  1. Ahh yes, let's bring back the manager who's finished bottom of our league three times and treated the club like dirt last time he left. Let's not embarrass ourselves even more.

  4. No-matter what league we're in next season, who out of the out of contract players would you release and who would you offer a new deal to for next season?
  5. As it says on the tin folks.
  6. My secret source from inside the club has just sent me an exclusive, never-before-seen secret photo of the contraption the club blew it's budget on over the summer. It's believed this is the machine Foran uses to pick the team every week...

  8. Scouting has crossed my mind of late. Steve Marsella was down as scout and goalkeeper coach but what's happened since then? Last I heard, the club still had some connection to the agency down south whom Butcher used extensively but what about other scouts in general? I do recollect reading reports when we played Astra that we'd sent a scout over to watch them, while I also remember hearing that ICT scouts had watched Dean Ebbe before he was signed. So there's the question; does the club have scouts?
  9. I haven't seen someone wearing one for a good few years now (last time was someone walking just past the Kingsmills Hotel towards the golf course). Kingussie Shinty Club have red and blue hoops and I think it looks quite smart.
  10. Are people really claiming Mckay's challenge was anything other than a rash tackle and a stonewall penalty?! Good Lord!
  11. In all seriousness, red and blue hoops could look quite snazzy.
  12. A big NOOOO! to McNaughton at centre-half please. He's never been a centre-half, even in his heyday.
  13. Bored earlier so decided to look up where some of these trialists ended up. Phil Marsh is now 30 and playing for Runcorn Town in the North West Counties League (the ninth tier of English football). His third club since the post quoted above. Strange to think he was at Man United, came on trial with us and then signed for Blackpool who were then in the Championship down south. Conor Henderson left Grimsby after three games and then returned to Crawley Town, whom he was at when he came on trial with us. Liam Molesworth is now at another team in England's ninth tier, Walsall Wood in the Midland League Premier Division. John Cofie (a slow lumbering former Burnley and Man United centre-forward) eventually signed for Southport after leaving AFC Telford. He also spent time on loan at Chorley and Bradford Park Avenue. Toby Ajala is now at Gateshead. Prince Rajcomar has since left Romania and is now playing in the third tier of Belgian football with KFC Oosterzonen Oosterwijk. Oliver Norburn is now at Macclesfield Town.
  14. Brad Mckay was booked for a terribly rash tackle that thankfully didn't properly connect with Jordan Jones and the ref played advantage. Had he connected the tackle fully with the man, Jones could've been badly injured and Mckay given a straight red.
  15. Now you're talking! You think we could slip Draper in as a sweeper as well?
  16. Fon Williams Raven B.Mckay Warren Laing McCart McNaughton Tansey Draper Cole W.Mckay Subs - Esson, Mulraney, King, Fisher, Anier, Polworth, Ebbe
  17. Nonsense. Fisher's chances usually amounted to substitute appearances and you could never doubt his work rate when he did play. I have no doubt his goal tally would be far better had he played more. Give me him over the hapless Boden and the hopeless Anier any day.
  18. Where in the world is Fisher? Aside from Mckay, he's our best striker by miles. This ostracisation by the manager has to end now. It could have huge consequences both in terms of whether the club stays us and whether he'll still be in-charge next season.

  20. Decided to make an ex-Dons Caley Thistle XI. Up front it's pretty good, especially if all were in their heyday but the defence could give you nightmares! Esson Duff Cooper McGuire McNaughton Duncan Vigurs Paatelainen Wyness Shearer Brewster
  21. No, he was in Dingwall.
  22. Seemingly Vigurs was on crutches (and thus obviously couldn't play) in Scott Boyd's testimonial in Dingwall last Sunday. One would think then the chances of him being available for Saturday are minimal.
  23. Think I'm right in saying that the maltings' warehouse was the largest in Europe when it was built (or something like that).
  24. The back five in theory is fine. We both know Raven and Tremarco are good going forward so it makes sense to have them as wing backs. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing this tried again. It could also be argued that the issue wasn't at the back but due to Anier and Mckay being too similar to form an effective partnership, while we also lack an energetic Ryan Christie-style player in the midfield three. In a match say against the likes of Celtic or Aberdeen, this system might be worth trying again with a few modifications. Saturday though in hindsight was perhaps a mistake. Ross County's form has been poor of late while they've also been playing Boyce as a central midfielder/number 10. Perhaps using more of a back three as opposed to back five would've been more effective in taking the game to them. Tremarco as the slightly more defensive minded left wing back on the left, with a more attacking wide player on the right, say Larnell Cole or Doran had he been fit would have wielded a better result.
