  1. I believe changes will come with time. I also believe CC is doing things right (on the whole) so far. He inherited a decent outfit which is performing well enough, to have come in and started making any kind of wholesale changes would have been very risky and stunk of arrogance. Not only is he taking time to find his feet, he is also taking the time to allow his own confidence to grow. He has shown that he is capable of making the right substitutions at the right time in games, and the more he continues to do that the more comfortable he will become with making changes, then from that will come changes to the starting line-up. I don't disagree that we could perhaps do with shaking things up a little, but I don't think it should be something which is forced. We are doing OK - the league table doesn't lie - but we are certainly not safe enough to start experimenting wholesale. Slowly, Slowly, Catchy, Monkey and all that
  2. Story Link If they can't even count the number of digits in a number what the feck chance have they got of making the books balance!!! :015:
  3. I think your being a little naive RiG, the act of waving the flag itself may be ok, but we all know that a large portion of those waving the tricolor do it with the intent of stirring up some kind of controversy, just as those Rangers fans who choose to wave the Union Flag and the St George's Cross do. Unfortunately these flags have been hijacked by and have become symbols for extremist elements, the same cannot be said for the T&T flag, and the two scenarios are a world apart. I do agree that their is little that can be done about someone waving a flag though, and if society chose to ignore/deny the significance that has been attached to them and concentrated on dealing with the issues that can be clearly set apart as sectarian (songs and chants etc) then we may start to make inroads into the problems.
  4. I try not to think - it hurts too much.

If the Courier/HN had printed a full back page on it we would be on here arguing things from the opposite angle...would be a boring world if we all thought the same wouldn't it!!!

  7. The thing is, many people think Romanov is getting his come-uppence when in fact he is getting exactly everything he wants and has been aiming for since day 1. They guy may be a little on the crazy side but I don't believe he is as stupid as everyone thinks. All he is/was interested in was the real estate that came with taking over Hearts and at this rate he is goig tbe have flats built on it by 2010 with the excuse that the situation at the club become unworkable for him as his excuse for just brushing aside everything.
  8. I thought we saw the best of Hastings when Morgan was playing in front of him on the left a couple of times last season, the two of them worked the left as well as Rossco and Wilson worked the right so it may be McBain that is the issue on that one. Also in the match v the Dons I thought Hastings did tremendously well going forward on a couple of occasions and I would even be tempted to try him out on the left if we had a better option at left back.
  9. The gas pipe is the main reason that anything more than a shorter/shallower version of the end stands would have to generate income to give the funds to faciliate the extra cost involved in shoring up the ground above it or relocating it. For the sake of "completeness" then a fourth stand would be good, but from a practical standpoint I think it makes more sense to have corner pods as the next priority as these can contain office/corproate facilites and would be far cheaper. I know a lot of people will probably disagree but I think their is something rather appealing about the stadium being open to the road so that all who pass over the bridge and see it can look right in to the ground, if the stadium was located elsewhere then this would seem totally wrong, but something about the current setup just feels right from a passer-bys perspective. It's likes it open and inviting people in somehow.
  10. I have merged topics but I haven't deleted anything
  11. Now thats funny :015:
  12. Disagree with your point about Dargo being "one player who'll keep running all game long" - that may have been the case last season, but from I have seen and heard this season he isn't chasing a fraction of what he was. And IF he was chasing everything all game long then surely fresh legs is the answer, therefor justifying the substitution???

RiG, you constantly moan about the poor atmosphere at games, then when people get a little excited about the prospect of a good finish in the SPL and the possibility of bigger things your on their backs for getting carried away!!!! It's the fans place to get excited about these things and use that energy to fuel thier support for the team on matchdays, it's the job of CC and the rest of the management team aswell as the players to keep their feet on the ground (as well as the ball..pleaseee) in order to keep grinding out the results and fueling the excitement for the fans.
  15. Yes, but only from the entirely selfish point of view that I struggle to make Saturdays just now with work. Saturday 4pm should be football time at the end of the day though and everything else should revolve around it....including my shifts :001:
  16. Never trust an ancient philosopher with a stutter!!! Although I do find it hard to believe that they can - once again - fail to give ICT the credit they deserve with regards to news coverage it does not suprise me in the slightest. I'm sure thier is some benefit of remaining out of the spotlight though, keeps the pressure off the team a bit.
  17. Thats not what you said - it's there for all to see. You said that you believe Utd will find themselves in the Top 6 come the end of the season, possibly at our expense and that ICT should be concentrating on survival first....surely these scenario's should be reversed unless you have more faith in Levein turning things around at Tannadice and marching up the table to replace us than you have in ICT sustaining a top 6??? I agree we should be keeping our feet on the ground at ICT given how tight the table is at the moment, I just find your logic that United are more likely to finish top 6 than us very strange.
  18. How can you say in one thread that ICT (who are currently sitting in the top 6) should be concentrating on securing SPL survival and not thinking about a top 6 at the moment then come on to another an say that bottom of the league United who are 10 points behind us will IYO be looking at a top 6 - very bizarre :017:
  19. Yeah, I just find it hard to believe anything sinister has happened...never know though.
  20. Gutted for the wee man, surely it can't be a performance based decision only 12 games in? I get the feeling that Pele gave them the nod that he was interested if the job was available and they have come up with some BS excuse for giving Stewart the push. Peterhead were doing well under Stewart but I doubt anyone will deny that Pele has the potential (and track record) to take them to the next level.
  21. Probably about 26 games ago :001:

I see what you are saying, I just don't think it will be in any way unsettling for the squad since they know he is offskee anyways. Mountains out of molehills and all that!!
  23. CaleyD replied to davieB's topic in Caley Thistle
Harry, there's no secret in the fact Dods is offskee next summer. I therefore see little harm in him advertising the fact in the press to see who will come in for him. If a couple of teams show interest we may just get an offer high enough to let him go in January. Dods has already shown in his efforts this season that he is 100% committed to the shirt while he remains here so I have little worry on that front.
  24. Ralph, What really pi55ed me off about Brewster..... 1. His statements about being commited to the club 48 hours before the announcment he was off. 2. His arrogance at thinking he could remain in charge for the 2 games following the announcement he was off. 3. His constant attempts to sign our players and the manner in which he used the press to try and unsettle our squad. Yes, he did make a contribution to the squad during his time as Manager here, but his actions leading up to, during and following his departure were - IMO - two fingers to the support we showed him while he was manager, and for that he deserves no more than he has got. I think it was Grassa who made a comment about Robbo when he was being touted for a return to us - along the lines of "he has a place on our wall of fame and that's where he will be staying". For me, Brewster didn't do enough during his time here to merit even that accolade.
