Which is ironic as they have been "mongrels" far longer than we have (as my new signature suggests!). There is a fundamental difference though. Inverness Thistle (who are also a previous merger of themselves, Crown and Union) and Caledonian merged to form Caledonian Thistle in order to join the Scottish Football Leagues. Dingwall United Victoria and Dingwall Thistle were two tiny provincial clubs who had to merge together to a former another tiny provincial team in order to join the big fancy Highland League (they somehow managed to gain a license to play in it's inaugural season in 1893 but had to resign - how embarrassing!). They then merged proper in 1929, to form the glorified Muir of Ord Rovers that we all know today (they also had to change their original name from "Dingwall Victors" to "Ross County", probably to gather more support!).

ICT will take 1000 max IMO.

I'm apolitical when it comes to both clubs, but I think there is a case to say that there is still a bit of a Caledonian bias when it comes to the modern day ICT. The "Caledonian" Stadium with it's predominantly blue seats is one of the first that comes to mind, along with without question the club's shirts. Whenever a new ICT home kit comes out and it's a block colour, it's always blue. It's never red (or black!). Why? Is there still a bias within the inner realms of the club? Is it a technique to try and entice former Caledonian fans and stayawayers back to the new team?

Last hat-trick was Andrew Shinnie in the 6-3 Killie game. Not sure about the other one though.

I've been very impressed with Brislen-Hall in the U20 games I've seen, but his contracts up very soon (he only signed a six month deal) and hasn't seemed to be even making the bench lately for some reason. I too was impressed with Cooper and Oswell in the pre-season games, though not so much in the U20 games. Both are only young mind, but I can't see either of them breaking into the first team squad on their own merits alone this season.

I'd never take much notice of a player saying how a game went. Spectators always see more of the game.

He must be one of the few professional players to have had more clubs than they've had altogether appearances. Going by Wikipedia, he seems to have a habit of either failing on trials or as in this case, signing and quickly being punted thereafter. Wonder if he has some underlying issues that come to the forefront after a while? I will also add, I must one be one of the few ICT fans who actually has seen this guy play (in an U20 game about a month ago). He wasn't very good.

I'd have McKay over Rooney on his current form. Rooney was often a bit too lazy for my liking.

I see he hasn't featured in any form since that U20 game about a month ago and is no longer down on the squad lists in the programme. Has he left the building?

I was there. All I'll say, was that it was very cold and not very fun. The only thing of any interest was the extremely loud Dundee United coach sat in the Main Stand. Every few minutes he seemed to develop a very violent case of tourettes!

They weren't flares, they were smoke bombs and from what I gather, essentially harmless.

Some reporting now apparently that whoever complained is involved with a team Formartine got into the Highland League over.
