Yes it is def a sum of around 57k the club will recieve

The BIG difference in this scenario is that Black & Cowie will actually be coveted by other clubs. The players hold all the cards now. They just have to wait a few weeks and see what offers come there way. Certainly in the case of Black things might have been different if we'd offered him a long term contract in the summer. Too late now of course!! Nothing we can do now other than to keep our fingers crossed. If we lose both of them we are in serious trouble. Yes serious trouble, we will probably never know if the contract talks had been held earlier would it have been possible to hold onto Black, maybe not. I think most have known for a couple of seasons that black was a big player for this club and with the potential to be a great player which he has now turned into. should the club have tied to tie him up to a long term deal then, probably yes just like they are trying to do with Vigurs now. I really fear for us if we lose 1 of these players never mind the 2 of them.

Finger should have been pulled out a long time ago, absolute disgrace the club will lose some of these players for a fraction of what they are worth in the Jan transfer window, when will they ever learn!!
-
No I wasnt saying that, I am not even saying we shouldnt have a seperate DOF but maybe in the future if we are looking for a manager we might be able to attract a better quality of candidate if we combined both roles and thus had a larger salary to offer

I take it you dont rate him Scotty, its strange you see players Barry for example that you feel will turn into good managers, of course it doesnt always work out that way, however Mo never struck me as one that would have good managerial abilities.

This is a degree of monopoly which is unacceptable. One of my main personal gripes with Tesco is the Cafe at Tesco Inshes. I have been going there since it was the Cope in the 1980s, it was great then and also under Tesco's direct management later on. However, since they have franchised it out, but possibly not entirely BECAUSE they've franchised it out, it's gone down the tubes so people have stoped using it etc etc. The equipment, which is apparently Tesco's responsibility, keeps packing in but worse still the hours at which you can get stuff are much shorter. For instance after home games I was in the habit of dashing in there for my tea before nipping home, getting changed and out to the Social Club. Now there's no chance of getting a meal at 5:30 - they are long closed. Tesco would probably pass the blame on to the franchisee but in the end, I'm now looking at transferring my eating (and therefore shopping) arrangements to Morrisons. Charles I thought a man of your means would be dashing into Rocpool not Tescos

To three significant figures, 12th man is actually spot on. At 17.5% VAT, the price is 117.5% of the pre tax purchase price. When VAT drops to 15% it becomes 115%.The new price is therefore 115/117.5 of the old one. That equates to 97.87% - a saving therefore of (100 - 97.87) = 2.13% which is exactly as 12th man stated. Caley D has forgotten that the VAT is actually included in the full purchase price. Go on then D.... apologise to the man!! :thumb04: Charles was that a flashback of nearly 30 years or what was nearly going of to do my homework

Aye, ASDA now deliver to Inverness !! :thumb04: Nice shout didnt realise that

Not 100% sure of this but I believe that there are certain positions that must be in existence and filled by qualified personnel as part of the club's UEFA licensing Was reading about Levins new contract and was interested to note that he also held the DOF position at United
-
We cant do that Caley D that would involve thinking outside the box. god forbid!!

The days of him being a 90 minute player who could impact a game at any point are indeed well behind him but to call him a "passenger" is short sighted IMHO. He can still impact a game if used tactically. Put him on for the first 60 minutes of a game and make a planned substitution when its time for him to come off, or put him on for the last 30 in another planned substitution. Off the park, he is the sort of player - with or without coaching badges - who should be able to help, inspire, and give his experience to younger players such as Zander or Dougie. dont underestimate the mentorship role he could play. :018: :thumb04: bang on!!

To be fair to the club they would have been hammered by some if the did not pass on the VAT saving to the fans, I think it was the correct choice.

Just a wee concern - are you inferring that we will have a financial problem IF Niculae is due money? On your point 2 - There will be more teams than us succumbing to Falkirk before this season is over IMO. On Point 3 - There is not a team from Celtic down who do not have a manager that 'many people would take delight in seeing sacked' Only last week it was public knowledge that creditors, including the Revenue, were chasing Livi, with a time limit being imposed and this was PRE Flynn's claim. How can you suggest we are in this position or even close to it?? I think that due to many factors including the present financial downturn, our crowds seem to be on the downturn ,along with the fact that our accounts last year were worse than previous years I dont think any club can take it that everything is rosy on the financial side although I think we are in a better position than some. For this reason I wouldnt gloat at others misfortune as you never know what is around the corner.

I think that most would be happy with the commitment that was shown by the team on saturday, it has been pointed out that there was no fight in the team this year and the tactics were wrong, although I wasnt there on sat these two things were both apparently right. Yes we are struggling up front and I dont see an easy answer to that problem. bear in mind that last season the club took in Marius, very experinced, he played in the Euros and he struggled to get into double figures.

I have to agree IN PART, the board WILL have realised their mistake by now, BLACKIE< COWIE ....WILL....go in January and NOT at the end of the season, prospective clubs WILL put their offers in to take them away in January, and because we have F***** up YET again (Bennet), we will have to sell for a fraction of their worth, so where does this leave us then, dont tell me, I already know,oh and if it is not the DOF's fault then who's is it, he deals with the contracts, and if his strings are being pulled or reigned in, then dont we have a right to know.? Gillian I hope you are wrong about them both going in Jan, but I have a horrible feeling you may be right , if this does happen it will be a disaster for the club, losing our 2 biggest assest for next to nothing
-
Gringo spot on, I have my fears that if we get it wrong it could be oh so wrong , but if we get amongst them could well come away with at least a point. Big day for Black, Cowie and Imrie against a midfield of Celtic that are looking solid this year, if we lose that midfield battle it will be a big problem for us

Different question I was responding to the statement that he MUST become a coach at ICT. Do I think he deserves a new contract for 5 months? Probably Do I think he'll get one? Unlikely I think the wages will be released to attempt to bring in a similar/younger version or maybe go towards other areas in the team, Only MY opinion now, not those that have primed me to say so Ralph not getting personal here but where do you think we can find another barry overnight, perhaps your belief in our scouting system is better than mine
-
sorry mftj couldnt find a hug will that do?? we are talking about a legend here and why hasnt he been a coach through no fault of his own I am sure, who would you rather as a coach shearer or wilson, aside from that he has still got a lot to offer as a player IMHO
-
Ralph ok make youself clear you dont think barry deserves an new 5 month contract
-
mftj everyone is entitled to their opinion but I will not slag barry for not been a coach at this stage in his career
-
Don't you think if he MUST become a Coach he would have become one by now? Ralph even if you are been primed by those at the top they should have told you he is only 36 years old Whats his age got to do with it? If you cant see what age has to do with been a coach enough said, maybe you havent been primed enough to understand that Don't make ridiculous assumptions on being primed you pap, you're way off the mark. If he was good enough or thought of as a future coach he might have been considered by now thats all I'm saying. After all Alec Cleland is coaching the under 19's is he not !! Ralph no need to get personall I have not abused you, maybe I have hit a nerve

Sorry Bingo but I've checked all the Uefa and Fa websites and don't see Danny Mc, JR or CC Are you sure about your facts? There is a list of all who qualified in 2004 and D Mc and JR aint in it OK so well shall all agree Brew for Euro manager of the year
