasn't. 2) This forum is not operated by or controlled by the BBC. As for impartial have you heard of Billy Dodds? 3) What Charles quoted was comments made during an interview with Graeme Bennett and not "Grassa's opinion clearly". Perhaps if you would care to look at bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotland or follow the link to it from the appropriate section of this site, you might get an insight into what has been happening. This is a summary of what Graeme Bennett told the BBC - * At the beginning of the season ICT made extension offers to Grant Munro, Ian Black, Don Cowie and Michael Fraser. *Don Cowie, on the advice of his agent, said he wanted to wait until the window. *Ian Black and Michael Fraser, through their agents, turned their offers down. * Grant Munro, who doesn't have an agent, agreed a 3 year extension back in October. So this wasnt from the bbc ok sorry
  16. Why should Charles come on here stating Grassa's opinion clearly why not come on here stating Blackies opinion clearly after all the BBC are impartial Out of order. Charles does not represent the BBC on here He was simply quoting what was said during an interview with Grassa. Take a look around you, Black will probably be away at the end of the season or sooner. Charles and Grassa will still be here. I know which version I believe. Rubbish he was quoting a BBC article on here Get to the point caller. What is your point caller did Mr CB quoted a BBC interview on here or not

  19. I see no evidence of ongoing bad feeling, only a much more mature Ian on the park. This, I feel, is one reason he will go to a good home, thanks in a way to Brew and the way he treated him! I feel that there is little any employer can do if the employee is looking for a better paid post and has the right to leave with easy money in his pocket. All the offers, it would appear, were made at the start of the season - although CaleyD has a bit of a doubt if the DOF is telling porkies with this one as Ian has gone to print stating the opposite. Now, wait a wee while till I think? Is that the Ian that is looking for column inches to advertise his freedom to move, surely he has no need to go to the press and tell porkies, has he? He does not want his position highlighted in any way and I feel sure his agent will have warned him to keep a low profile in case any big club notices his availability, without any big fee being involved!! He and agent don't want that do they? Spin, his agent has possibly forgotten more spin than ICT has ever learned! Start of season too late for offers?? Maybe. Would his agent have agreed to a signing with a potential move to a much larger club, in the offing, with no trasfer fee involved, by deferring signing. Any agent worth their salt would have waited. But wait, it is the DoF's fault, maybe Brew for being bad to the boy, the sweetie rustlers for not singing his name. It is a five lettered word that has caused the situation G R E E D!! Or the nice expression, looking after your client's interest! :thumb04:
  20. Gringo (I will not say Jnr as I though that title had gone) you are right but it is part of the game now and the club have to deal with that.
  21. Excelent news, I was a wee bit concerned about this with the current credit crunch. Flybe must be holding their own through this difficult period.
  22. You're absolutely right 5th Stand lets not talk about anything ever again since it's never the fans responsibility to deal with the issues... I believe Vigurs to be a similar player to Black, albeit a slightly more attacking player. Wilsons direct replacement would be Zander. I'm not fussed about losing Fraser - Face it, we could replace him quite easily. Leaving Cowie, who would indeed be the most difficult to replace. Vigurs while looks like he is going to be a great player has not had enough games to say whether he is ready to fill blacks boots and if he is injured or suspended who is going to fill in for him Nobody has seen enough of Zander in the SPL to say if he can make it at that level I think Fraser is young and can turn into a good keeper I think he is worth hanging onto.
  23. Alex the players did cost us nothing but have developed into something worse considerably more than nothing now. Do you honestly think that if 2 off our biggest assets leave for nothing we are not losing out?
  24. Old news??? it was the DOF that was talking about this in the P&J today, we have less than a month to the start of the transfer window this is urgent not old news
