  1. I thought the (end) response was pretty good to be honest. There's only a finite number of questions you can realistically ask and expect answers too and I believe most of them have been covered.
  2. Censure or no censure, the press should not have been his first port of call for these statements. Had he talked to CC and got no joy and felt he needed to take it further then perhaps people may have been a little more understanding.
  3. Have to back up Chibber with regards to Dargo, he has gone from a player who used to chase everything and create some of his own chances to a player who expects every ball to be given to him at his feet - and if I were to hazard a guess, I would say thats the reason he finds himself being subbed so often. Teams at our level do not have the depth of talent to be constantly spoon feeding forwards who do little else but sit in the box waiting to knock a ball home. So as I see it Dargo has 2 choices, he ups his work rate and starts creating some of his own chances the way he did last year or he moves on - running crying to the press is not an option and helps nobody - all it sounds like is some kind of spoiled brat having a wee temper tantrum. Dargo, most would agree that the service you receive could be better, but when thats not happening then standing around with your finger up your butt isn't going to change anything....go looking for the ball and chase a bit more, you may just find thats enough to keep you on the pitch AND get you a couple of goals.
  4. Welcome to the comedy hour at CaleyThistleOnline.com :017:
  5. If he hasn't, then this kind of thing could tempt others to make it up for him.
  6. Don't think many will disagree with what he has to say, but as he said himself he has not spoken to the Manager about it yet and that should have been the FIRST person he spoke to, not the press. So, although I agree with most of what he says I am disappointed to see him running to the press crying about it the way he has here.

If Brewster had not been a Manager with us and just a player then yes, I could see it being workable that he return, however given the circumstances I think it would likely be disruptive if he was to sign for us. I could be wrong and the only people that can really answer the question are CC and the players.

If you want to re-live that "Cringe" moment when Dods brought down McDonald then Gordon Gillespie (NorthSport) captured the moment on camera and has included it in this weeks selection of Match Pics - Clicky Clicky
  9. Black - think CC see's a bit of himself in the lad and possibly cuts him a bit more slack when it comes to team selection than he does others. Black himself seems to have developed the attitude that he can do no wrong when he is on the pitch and if he targetted the effort he uses arguing and back-chatting the ref back into his game then I think the potential is there. Dods - I believe he is selected ahead of Caff because of his experience and leadership on the park. However, with him now looking to serve a suspension then Caff has to come in and show he is worthy of the place. If he can do that then CC may be tempted to take a cash offer for Dods in the transfer window putting a few more pennies in the bank for much needed players elsewhere. Tokley - Quite simply....who else is there to realistically challenge him for his place Duncan - I still think the guy gets a lot of undeserved flack. Admittedly he nerve shines out in a game, but the players who stand out are just as often those who have a bad game as those who have a good one. He is one of the few players you can rely upon for consistency. Dargo - Don't think we get the best from him playing alongside Bayne. Bayne - Don't think we see the best of him playing as an out and out striker. Would like to see him sittingbehind a front two doing the graft, chasing the ball...basically doing all the leg work for a front two who can then concentrate more on getting into dangerous positions and causing trouble for the opposition. Wyness - He hasn't shown much of his old self in what I have seen of him since he returned, again I think this may be down to the formation and tactics we play and would like to see himgiven a chance alongside Dargo with Bayne sitting in behind them.
  10. Oh feck....your tempting Squirrel's with comments like that :015:
  11. Nothing wrong with the forum when you want to come on here beating down the team and manager any time we suffer a defeat or have a poor performance....and you talk about "predictable drivel" from others :015: Perhaps people would give a little more credence to your contributions if they were balanced and you didn't simply use the forum as a beating stick....where are you when the team is doing well and deserves a bit of praise? I have just had a look through your contributions to this forum and I had to go back to September to find anything resembling any kind of praise for the team or any player...as for CC, you simply cast aside anything he does well under the heading of "luck" or "good fortune" and I doubt you will ever accept that he IS the manager and that he is doing a decent job with the resources available to him at present.
  12. I actually thought Black was one of the worst on the park today, he did absolutely nothing except complain and whine at the ref, then wondered why he was being given no decisions his way. I would have hooked him ahead of Duncan who only appeared anonymous because everyone's attention was fixed on how bad the rest of the team were. Whichever way you call it on individual players, the fact of the matter is that they were not playing as a unit, players out of place all over the shop, balls being played to areas of the park where we should have had players - but nobody there, scrappy tackling, players scared to run at opposition defenders, players unwilling to take shots at goal until after we went one down...all in all a very poor game all round. Who knows if CC had a decent game plan or not because whatever it was the players on the pitch (collectively) were unable to execute it - unless of course the plan was to go out and play like a bunch of amatuers. I'm not calling for anyones head or suggesting anyone be dropped/sacked or such like, even the top teams have days where everything is a disaster. The important thing is what the team and management learn from it and the action they take to improve things.
  13. That really was a poor performance by both teams. Couldn't believe Dods got MotM to start with, then watched in disbelief as he made the tackle he did. Was no need for it, the angle was tight and Brown was at the near post covering it. I'd also like to know what was going through the minds of those who gave Dods a standing ovation as he left the field having just cost us the game - you'd have thought he had just scored the winning goal or something :017:
  14. We should just kidnap Sonny and throw him down a mineshaft!!!! Something a bit different for a starting 11...... ----------------- Brown ----------------- --------Rossco - Dods - Munro-------- Wilson - Duncan - Rankin - Hastings ------------------ Bayne ------------------ ------------Dargo - Wyness------------ Gives Hastings a chance to push forward more and he can also drop back if things get rough at the back and we need additional cover and Rankin can then go wide left. Bayne can sit in behind Dargo and Wyness and do all the leg work and lay off to two players who have (historically) shown a bit more of a goal instinct. He is also capable of dropping back to the middle of the park should Hastings need to drop back to recreate the back four. Lets put his hard work and pressuring of the opposition to best use instead of just lumping long balls up to him. Having Bayne in behind the front two also means they should have to drop back less and remain in more dangerous position. This picking a team thing is a piece of p1ss really isn't it :001:

Was listening to "Kiss - Crazy Crazy Nights" earlier and couldn't help replacing the chorus with "Caley Caley Caley Caley Jags"
  16. Dargo would probably be cheaper :015:
  17. In that last pic, some people have shodows and others don't.....does Toronto have a high vampire population??? Seriously though, many of these initiatives would be worth considering over here but they have to be taken on properly and a commitment made to the running and sustaining of them. We have seen many of the SPL clubs (past and present) try out cheap ticketing ideas etc and then bin them after only a short time. These things have to be viewed long term and if anyone is looking to invest cash in ICT in the near future then I personally think it is worth risking a healthy amount of it in bank-rolling these ideas to give them a chance to get off the ground.
  18. It's called "keeping your feet on the ground" - as fans it is our job to be the ones getting carried away every week, wether it's due to a good or a bad result. It's CC's job to steer a steady ship and getting carried away or going to the extremes in his actions or comments is not going to achieve that. Personally I enjoy listening to CC's interviews, they are more often than not a true reflection of how things have gone/are going - if anything, he is guilty of being the opposite of the accusations presented in the opening post on this thread as (overall) we are doing pretty darn well this season and the players (and cc) deserve all the praise they get - and more!!!
  19. Pics from the party courtesy of Johnboy can be viewed/rated and commented on now in the gallery. Clicky Clicky Thing If anyone else has pics from the night out and they want them added e.mail them to me at [email protected] and I'll get them included - don't worry about resizing or anything as the album takes care of all that automatically when I upload them anyway. Apologise for not making the party, I had to be up for work early this morning (probably around the time most of you were getting to bed) - This golf outing idea sounds intriguing though!!!
  20. Can't see the club allowing him to go on loan TBH, he just has to bide his time (and bring his ego in to check) and he will get his chance again this season. He also needs to spend a little less time talking to the press and bigging himself up and touting himself to other clubs as he obviously seems to be doing (again) here. The guy has obvious talent, just needs to become more of a team player IMO.
  21. I was sorely tempted to close the thread when I saw it, but I believe most of our site users are responsible enough to "self moderate" with regards to these things. I also think it is sometimes better to leave these things so as we, the fans, can make our opinion known regarding the levels certain types of journalist will stoop too in order to fill a few column inches.
  22. Totally disagree with the point regarding subs. I think CC makes intelligent use of substitutes and if you look back at the timings you will see that they varely largely, which IMO, shows he is making changes with a purpose and not just because the game is coming to an end and he is panicing or making changes for the sake of it (Games we are winning aside where changes are often made to eat up the clock). From having a quick glance at the stats I would say about 40% of our substitutions have been made before the 75 minute mark.
  23. A lot of feckin use they would be if you left them at home!!!!!
  24. Must have been a slow news day and if you read the quotes and ignore the journalists attempts to sensationalise the whole thing you can see it looks to be no more than a heated argument. Discussion of players and their personal lives has always been discouraged on here, but since this (non) story has made the national press then I am happy to leave it open for discussion (for now). However, should discussion stray from the facts and degenerate into people simply using it to have a go at one or other party then I will not hesitate to close and/or remove the thread. Hopefully forum users will (as they often do) recognise this as nothing more than 'gutter press' and not give the journalist responsible the reaction he is obviously looking for.
  25. Don't think we should be reading too much into the situation or conjuring up conspiracy theories. It could just as easily be CC playing with different options in the midfield, for which we have an abundance of players all worthy of wearing the shirt and getting a starting place.
