  1. zadi ain't that bad. looking at him against dundee and away to dunfermline, he was cracking. taking players on and beating them, having the pace and confidence to track back and shephard the ball out, it was like having roscoe back on the pitch. however whether he still has the confidence to do that remains to be seen after saturday. bearing in mind butcher has been slowly and carefully building him up over the last few months, the fans on saturday might affect him. and looking at the league games, we lost 2 league goals in 3 games (both to the favourites) before the county game.
  2. seem to remember that the reason that golly wasn't getting a regular game for county is because of family issues that he had at the time. putting this in the rumour mill, can't quite remember whether that was the case.
  3. Golabek was a terrific player in his day, dunnowhether he still has it or not, but letting hastings go seems a little shady. Should still get his tesimonial, shocked that he went to an 'spl' club anyways.
  4. oh by all means. just don't believe the spin, don't jump on the bandwagon and don't over-react to a poor performance. and i am sure you don't
  5. the whole forum never ceases to baffle me. Thats not even taking into account renegade. the worst thing is that quite a few don't bother to make the effort to watch the team perform then feel its alright to sit back and criticise the clubs every movement. anyone who saw the game at dundee would agree that we are a good team with at least half a chance of winning the league.
  6. lionel is a legend. just not yesterday.
  7. what a difference a week makes. if we beat partick next week everything will be rosy again. the performance was bad, but the players know it and butcher knows it. they only need to read this forum for 2 minutes to see how much it mattered yesterday (not that you could tell with the majority of fans). the whole brewster saga seems to have given some 'fans' on here the frame of mind that if ict don't stroll through every match then someone is to blame. Perhaps beaten by a team better on the day? no of course not, its butchers fault, lionels fault, sanchez's fault, the fans fault, referee's fault, grantie's fault, everyones fault.
  8. once again butcher comes out and says the right thing. is he going to do anything about the clear problems we have or just tell the press? methinks he has been learning a few things from burley. i might be a little harsh though, and a week makes a massive difference in the first division. only hope that today was the huge kick up the erse that the players need. most of the fans knew that county weren't going to come and lie down, the players and management seemed to take the 3 points for granted from the off.
  9. Pathetic. I would go as far as saying it was one of the worst games i have ever seen an ICT play in. No passion, no fight. I would maybe give pass marks to Jonny Hayes, possibly Bulvitis. Judging on that we are not going to get anywhere near promotion this year. We can always improve but if we don't have the bottle for the big occasion then we will not win the big games. the most worrying thing for me is that fact that Butcher always manages to say the right things, but is he actually backing these PR staements up??? In no way were any of the newbies ready for any derby. It made me embarrassed to admit that I will be paying probably round ?50 watching them away to partick next week. Makes me embarrassed to say I ever thought we were going to win the league. Of course this can all change in a week. But that was utter sh*te. If i have to give marks, Lionel would come a firm 0.2 The first time in a long tim a player has been booed in ict colours by ict fans during the match. Pathetic. Sanchez never looked like doing anything. Lightweight. Munro. Captain??? He looked like he didn't want the ball. Cox. Not his usual self. Poor on the ball and worse off it. Foran? You believe that '20 goals a season' crap? You really wouldn't watching him today. Anyway, on to partick.....
  10. Butcher said he was looking for a player who would excite the fans, don't think a player with grit and experience is going to do that. however conor wickham on the other hand....
  11. sorry mahonio no bebo page, find it a bit pointless, appreciate the belief though looking at the squad tonight we could do with a bit of pace, a bit of height and this lad offers both. Although we have Odi, Dougie and Hayes, Wickham would be a perfect impact player. Rooney and Sutherland also look like they are going to be playing small parts this season, paving the way for a really talented youngster. be prepared to see Butcher arrange a couple of bounce games, look out for the new face in training.
  12. IMO this boy looks twice as good as either barrowboy or rooney. Even though he did start against WBA, that won't be a regular position, this would be the perfeect opportunity for the lad. And, if you're good enough, you're old enough.
  13. Terry is set to swoop on young striker Conor Wickham, currently playing for the Ipswich reserve team, and sign him up on-loan for the rest of the season. Having reliable information from a couple of old fans of Ipswich who attend every home and away game, as well as the odd reserve games, both of whom now have the legend's autograph having spotted him taking up an exceutive seat in a recent reserve game. By all accounts an exciting talent having been capped by England at schoolboy level and on standby for the u17s, he also grabbed a couple of goals on his League Cup debut. So far he has made just the 2 league appearances from the bench this season, and with new manager roy keane strengthening the squad with big money signings Ipswich clearly feel as though a season in Division 1 would clearly toughen the lad up and give him some playing time. Definitely one to sign up. :33:
  14. Not saying that they should 'bail out the compnay's finances'. Simply that there should be a bit more investment in other aspects of the club, youth, merchandise, equipment etc etc.
  15. so the debt has been passed over to another company. who owns the other 50% then? is it sutherland?
  16. it would be good to have some money made available for transfers, in no way do i expect this to happen, and it is most football fans biggest gripe. however i in no way want the club to be financially reliant on its shareholders/directors, but perhaps a little money towards improving the youth system, merchandise, facilties, training equipment etc? this wouldn't go towards the running costs, and wouldn't make the club reliant on anyone. just a dream anyways..... caleyd, i haven't heard this story about how the debt disappeared, could you shed some light on the issue?
  17. so it is too much to ask our directors, most of whom i am sure will be shareholders, to put a little money into the club? any football club requires investment, we required someone to step in and prevent disaster a few years back and Sutherland did just that, and while we are making losses and going further into the red, while not being able to guarantee any form of supplementary income during the season, surely it would not be too much to ask for our directors to put a little money in to keep the club going? i put my money in, do my bit as do the others who follow the team, and if i had money at my disposal and more of an expendable income then i wouldn't hesitate to do a bit more. perhaps they already have sunk some money in, none of my business, just my view on the role of a director.
  18. right fair enough, in a bit of a huff when i wrote that. although i never said a word against the locals, they go to lengths to get accurate information, but it does get annoying when the NOTW, the Mail or the Express all or a variation of 2 out of the 3 have exactly the same story, obviously written by the same man.
  19. jim spence was talking absolute crap with his post-match analysis, he was saying that it was ony because of two defensive mistakes that dundee lost points. pathetic, why on earth is there a self-proclaimed dundee fan offering just plain lies, even the papers clearly did not have a man at the game, they just went with what that muppet said.
  20. to be honest i couldn't think of another dundee player who had played that well. if that is dundee's limits and that is the extent of their performances this season - :D if we did have roscoe back he would have had harkins in his back pocket.
  21. fantastic first half, the second calmed down quite a bit, but the players seemed to prove a point. coming back from 1-0 then 2-1 down against a team who spent more in one summer than we have on transfers in our entire history, a point well-earned. foran and sanchez were immense up front, altho sanchez perhaps a little lacking in strikers sharpness when fluffing two shots in the 2nd when he probably should have scored both. the midfield was strong, cox and hayes in particular, eagles seems to either be lacking match fitness (surely not) or just confidence. stratford was strong, but at times let a few players forget he was there. defence was excellent, lionel and munro superb and bulvitis did a good job when covering for proctor and placing the clamps on harkins. proctor though was probably the weak link, didn't track back well in the first half, was at fault for the 2 goal, improved in the 2nd half, but then that was mostly with hayes tracking back as well. once roscoe is back then we will have the best defence in the division. good point, even with 3 key players missing (and if dundee were without harkins, kerr or bullock we would have beaten them easily).
  22. not good not good. a loss two years running? there was me thinking we were on of the best run clubs around. not quite in the millions region, but if we don't generate some money this year from cups/promotion, and assuming none of our esteemed director decide to put in some money into the club, then it'll be getting to that stage.
  23. Does anyone have ESPN? i've been told that its pretty decent but i have looked at their schedule, and it looks like a Setanta blueprint, alright showings of live games but constant repeats of programmes.
