He was great today and i think we should defnitely extend his stay here as he and Munro seem to have forged a great partnership at the back.

I think we will need 1 more player defnitely but with Cowie going i think that will leave us need another wide player so plus Kerr, i would not object to the idea of Jim Paterson or Stevie Smith either would do me. I don't think Big Terry will just settle for one signing tomorrow.
  3. Just goes to show where speaking out can get you.
  4. I think it depends whether your signing the player or loosing a player as to whether you don't like them or not. I don't think there would have been any way of stopping Blackie going to Hearts, perhaps if another club but not Hearts. Even if Butcher had come in a month ago. Fraser possibly and same with Cowie. I won't get to bothered over the loss of Fraser but Cowie will be hard act to replace in midfield, while the potential signings of Brian Kerr and Jim Paterson are encouraging they are very different midfielders and are at a very different point in their careers to Cowie. Whats also rather annoying to the point is that over the last three seasons all our key players have left for either nothing or cut prices. Dods, Brown, Dargo, and now Black, Cowie, Fraser, think of how much money we have lost in terms of transfer value.

As i recall we tryed to sign McManus twice while he was at Dundee and then Dunfermline and on both occasions he snubbed to stay in the 1st division.
  6. It will certainly make the final few months very intresting yes. Knowing that for once we have got everything to play for so there will be no excuse to sit back once the split fixtures are decided. Hopefully if we stay up in our final home game there will be a pitch invasion. I miss them

Better change mine given its been a busy week in the transfer market. Esson Tokely, Munro, Mihadjuks, Byrne Zander, Duncan, Black, Vigurs Foran, Imrie subs. Fraser, McGuire, Duff, Morais(if at all fit), Rooney, Odhiambo, Wood
  8. Finally some strikers with a decent pedigree arrive. Wonder what this means for Barrowman. Delighted to see that Foran is here and Odhiambo is simply a bonus, lets hope he cuts the mustard here. Butcher so far knows how to pick his players.

Because Craig Brewster was our manager.

Are we just suggesting Tam McManus? If we are yes i think he'd be a good edition to our team. I would imagine Brian Kerr will end up joining us now, good signing he would be too.
  11. I haven't looked forward to going to a home game this much since....i can't even remember.
  12. Well he did score a spectacular strike against them last year...one of the greatest strikes i've ever seen in the flesh. Hopefully he will get some regular football there and a bit of experience.
  13. Yes Black should defnitely play against Celtic as there is no one left to play in the centre midfield because if things are as they stand.... Cowie will join Watford NOW therefore he will probably be gone by Sunday and even if we do sign Brian Kerr he is not going to be match fit at all. That makes him fit for the bench at the most. So that leaves us with Black and Duncan so unless we plan on some other daft formation where we resort to playing simply one central midfield player i really don't think Terry Butcher has much choice. Also for the fact that i agree with all that Black will be totally committed to the cause of keeping us up and would love to depart ICT at the end of the season knowing he played his part in keeping us up....if we stay up.

He handles the media very well, listened to his press conference when he signed and he was really good i thought. I like what he's doing so far and he appears to be motivating the players and hopefully it will bring some results(hopefully on Sunday).
  15. Both were decent people to meet but were incredibly difficult to work with....so i'm told.

Say Nak if your taking Cowie any chance of us getting Jobi McAnuff in exchange??? I watched him playing on Sky Sports a wee while back and he looked immense. what you say?
  17. Would imagine that this would mean going with Richie Byrne at left-back i reckon, if he's match fit. Keep Black and Cowie on and play Vigurs just behind the striker.
  18. When Brewster was first here home form was poor. when he returned it slowly got even worse. New manager means new things will happen, i agree. I can see a real turnaround in our home form coming.
  19. AJS replied to Johnboy's topic in Caley Thistle
Indeed it is a new era, 2 years too late but it is a new era. Butcher certainly show's alot more personality than Brewster ever did in interviews and i have to admit that i didn't disagree with a word he said last night. Lets just hope results come now.
  20. Chris Iwelumo's finishing...
  21. He was the best possible canditate who we could get and i'm fairly confident he can guide us away from relegation. Only one answer...yes.
  22. If any other club but Hearts had tried to prize Robbo away 4 seasons ago i'm convinced he would still be our manager now. I agree that if Butcher fails then bringing him back would be a sensible soloution but i'am positive about Butcher.
  23. AJS replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
didnt he come from elgin??? He did, but strictly speaking when he joined he was drafted into our under 19 system as i recall therefore he did technically progress through our youth system.
  24. AJS replied to Renegade's topic in Caley Thistle
He was an international quality defender in his days though. Who know's, perhaps he can mould the misfits mentioned above into decent players although i wouldn't hold my breath
  25. I bet Brian Kerr will be one of our new signings now given he is on a free and was good player under Butcher at Motherwell. He defnitely needs to bring in a striker though, i wonder if Barry is the one allegedly returning??
