One of the brightest talents to emerge from our youth system in years. I disagree with the lack of going in for 50-50s. When he played against Rangers i recall him successfully disposessing Broadfoot and Steven Davis in challenges that some players wouldn't go in for. He carries a sweet left foot shot and cross and his set pieces are fairly impressive(apart from free-kicks )

According to BBC Butcher has dropped the media commitments. I for one don't think we could have got any better as i think Terry Butcher was the best manager to select out of all who applied and all this talk of commitment to keeping us up is sad. What manager wouldn't do all within his power to get his team of the bottom??? I think all we can really do now is back the new coaching staff, get right behind the team and turn up in numbers on Sunday to try and put one over on our old foes from Parkhead.

I certainly won't miss him for the next few games. He is well past his best now and has shown it the last couple of games and what he did on Saturday was just plain stupid. The only game he has played well in was the Partick game which i think highlights McBain is ready for lower league football.

He will go to either Hibs or Falkirk imo. Hibs will pack of Ma-Kalamby so it will be Brown and Szamotulski or theirs Falkirk who only have one permanent keeper in Robert Olegnik. I reckon we should may'be try and get Graham Smith from Rangers or mayb'e that Trinidad guy Kelvin Jack. Both are avaiable i think.
  6. I had read that Grassa and whoever else conducted interviews questioned applicants commitment to the cause of keeping ICT in the spl. If Terry Butchers juggling between his international duty then he is not the man for ICT if thats the case. Knox is the man of my choice.
  7. John Rankins 40 yard lob over Scott Higgins was certainly one to remember. Cowie vs Kille at Rugby Park last season, top corner from abput 25 yards. It's on a YouTube vid i think. Richie Harts pile-driver vs Alloa 3 seasons ago from about 45 yards. Barry Wilson hit a wonderful free kick against Keith last summer in pre-season. Marius Niculaes 2nd goal for Caley against Arbroath. It was an out swinger but it got so much swerve that it floated over the keep and into the top corner via the post. But Dougies is arguably the best,
  8. He may be on numbered time at ICT but he is still a key player and will be totally committed to the cause of keeping us up. To not play him is simply foolish as our present squad lacks enough quality as it is.
  9. There where times when he looked as though he had some potential but unfortunately he just didn't have what it took and that should have been noticed ages ago. Some regular football will do him no harm and all we can do is wish him well for the future.
  10. Wanted to be there i'm sorry. Unfortunately prelim revision got the better of me.

If the likes of Fergie are thinking highly of Archie Knox then i say take him. He may have never managed before but i think this could be a good stage for him to start at. Having just been around clubs like Man U and Blackburn etc then i think his experience could be vital.
  12. I would imagine that Doc and Grassa knew fine well that Brewsters tactics were negative and pritty hopeless. Heard rumours that Brewster pritty much ignored all advice that was given to him by others and persisted with his daft 4-5-1. Imo the team will now be on it's toes knowing it will have a new gaffer to impress so i can see some sort of result, i'd even take a well earned point from tynecastle. Only downfall is that Brewsters sacking hasn't solved the issue up front so i think unless the midfield has a good day it's going to be hard to get goals.
  13. One of the greatest show's of my childhood haha. Robbo, Ardiles, and a randomer that no one expected.
  14. They gave it there all last night and i felt so sorry for them. Brought back dark memories watching that game.
  15. I imagine it will be a 4 horse race between Robbo, Butcher, Ordiles and possibly Archie Knox. At least this time Brewster CAN'T be in the running. If Ordiles were to get the job i imagine people will be attending games just to see the man.

As far as i remember i didn't know anyone that wanted Brewster back and cursed at my computer the night i found out he was in the running.

Did he not get sacked by Clyde for battering a player?

Perhaps, but maybe this would be a better pastime. I think i might send that to George Fraser for his Christmas next year. As well as sending Brew football manager.

I won the Scottish Cup with Caley Thistle on Championship Manager 00/01 after being 2-0 down against Celtic! Got it back to 2-2 and won on penalties. Wonder if Mike Smith would look at an application from me if i say that.
  20. I think since the 4 new signings were made the squad looks in slightly better shape but we defnitely need another 3 or 4 signings with a striker being the top priority now. I also think theres 2 or 3 players in our current squad who really need a reality check as to whether there SPL standard or not but i look forward to the final 12 days of the transfer market.

Their really quite pathetic. The way they all just hid away and preyed it would all get better was quite ridiculous but in fairness they did somehow develope the bottle to sack Brewster, but if we go down i'm guessing it will be reflected on the basis of too little, too late. I don't know how George Fraser finds the time to be chairman of ICT because since he has i've only seen him get interviewed once and i think what the press say at the end of each paragraph certainly highlights perhaps the lack of commitment put into running the club "George Fraser was away on buisness and unable to comment on the matter."
  22. Barry Wilson has said this on the last 3 occasions now. When Brewster first left he said this. When Charlie Christie resigned he said it again. And now that Brews got the boot he's made it a hat-trick.
  23. AJS replied to CELTIC1CALEY3's topic in Caley Thistle
Thats harsh, he is one of our more promising players as well.
  24. Esson Tokely, Munro, Mihadjuks, Hastings Morais, Black, Cowie, Vigurs Rooney, Wood Fraser, Byrne, Duff, McBain, Imrie, Barrowman, Gathuessi.

Any better? hmm that might be even worse seeing an england captain in a scotland tracksuit! He's probably talking to Shaun Maloney and Kris Commons.
