Approaching Alloa to speak to Hartley doesn't necessarily make him the favourite for the job. It's maybe just his turn for an interview. It just becomes public knowledge due to the protocol of formally asking for permission to speak to their manager. We may already have been in contact with the likes of Paul Sturrock, Craig Levein or Kenny Shiels but haven't heard anything about it as they're not contracted to a club.

SFL 19994-95 Book Features on ICT
Sneckboy replied to partickthistlelad's topic in For Sale/Swap/Auction
I think you should be trying to get rid of that squint camera too, mate! -
Nah - the article's not relevant - scroll to the bottom of its page - to the avatar of the contributor who commented. If you read ICTonline frequently, you'll recognise it - the pixel sizes even match! It's like unmasking Kendo Nagasaki! Obviously, I'm not suggesting they're the same person- I'd get banned for breaching confidentiality - but I was just pointing out how unusual it was to find two similar avatars out of all the pictures in the world, ever, to choose from, commenting on Scottish football! Uncanny. An amazing coincidence I suspect.

Not just you, ICTRoughi! I too am puzzled why the bookies keep taking it down then putting it up again! Currently (at this time) no books are open. I thought it had gone a little quite on the speculation front, so had a look at Oddschecker (who list the odds of most bookies) and there's nothing! I wonder if they've got some inside info and stopped the book to re-evaluate. No sightings of candidates leaving the stadium or at the railway station or airport? Are the interviews even at the Stadium - or indeed in Inverness!? We just don't know! Credit to the Board for keeping us guessing...which is all we're really doing! Hope things are going well, though and that they're zoning in on the right man. It's a big decision and with a likely contract initially until 2016.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, so I'll address it in a ROUNDABOUT way....the commenter at the bottom of this article has a very interesting avatar! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scotland-boss-gordon-strachan-weve-2844517

Good topic, Gringo! Defenders 'shepherding' the ball out for a goal-kick, obstructing the attacker from getting to it! Kick-off times dictated by TV. Having to remove my scarf and zip/button my jacket up to the neck (to hide my ICT top) to get into certain "No Football Colours" pubs.

I see Allan Moore's been sacked as manager at Morton. Pity they hadn't waited until after the Scottish Cup game - would have kept up our 'famous' record of getting opposing managers sacked!
-
How about Aberdeen, Hearts and St Johnstone?!

People are forgetting that Richie Foran's suspended for this game!

I'm quite sure Billy Reid will have applied for the post but I doubt he's been short-listed. We've built our reputation and stock much higher these days and are in the position to be able to sift out the 'journeymen' merry-go-round managers! There are candidates of a far higher calibre to choose from. I will run naked around the stadium before the Morton game if he's unveiled as the new boss. And you really don't want to see that.

There's already a 'new manager' thread to post our thoughts. And a poll. And a 'who do you think will get the job' thread, which already tend to overlap. Now, a 'who's your money on?' thread?! It'll become untidy and disjointed.

We couldn't afford McCoist. I know he's had to take a pay-cut but last season he was on £800,000. That's not far off our entire wage bill!

This is a major blow. Bitterly disappointing news. I have to concede, our loss is Hibernian's gain here. But it begs the question, who was he referring to when he said, " He's not leaving" ?

Where were you? What were you doing?

It's knoll. -
No timescale. But it could be sooner than we think! If one of the guys being in interviewed this week impresses, he could be there for the cup tie against Morton.

I was going to suggest putting it on Croatia to beat Iceland at 4/7. But I was also going to recommend (despite the poor odds) "throwing in Slovakia" to form a 'double' to boost your winnings! Glad I didn't...I would now be sitting-out a forum ban! However, it was a free bet so nothing lost really. I very rarely win with free bets. Because it's not my money and there's obviously no stake return, I often put them on draws to get 9/4 or 12/5. Sometimes they don't let you put them on anything shorter than 1/2. England v Germany last night would have maybe attracted me to the draw - which would have lost! Anyway, nae luck Yngwie. Fair play for saying in advance your intentions. I'm sick of seeing twitter photos of winning bets AFTER the event! Show us the losing ones! Gibraltar will probably not be quite as poor as San Marino, but still a staggering result for them!

No. They take the odds down at night for certain books. It'll be back-up in the morning. I don't know why they do it!

No! I'm not starting a premature thread on Foran joining Butcher at Hibs! That hopefully won't happen... But our captain, Richie Foran, is suspended for the Scottish Cup game against Morton. He got booked in the replay win against County and picked up another yellow in the next round in our defeat to Kilmarnock. Seemingly this has triggered a one-match ban. So, who should captain Inverness in Richie's enforced absence? Ryan Esson is no stranger to the captain's-armband - he may get selected as it's a cup fixture - depends what the new manager thinks. If there is one by then! Shearer and Kellacher may still be temporarily in charge. Graeme Shinnie's also previously been captain. I think Gary Warren would definitely be a good candidate. EDIT: I was typing this before the news broke that Foran had signed-up for another 3 years...so my line "...that hopefully won't happen..." should now read, "...that DEFINITELY won't happen..."!!! Great decision Mr Foran.
