I strongly disagree. The realists know that with ICT's recent history of such things that anything is possible and that Brew staying or going is far from certain.
-
I think that's probably about as good as we could have asked for to be honest. If I could have picked 2 away days it would have been Hearts and Falkirk. Gretna at home avoids the possible embarrassment of another 3-figure crowd. No Long journey to Killie. St Mirrens a chit hole.

Robbo in the dugout on matchday and taking care of team tactics. Brewster in charge of health and fitness. Pele as Sports Psychologist and #2 in the dugout. :001:
-
I got to about the third line and then a migraine kicked in :029: One thing I gather from this thread is that the site users seem more evenly split on the prospect of a Robbo return as opposed to the feelings that were going round when Brewster was tipped to return. It's never boring being an ICT Fan.

Rumour has it that Brewster is the man responsible :tic01:

History speaks for itself. The rumours of Brewsters return appeared weeks before CC stepped down and they received the same initial response that it was all BS from people who thought they were "in the know". The "rumours" regarding Robbo carry far more weight when you consider that he is currently being employed by Orion as a "Development Consultant" or something along those lines. This information has been doing the rounds for a while now and the club have yet to make a statement on it one way or the other. You can argue that it has nothing to do with us, but such rumours can be unsettling and if there's nothing in them then what's the harm in the club making a statement to that effect....in fact it would do far more good to end the rumours or to have made comment/statement at the outset to prevent them. Sometimes you can learn a lot more from what's not said than from what is said. Here's another "rumour" that I posted a couple of weeks back when news of Robbo being employed by Orion broke..... Grassa to go to Clach as the new Chairman and Robbo to come in to ICT as Director of Football. If i'm right then I think it is a far more positive development than Robbo coming back in as Manager.

Unfortunately I think those who have hi-jacked the Orange Marches for destructive purposes have become so engrained in the order itself that it has lost it's true reason for existence.....especially here in Inverness where they have just appeared out of the blue and where the Orange Lodge responsible for organising the March see fit to end it at a Rangers Supporters Club instead of a church....that one act alone removes all credibility or claims to "cultural reasoning" for having the event. So whilst I have no objection to the principle of an Orange March, I don't think that's what we have here in Inverness. Remove the Orange Order Banner and all you really have is a couple of hundred Rangers fans looking for a legitimate means to March down the road and give two fingers to their Celtic supporting rivals.....that's not a demonstration, that's inciting a riot.

I am not sure if you are directing this comment towards me CaleyD, if you are I can assure you that in no way am I burying my head in the sand, I value human rights and no matter how much I disagree or agree with any cause I do not believe that people should be prevented from voicing an opinion. Would you mind explaining your use of the phrase "genuine cause"? I am not trying to drag an argument from you but if you put personal feeling aside, about any cause, then one side will see that cause as genuine the other side will see it as a piece of nonsense. That is the beauty of democracy, people can air their feelings to the masses then if the masses are swayed by arguments or protests or demonstrations the democratic process can take effect if, however, the masses still view the action as nonsense then the marchers, protesters or demonstrators will at best have wasted their time and at worst damaged their cause further. Not aimed at you specifically. The point I am making is that without genuine reason you can't have genuine cause. Any organisation which allows itself to be hijacked for some other means by people who have no understanding of it's roots or history loses it's identity and reason for existence. The last time I checked the history books William of Orange didn't lead his troops into battle wearing Rangers Shirts and Orange Marches took place between lodges and churches, not lodges and the local Rangers Supporters Club. In other words the March is a farce, and as such has no "Genuine Cause", whichever way you try and spin it.

:024: - Funnily enough we seemed to be having the same conversation around about this time last year with regards getting in a commanding Centre Back. I wonder if we'll have this conversation again next April?

I've never watched an ICT training session where at least two people have failed to fall out over something :015: Even if I give you Keogh as a Bust up, that's still only one. I don't think Rankin had any bust up with Christie, he just failed to see what he had to do to get back into the first team.

Johnboy, I don't think we have a desperate need for wholesale changes in the players, but it looks like that's exactly what Brewster and Co are gearing up for. I'm a great believer in the saying "if it's not broken, then don't fix it"...however it seems that those pulling the strings at ICT disagree. What went so terribly wrong with the squad of players we had last season that justifies not only the changes we have seen to date this season, but those which are almost certain to happen in the summer. You can argue that it is what is needed to move the team forward...only time will tell if that's the case. I think to cast aside the values which have served us well for 13 years, kept us progressing steadily and got us where we are is a mighty dangerous game to be playing. It takes just one season to undo 13 years of work, and it'll take a helluva lot longer to put it right again if it doesn't pay off.
-
What bust up did he have with Keogh other than letting him go because he spent more time on the treatment table than he did on the pitch?
-
Believe it or not, but CC was far more into the "Sports Science" side of player development than any other Manager/Head Coach we have ever had and was working alongside one of the top researchers on the subject during his time in charge. From what I understand most players had very individualised programmes. I could be wrong, but this seems to be in stark contrast to a more "one size fits all" training regime which is used by Brewster, and which wasn't liked by a lot of the players during his first stint in charge.
-
I'd Move McBain to Left Back, he played there earlier in the season and I thought he did a terrific job - the position played to his strengths and was more forgiving of his weaknesses.
-
Who are all these players that CC apparently had bust ups with?
-
At this moment in time I have very little idea as to what/who we will need to replace in the summer as everything seems very much up in the air. Who knows which player will be next to "fall out" with Brewster or find themselves out of favour for whatever reason. I'm more anxious as we approach the end of this season than I have been in any other single season with regards to the number of players we may well end up having to bring in and I'm far from confident that these players will be easy to find, if at all possible. Quite frankly, I don't believe we have the necessary personnel in the coaching/management staff to pull off the kind of overhaul it looks like we are heading for and next season looks like it could be very bleak right now.

Head Coach is Brewsters "official" title.

I fail to see what relevance a March of this type has to the people of Inverness. Who here are they trying to prove a point too and why after so long have they decided that there's a need for it? I'm very much live and let live, and if they want to have their March then so be it. I just fail to see the reason or the benefit they think they are getting from it. In fact, I would go so far as to say it p!sses off more people than anything else, and not because of any "religious" beliefs or intolerances...more to do with the shear inconvenience it creates. I also wonder just how many people take part in the March because of a true affiliation to the routes of it and how many just tag along because they are Rangers fans....highlighted by the fact that the majority of the hangers on strut down the road clad in their rangers gear with kids dressed in similar fashion. I find that aspect of it quite pathetic really. You can bury your head in the sand with excuses like "it's their democratic right", and although I would not disagree with that, surely it has to have a genuine cause? The fact that these marches have been hijacked by Rangers Fans and the organisers seem happy for this as it swells numbers brings the real reason for the March into serious doubt IMO. I'd love to do a survey of the people who take part to see just how many of them no the real reasons behind the March. If they want to March and they do it in peaceful fashion then so be it, but lets not hide behind some false pretence that it's anything other than a sham.

He took a knock just as they were finishing up training on Friday but thought he would have been fine for the game on Saturday as it didn't seem too bad. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and he had to sit this one out. Nothing remotely "long term" and he'll be back training as normal tomorrow.

Having removed the "off-topic" portions of the thread, can we now try and keep it on the subject of "Squad Morale" - TY
-
Waiting till some of those at the game give opinion on the "missed opportunities"....one of them was certainly alluded to as being from a tight angle and it sounded like Wyness played it across the goal but Paatelainen(?) believed he was offside so never stuck it home. Chances were being created and Wyness was getting on the end of them, so some positives in that. As I said in the matchday thread, Wyness could and should have perhaps made more of the opportunities but he's not had much first team football of late and to judge him based on a single performance (which didn't sound all bad) would be harsh. I suspect he may not have even been in the squad had it not been for the last minute need to remove Niculae.

Meanwhile, back on the subject of Squad Morale...............
