  1. Well done Ross, here's to 600 :022:
  2. Good win for Baltacha must be one of her best results, big shock. Just have the funny feeling Murray is going to sail through early rounds again only to lose in Quarter or Semi , hope not though
  3. What did you make of Pat Nevin saying he didn't approve of Imrie because my reaction was a headshake and a shut it to PN ? Its always the same in football, if a player from the your team does it he is a hero, if a player does it against you he is a cheating wee scumbag, I just enjoy it when it works for you, well done Dougie
  4. Yep sure was mate
  5. The reason you are probably getting some of the flak thrown at you is because you did say that if you were there you probably would have berated Imre. Have you met him to judge him the way you do, I have met him a number times of and can assure you that you are well off the mark in your judgement off him. However even if Dougie was the arrogant, ego maniac you portray him to be once he pulls on an ICT shirt he should have all the fans support not abuse. Once he has gone who are the boo boys going to target then, who are they going to decide doesn't have the right to pull on an ICT top, as he is to arrogant or whatever, get a grip.
  6. I heard this afternoon that Tokley was playing left back???? maybe he is.
  7. Scotty bang on !!! Wee bit of common sense could have sorted this out to begin with.
  8. No---Very accurate I am afraid to say
  9. Would agree with that Alex, a costly mistake but I think the correct decision
  10. you misunderstand me ..... I was meaning that the whole ethos of ICT as a "family club" and therefore his position as a "role model" for kids etc was used to substantiate the zero tolerance attitude that pushed him out. It has nothing to do with what a "family" could or should do. Quite honestly I am still undecided on this one. Ask me one day and I would say I would like him still to be at ICT (getting support from his family as you say), but ask me on another and I would say he made a mistake and this was the consequence of it because the club, being a "family club" has a zero tolerance policy. As you can see, on either point I could use the "family" tag to make my argument. On a purely footballing basis, I would prefer him to still be at ICT but I dont think he is a good example to use if we are talking about this player or that player being pushed out as his case is more complicated. I agree Hart was probably a bad example and probably a whole different discussion,
  11. Personally, no I dont think he has a future at ICT under Butcher or anyone else. As you say he's 36. I doubt very much that he can be kept in a coaching role. The club couldn't afford it. The bit that always annoys me is that its always the club that get the blame. It was ICT's fault when Blackie went for 3 times what we could pay him. It was ICT's fault when Cowie went, when Rankin went and when many others went through the years to try and better their career's. Many people harp on about how the club failed to cash in by not giving those players longer deals. Nobody ever stopped to think that maybe the players themselves wanted short deals because they intended to move anyway and didn't want to run the risk of being held back by contracts. Footballers move on. They get too old. They fail to fit in to particular styles and systems. They fall out with managers. Thats the nature of the game and the way of every club. Surviving in the football league means being ruthless about how you go about your business. Every club needs to have that streak. There's no room for sentiment. Alex I am sorry but I have to totally disagree with you the club never even bothered to speak to Blackie about a new contract until it was to late, the club pushed out Rankin, the club pushed out Ritchie Hart, Barry Wilson the list goes on. How come we are the only club that never sells a player for what his is worth, because they are never on long enough contracts thats why. After a month or so into Cowies career at ICT was it not obvious he was a player, why wasn't he offered a long term deal then? The only time we have managed to sell a player for a decent amount of cash they have mucked up as well
  12. Not getting into all the old sentimental stuff about Colin Baillie , I thought he was a to55er back then and since I haven't had any dealings with him since school thats still my memory of him
  13. You'll get lambasted for that. :004: I don't see why he should get lambasted for that the first part is just pointing out a fact that Pompey are giving free tickets. As for the second part would ICT have got more volunteers if the had given free tickets, probably yes, would it have been the right thing to do I am not sure. But I am sure if they communicated with the fans more and not just when they needed help they would have got more volunteers.
  14. Well done, Kyle and Liam looks like a great experience for them both.
  15. Yeah I would agree with that. That's why in my post I said "if this is true" then it's shocking the way he's being treated. Unfortunately this is becoming the norm at the club and great servants don't appear to mean much to them, the club is getting further and further from the family club image it once had
  16. Once the current regime in Cuba does fall I wonder how long it will take for the commercialism juggernaut that is the USA to move in and turn this beautiful island into another fast food disney world for their entertainment? not long I bet.
  17. I don't see where anyone slagged him off, I just alluded to the fact that he probably got the job due to his contacts (McLeish) rather than him being a hugely successful coach thus far in his career. As it happens I hope Malky does well in his new role.
  18. Was a bit of a Kangaroo court to say the least, and there were/still are those that if not quite as guilty with blood on their hands as well.
  19. Yes think it is reserve coach, as you were saying he was up at Old Firm game, he was with Birmingham assistant manager, cracking job for him though. As they say its not what you know but who you know.
  20. We are undefeated in 2010 :P
  21. Mainly because we might be able to afford him! :P Charlie's record stands up against others who have gone before and after. Remember the victorty at Iprix? Remember Charlie had Parky by his side when he was manager, a huge benefit for a new manager.
  22. Is it not reserve team coach job that he got. I hope Birmingham have a big enough budget to buy him a watch , Caley D will get it :P
  23. On our Back in the day, we are were certainly capable of beating any of the three either home or away. Fixed it for you. I still think on our day we would have a decent chance against any of them
  24. Too much baggage, sorry. I think Pele said it himself that any Chairmen would have to be mad to employ him at present.
  25. Not a great draw but we can get through, what a cracking draw for County though :P
