  1. All very strange - I could understand the issue (kinda) if your kids were like 10 or 11 or something, but 24??? Please tell me that was a typo :017: At the end of the day it's a pub and kids shouldn't be there, was never like that when I was a lad, we were given a pack of crisps and a tin of juice and left to sit on the pavement outside. No wonder kids or so soft these days, not to mention the fact many of them are alcoholics by the age of 14. *insert tongue in cheek smiley here* Seriously though, I can understand you being a bit peeved at not being able to get in to your regular watering hole because it is full, but I fail to see you getting any kind of positive response from the visiting fans regarding the matter. We aren't likely to pitch up there later in the year and say "Oh aye, better not go to Diggers because Racaille_Verte might want to take his kids in to the back room for drink". Maybe if you tried getting there a bit earlier that may solve the problem, and then it will be the visiting fans who have to find somewhere else because it is full. The landlord isn't likely to turn away trade on the off chance someone more "worthy" may turn up later wanting a drink, all he's likely to be interested inis people spending money...be that yours or ours, I doubt he really cares.
  2. Simply copying and pasting the link would be one way as the forum software will automatically recognise it as a link and insert the relevant code to make it clickable. The other way is to use the "Insert Hyperlink" (looks like a globe) button when entering a new post/reply. This is the prefered method as it prevents longggggg URL's which can sometimes break the page. We only ask that people do it to give credit to the originating source and prevent any copyright wrangles. The use of Red Text had the desired effect of drawing the point to people's attention, if people would prefer I used a less "Thistle Orientated" colour then please let me know :015:
  3. Link to Report on Wick Aademy site - Clicky Clicky NOTE: If posting information from elsewhere on the web (especially whole articles/reports), please supply a link to the original content along with it - thanks
  4. I used to live across the street from McSwegan - has feck all to do with him signing, or what I think of him as a player, just thought I'd drop it in here before I feck off for the evening :015:
  5. I'd rather we didn't sign anyone and kept the money for the January window than just sign someone for the sake of it. CC is hardly going to come out and say he isn't happy with the squad is he? That would be as good as telling the guys who may be in with a chance of a squad place that they needn't bother trying and that helps nobody. I doubt he would deny that it would have been good to strengthen things, but we have what we have and if the players we want/need aren't available then we have to do the best we can with what we have.
  6. Since this site moved to it's current location it has recorded visits from 97 different countries. Taking the UK out of the equation, USA & Canada make up around 40% of visits from the rest, closely followed by Australia, France, Germany and Japan (so the Japan statement above isn't so stupid). I don't know if the club have done any research into this (I very much doubt it as they have never approached us, as far as I am aware, for any such information) but ICT already have a (small but growing) global following, or at least something is attracting attention to us around the world, it therefore makes sense to try and build on that and tap into a wider market. When you consider that there are 193 countries in the world, and then make allowance for the number of those which will have little, if any, Internet facilities then it is a pretty amazing how wide spread the name Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC really has spread in such a short time
  7. If you haven't heard of Alan Savage then you will almost definitely have heard of the Orion Group.
  8. Not unusual for an incoming Chairman to make a personal investment in a club. Not seen any newspapers or anything this morning, but from what I have heard and seen of Alan Savage I have a feeling he will be instrumental in lifting the club to the next level. Time will tell.
  9. A few people in the chatroom if your feelin a bit lonely on here TBB :015:
  10. LINE UPS Hearts Gordon, Costa, Pressley, Karipidis, Zaliukas, Wallace, Mikoliunas, Hartley, McCann, Pinilla, Mole Subs: Makela, Driver, Beslija, Aguiar, Lithgow, Fyssas, Banks ICT Brown, Tokely, Dods, Munro, Hastings, Wilson, Black, Rankin, McBain, Wyness, Bayne Subs: McAllister, Sutherland, Keogh, Duncan, Norgan, McCaffery, Fraser
  11. One player does not a team make - I fancy Rankin to get on the score sheet today, but on the striker front we have Wyness, Bayne and McAllister who all scored mid week so know where the net is. Believeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
  12. The problem does not lie in the laws/systems in place to deal with troublemakers etc. The problem is the fact that existing laws/rules/regulations are not being enforced properly. You can introduce a 1001 ways to deal with these idiots but unless the authorities take proper action against the proper people then nothing will change. Police and Stewards will continue to take the soft option in deciding who to huckle out of grounds as they don't have the support or the balls to get in about a sea of bile spouting OF fans to remove them en masse. I realise the problems do not exist only with OF fans. They can cry victimisation all they like, but that is the largest problem area and that is where efforts need to be concentrated initially to send out the message to everyone. If they are going to be spending money on dealing with the problem, I would far rather it was spent on a task force to support police/stewards in dealing with hot spots, than pen pushers who have probably never attended a match in their puff.
  13. Probably, but casual visitors are not really the target market IMO. One of the key goals of a clubs official site these days is to generate an additional income stream, casual browsers are less likely to click advertising links or register for services. They also want people to register and provide their details so as they can define their market and adapt advertising and services to suit. Not a criticism of the site as it makes sound business sense. Now that they are putting serious resource into the venture they need to cover those costs and hopefully make a bit more on top.
  14. Another half baked idea which will do little or nothing to solve the problem. Police, Stewards and even those running the game (SPL, SFA, FIFA, UEFA) are turning a blind eye to the worst of the issues at the moment and until such time as they start taking action then most offenders will never be brought up on charges for their behaviour or receive FBO's. All that seems to be happening is that the responsibility is being shunted from one authority to another with little or nothing being done. If you want to kill a weed it does no good pulling off a few leaves, you have to get right down to the roots and kill it there. Until such time as the clubs are held proparly accountable for the actions of their own fans then the problem will continue to grow. IMO, these FBO's are just another way of paying lip service to the problem, another government department being set up to drain public money whilst they sit around all day doing feck all.

    A small point

I'm even more disappointed that players don't take the nano-second necessary to acknowledge the crowd when they are clapped off the pitch. They ask the crowd to give more to support them, the least they can do is give a nod, or a raised hand of acknowledgement in return.
  16. I don't think Hart was hooked because CC thought he was having a bad game. If you notice he was subbed shortly after we scored the 2nd goal and we seemed to be in control of the game. Hart was sitting on a yellow and still getting stuck in to the opponents in the centre of the pitch, no point in risking him picking up a 2nd yellow and, for me, it was a sensible decision to replace him.

    Ian Black

Black's mind certainly seemed to be wandering when I saw him today - pressed the button for the Pelican Crossing, sat in a wee world of his own as the wee green man came and went then decided to cross the road. :015:
  18. Yeah, missing out the keeper was being a little over confident :015:
  19. There was an article in the Celtic Programme about the new site and the decisions behind them going it alon as it were. Unfortunately I never realised it was in there until after the match so I don't have a copy. From what I gather the jist of it was pretty much what Scotty has highlighted as the rationale behind things but I shall have to see if I can lay my hands on a full copy to read it properly.
  20. Can't blame it all on the Stewards, at the end of the day it is those behind the wheel of the cars that are driving like @ssholes and creating the problem. If everyone acted in the proper manner you wouldn't need stewards at all. We have all been guilty of it - you see a sneaky opportunity to get a couple of cars closer to the front so you take it, someone else follows and someone else gets peaved because you've just snuck in front of them so they edge closer to car in front to try and stop you, or you are the person that gets peaved and tries to stop someone taking a shortcut past you. You then get those who totally ignore what the Steward is telling them to do, or you get situations occuring across the entire carpark and it is imposible to manage unless you vastly increase the number of Stewards. The biggest difference between our car park and a lot of other similar carparks is that we have no proper layout marked. Your average Joe seems unable to think sensibly if he doesn't have an arrow on the ground telling him/her which way to go and thats when the frenzy begins. Personally I don't see the difference between waiting 30 minutes in the carpark and waiting 30 minutes on the road. It doesn't matter how quick you get cars out there are only so many people you can get on to the roundabout at the bridge or out through the town at a time anyway. Someone has to be last out and if you don't want it to be you then either park elsewhere or get there early so your parked nearest the exit.
  21. Something a bit different................ Rossco --- Dods --- Hastings ----------- Duncan ----------- Wilson ---- Hart ---- Morgan ------------ Bayne ------------ ------ Dargo ----- Rory ------ You could chop and change a few players in that lineup depending on your personal preferences. My only worry about a formation that doesn't involve 4 across the middle or back is us being punished by the width of our pitch, however, with Bayne chasing everything going behind the front 2 he should be drawing a man from the oppositions midfield leaving us a bit more space and a chance to take advantage of the gaps and Duncan can drop back into defense if need be. No point in going with this kind of formation unless we are going to keep the ball on the deck for the majority of the 90 minutes though. It's always hard to suggest change when your main stating 11 haven't really done anything to justify being dropped and I think we will find CC going with the standard 4-4-2 at the start of the match with a view to changing things around after we've stuck away 2 or 3 goals. :004:

    Dods

I have it from a reliable source that Dods has told ICT if they give him 4 years (3 year extension) he will happily remain and relocate up hear on a permanent basis - so it's not ALL about the money.
  23. Can't afford to be too complacent as thats when things go wrong. The team really need a lift at home so we have to play our strongest available team with a view to delivering a sound thrashing.
  24. CaleyD

    Dods

Dods is after a 4 year contract - I say we give him 2 years playing contract with an option to extend for a further 2 years either as a player (if he still has it in him) or as a coach. He has a lot to offer ICT both on and off the pitch IMO, and is a great roll model for the younger guys.
  25. Wouldn't happen on my feckin bus, I'd have driven past the cnuts :015:
