    Rumours going round he's away!
  2. Hooper of course wore number 88 for Celtic and Wanyama wore 67. It'll be interesting to see if their shirts sold more on average as a result. This brings me onto another point. Why do we never have a number 13? I know McAllister wore it one year and I think Golabek did in a friendly once but apart from that, there's never been another I don't think. It's just nonsense. We can have a number 23 but not a number 13. Why? Reminds me of that thing the comedian Mitch Hedburg said once: "If the number 13 is unlucky, so should the letter B be, because a B looks like a scrunched together 13!"
  3. Aye, but as good as Billy Mckay is, he's not quite as good or as famous as Defoe is he? Same with Bradley - Draper's not *quite* as good! I always like to see one unusual/crazy number in a team. The Athletic striker Toquero wearing number 2 for example or Zamorano wearing 1+8! There's a keeper in Peru that wears number 3 as well!
  4. Do you think we'd sell more shirts if gave one of the players a crazy number? You know, give Mckay the number 1 or something!
  5. For the safety of the players I believe. We were lucky for the squad to come home unscathed last year after an altercation with some red-dotted faced locals!

I see the U20 League is to be re-named the "Development League" from next season and five overage players will be allowed instead of three.
  7. I'm sure it was Oxford or somewhere that used to have a ground that had about eight different stands! Absolute world beaters as a result, no question!
  8. Why are we discussing politics and not about all the quality players that are gonna be on show!!!!! Because Larry is trolling again.
  9. People need to ask themselves why County are doing these types of things. Maybe it's because they feel under pressure from the successes of a rival Highland side, who are bettering them where it really matters - on the pitch and in the bank.
  10. Difficult to tell them apart with the word salad style of their posts!
  11. Dougal's like a joke that isn't funny anymore.

Just for the record, as a man I never liked him.
  13. How are people who aren't supporting England bigots? No-one cares what Salmond said by the way and your constant attacks on other posters and all round superior attitude is tiresome, arrogant and ignorant. Good neighbours by the way? We aren't the ones going around calling people bigots!

Are you aware that Hibs have just been relegated? Maybe if you think he's so good you can back it up with what he's down elsewhere as well, or are you just going to throw around petty insults as usual?

You tell that to fans of Sydney, Brentford and Hibs. Aside from us, a decent run at Motherwell after they avoided relegation by a technicality and doing alright at Coventry years ago, his record stinks.
  16. 'Bigots' is awfully strong isn't it?! I think you'll find that most Scottish people view the Scotland/England rivalry as a bit of sporting banter, there's no real hatred or bitterness towards the ordinary English person, rather annoyance towards the "England are great" and this "Big Daddy England are going to win it" attitude that seems to permeate the media at these times and delight in seeing their closest rivals smug dreams tarnished yet again. You might also find a large amount of Scots couldn't give two hoots whether England win or lose and others may be supporting another country due to links with them. Many Scots will have lived in Australia or America or on the continent for example. Why should they support England, just because they happen to from the country next door when they have a much stronger connection with another nation? What I do find irritating though is your constant "Big Daddy England" attitude, as if we little Scottish people are inferior to you. Claiming that Scottish people should support England, just because we live near-by, is arrogant and ignorant in the extreme.
  17. Don't think we need another defender really. Gunning would probably command a high wage as well.
  18. If we still have that link with Arsenal, could we not get their reserve team up or something?
  19. It'd be interesting to know what the average wage at ICT is. Presume it'd be around £700 a week-ish?
  20. According to Football Manager, Mckay eligible for Scotland as well. Presume that comes from his parents. He is from Corby after all.
  21. Some of those players would be rather out of our budget I'm afraid and I wouldn't touch El Hadji Diouf with a ten foot pole! We should sign the other Danny Devine though, just for the giggles!
  22. Thank goodness some of the people from earlier in this thread aren't scouts after some of the gushing praise over two minutes of footage! One person's "lost for words", another claims he's "amazing"! Holy moly!
  23. I've often been very skeptical over the standard of the Scottish game compared to the English tiers. I know it was only a friendly, but I saw ICT play Charlton in the summer and I thought Charlton were rubbish. Even more so when you consider that the Charlton players were probably on about fives time what our players are on a week. I know Coventry are in disarray at the moment, but thought when we played them, they were hopeless too. The day we beat Charlton, Dundee United beat Wigan. We matched Real Valladolid at the stadium as well and they'd just been relegated from La Liga. Obviously the English Premier League is one of the elite leagues in the world and a far higher standard than ours, but I'm unconvinced that we're that far behind the Championship, if at all. I can't remember where I read it, but I'm sure I read once that there was a study done to find which was the most entertaining league in Europe and the English Premier League finished last, after all world class players can still he held in a bore draw. While the standard is not spectacular, I think what you get here is not bad at all entertainment-wise and the standard doesn't need to be high to see an exciting game.
  24. I'm not asking the club anything. As many people will remember, I was always rather skeptical of Butcher's managerial ability and I was quite excited when he left. I've just always wondered about these things and would like to know what happened.
  25. So we should never mention the past ever again? Tell that to the people who mention February 8th 2000 once a month. There must be some people on here who know these things and have their own questions. I myself know a few things myself as alluded to on the other thread and elsewhere and would like to know what went on.
