  1. Somehow don't think tel is the type of manager who would jump without feeling he has done a good enough job at his current club.
  2. Like i said, the only reason we haven't secured all six points from the last two games is because we haven't been able to capitalise on our pressure, apart from that we have played well. Mcbain did very well against midden marking dorman, and every other player is there on merit. One of the major factors of butchers 'success' (if we stay up) has been his belief in players, giving them the confidence to go on and get us away from the bottom. If we keep the faith then the players will gain the confidence they need to go on to the game this weekend and win. The last game of the season is no time to be making wholesale changes to a stable team.
  3. don't even think elvis will be banned, these bans usually take a game or two to kick in.
  4. Proctor has done well since he has come in, apart from him we don't really have a right-sided midfielder to step into that role. He has provided good cover for tokely when he was at right-back, and now he is back in his defensive position he has done well safeguarding the flanks. Play mike in goals, lionel at left-back, roscoe and munro (had a good game today) at centre-back and proctor at right back. Keep dougie, black, kerr and mcbain in midfield, and play foran and morais up front. That team has done well over the last couple of games, and the only problem has been not being able to capitalise on pressure.
  5. As i have said in other posts, the board are stupid not to be reducing prices for this game, and if they don't act within the next two days then they will have an amazingly low crowd for the biggest game in the club's history. Usually there are large gaps at either end if the main stand and a sparse crowd on the right hand side of the north stand, if they reduced prices and showed a little foresight then these spaces would be filled. Falkirk have already filled out their allocation and we need to do so too. Fans will not turn up in their numbers for this game, the only reason we get an almost full crowd for old firm games is because most of the extras are old firm fans sneaking into the home end. Its a sad fact, but most of our fans just don't turn up. Most of the blame for this predicament falls at the feet of brewster and his demolition of the old ict team. Everyone i speak to now feels exactly the same way, that caley are sh*te and not worth seeing. The same people previously might have gone to the home games more often, but have been put off by our pre-butcher form. the board need to reduce the ticket prices to get the fans in through the turnstiles, and i as a season ticket holder would not complain if the atmosphere was to be dramatically increased.
  6. The board acted decently when it came to sacking brew, but the real disappointment is in their ticket pricing strategy. This 4 game season ticket is an absolute shambles, and we are the only team in the bottom six to not have offered a significantly reduced ticket price for a game. Tommorrow moring the board have to come out and state that they will be reducing ticket prices for the falkirk game to ?5 for concessions and ?8 for adults. I fear an embarrasingly low crowd in saturday if not.
  7. We were the better side until the latter stages of the second half, we could and maybe should have been at least one goal ahead by half-time. We looked like we were going to continue in the same vein in the 2nd but then killie scored a quick breakaway with lionel posted missing at the back post, and from then on it was all them. No potency in the 2nd half, and lacked imagination. Disappointing, but it does set up the biggest match ever next saturday.
  8. assuming st mirren continue their run of form and lose to falkirk, then if we get one more point then we are safe. although if st mirren win then it all goes down to the last game, which we would probably struggle in. :021: :crazy03: :019: :016:
  9. good point, all we need is one more and we are safe :021: :016:
  10. i'll be there :023: :028:
  11. LEGENDARY one man is never bigger than a club, but roscoe comes pretty close. key in fighting off relegation, and the most entertaining player ever to play in ICT colours. i could go on...
  12. Keeping with Dougie, either that or Andy Andy Andy Barrowman (just the way he air-shot that late chance on saturday made me think he'll go on and score an extremely important goal). However i'd love to see a roscoe volley from 40 yards. Or a Dzebi-Zadi goal of any description.
  13. Good game in which we should have taken the three points, we played to our strengths (particularly foran up front) and almost got the win which would have secured another spl season. Lionel was decent in the first half, got better in the 2nd but still made glaring errors that were lucky not to end up as goals. Proctor was pretty poor and his delivery annoyed me, but still did well to stem hamiltons attacking flow. MOM definitely Foran. Beautiful goal and excellent performance. Sort of showed Imrie how to channel passion and agression, jumping for everything and putting himself on the line, instead of running around like a headless chicken before playing the wrong ball. Still, i'm sure he's going to score the goal that keeps us up.
  14. Red and Blue stripes should always be the home strip (plus a wee bit of black to appease the old thistle fans). Away strip should always be white with side strips of red a la 04/05.
  15. some have started to do down a little easier as well, remembering foran yesterday going down and quickly getting back on his feet when the ball came back to him. Not a bad thing, we need to stop being such a nicey-nicey team and start becoming more of a hamilton/kilmarnock. hope this doesn't go to the players heads, but it was a fantastic game to be at, more memorable than aberdeen by a mile.
  16. great news if true, but i doubt this story's credibility.
  17. didn't hear anything about a bust-up, maybe mike did enough in training to prove he wants to keep ICT up. Although, esson did look decidedly moody in the warm-up. :thumb04:
  18. job aint done yet, but all we need now is another couple of performances like that and we are safe once again. don't underestimate just how good butchers tactics were today, he got mcbain marking dormant spot-on and barrowman up front with foran was excellent.
  19. Roscoe is an absolute LEGEND. Wan every ball in defence, countless times he outjumped 'jimmy' hamilton (feckin annoying tannoyman who didn't aknowledge the caley scorers) and kept everything under control. Then he pops up and scores THE best goal ever completely out of the blue, a fantastic reaction from the fans and the players. One of the GREAT goals to witness first-hand. Probably the best performance for months, although we didn't really control the game at any point (maybe for the first ten minutes of the second half) we showed the bottle and never-say-die attitude that we need. Roscoe simply epitomises everything good about ICT, especially today. Must be sore for midden fans, tokely scoring a late winner. Black was superb, foran was tireless, imrie was immense down the wing and mikey was flawless. These three points may be the biggest in the clubs history. Also, barrowman being ten times better than rooney isn't as laughable as you might think, he did well when he was on the pitch, and although rooney was given the thankless task of lone striker he didn't impress. once again, TOKELY IS VICTORIOUS. :thumb04:
  20. Was allowed 3 words in the lonely hearts under the column ''what do you like in a woman''. Unfortunately ''My Erect *****'' is not allowed. 'I definitely want Brooklyn to be christened, but I don't know into what religion yet.' - David Beckham 'I would not be bothered if we lost every game as long as we won the league.' - Mark Viduka 'I'd like to play for an Italian club, like Barcelona.' - Mark Draper BEAT THEM...
  21. first thing he did was kick out the youngsters, bring in the experience; lo and behold we start winning games. only bring in youngsters that are good enough/ready; not wood or vigurs.
  22. Pat McCourt on loan wouldn't be bad. The problem is we never give loanees any games, in case it upsets the balance of the squad or whatever. Teams in england definitely believe that we are separate from the uk, they will never give us any players of worth.
  23. no chance, by all accounts he is impressing at west brom and played very well in a couplle of games.
  24. From the P+J: "Ryan Esson has played down his chances of a Scotland call-up and says he is only concentrating on keeping Caley Thistle in the SPL. The former under-21's international's good form has given him a chance of being picked for the forthcoming Scotland B side's fixture against Northern Ireland at Clyde's Broadwood Stadium on May 6. The SPL's much criticised post-split fixture list has ruled out several potential call-ups, with the New Firm derby and Edinburgh derby scheduled to be played just 24 hours after the game. Esson and team-mate Ian Black now have a better chance of making the squad." IMO there have been number of caley players down the years that have been ignored by the B set-up, apart from when we hosted the game against Turkey when Black and Dargo were given the 'regional pick' to try to pull in extra fans, and also a few by the national first team. Think along the lines of Darren Dods, Don Cowie, John Rankin, Craig Dargo (for the first team), Mark Brown, Dougie Imrie (although some of you will not agree with me on that one) and Ian Black. Any one of those should have been at least in the B squad regularly. Only because they were playing for an 'unfashionable' team they are not picked. Time and time again they were ignored and the scotland set-up definitely lost out big time. If they had been, they would have impressed and we would have had our first scotland internationals by now.
  25. Has roscoe actually scored this season?? I can't remember. if he hasn't i'd fancy a sly bet on him grabbing the one that keeps us up in the spl. i think i'd have a heart attack.
