  1. So is it widely accepted now that Tulloch own the stadium? Weren't we told that it was transferred to a charitable trust?
  2. Just listening to Chic Young and Murdo McLeod giving their opinion on what the team should be for Amsterdam. They agreed on this 4-1-4-1 -------------------Gordon-------------- Hutton---Caldwell---McManus---Naysmith -----------------Hartley------------------ Brown---D.Fletcher---Ferguson---S.Fletcher ------------------Miller------------------------ I'd agree with the back 5 but would like to see Brown play in the role he played for Celtic on Sunday in a 4-2-3-1 with the Englishmen playing in the wide positions and Ferguson dropped: ------------D.Fletcher----Hartley------------ Commons--------Brown-------------Morrison --------------------Miller-------------------------
  3. You're right Harry - the left side the pitch is a major weakness. Naysmith will take the left-back simply because there's nobody challenging him for it. I thought maybe Lee Wallace would've been in the squad. Jaimie McAllister doesn't bear thinking about. As for left midfield, hasn't Burley played Morrison there before?
  4. Hastings in midfield!!! Haven't seen that since his man of the match performance against ICT.
  5. So does the BBC. I think caleyrule has it right.
  6. Anyone know why Duncan's not in the squad?
  7. I find the above posts deeply disturbing. Do none of you have a sentimental attachment to ICT that means more than increasing commercial income, attendances, or even winning football matches? A football club relies on the togetherness of its fans, the feeling that we all want the best for our club and will support it even when that doesn't seem rational. That spirit can't be ripped apart and rebuilt into something bigger every few years. If the comments above represent the general will of the ICT support then the "rebels" are right to use the words soulless, plastic, franchise when they refer to our club. Fortunately, i don't think those views are representative of the ICT support. We have a new generation of supporters who never attended Telford Street of Kingsmills and are passionate about ICT without any of that baggage. It's taken us almost 15 years to get that far, would you really want to start all over again?
  8. I found the Caledonian F.C. memorial thread a few months back and really enjoyed reading it. There's a lot of talk about some the brilliant Scottish Cup games in the early 90's that i was lucky enough to attend. Some of the guys writing on the thread are the same age as me and can't have been watching Caley for more than 4-5 years before the merger. It's the biterness that is displayed by these guys that really confuses me. In the case of the old-timers who stood on the Howden end for decades i think it's more undertstandable. Unfortunately, the thread has degenerated into a slanging match between some of CTO's finest and the "rebels", and for that reason i feel that i can't go on there and share my memories of supporting Caley lest i should be berated for selling out to support a soulless, plastic, franchise.
  9. Renegade, in many ways i admire how open-minded you are on the subject of tactics and formations. However, the examples you give are not relevant to the situation that ICT are in. The main concern for teams like Brazil, Man United and Roma (and Australia and Japan during qualification) is how to break down inferior and often extremely defensive teams. They have to vary the way they employ their attacking players in order to do this. When ICT play in the SPL we come up against teams that have superior players, or very well organised teams with players at a similar level to our own. In such circumstances, playing 4-2-4 would be suicidal. Can you think of an example of a small team fighting relegation who have played in this way?
  10. Which Brazil team are we talking about here boys? Brazil haven't played with out-and-out wingers for a very long time and it was Brazilians who invented the 4-4-2 and have more or less stuck with it since. Most of Brazil's success in the last couple if decades has built on a solid defence, solid holding midfield players and shackling their most creative players for the benefit of the team (exactly what TB is doing at ICT). Brazil have won more World Cups than Italy. The two nations have scored a similar amount of goals, but Brazil have a superior defensive record. Now enough of all this Brazil nonsense
  11. No, but i think Lionels' suspension will be served in next season's Scottish Cup, thus making him available for Saturday's game. Just a hunch.
  12. I believe Lubo may even have been credited with a goal for us. Although we all know it was Bobby's.
  13. Gazza, Laudrup and Larsson. Probably the best players to play in Scottish football in the last couple of decades.
  14. Banksy on the West Bank wall: And many many many more..... Genius by the way - why wrong Dmacca?
  15. Why has the word 'Milton' been censored here?
  16. Russell has been doing this for years, It is just one of the many reasons why i love him so much.
  17. About as long as it takes IHE to find a computer.
  18. After months of hoping the likes of Hamilton and St. Mirren the worst for their league form, today i'm wishing all the best to the wee teams. That goes for Dunfermline as well. Hamilton, St.Mirren, Dunfermline and ICT will do just fine for the last four.
  19. He`also said this in his match report: "This was only Inverness' third win against Rangers in 15 matches" Only!!! Throw in a couple of draws and we must have one of the best records in the SPL against Rangers over the last 5 years.
  20. TMFTJ - i'll look forward to a sober stroll through the sunny Longman next time i'm back for a home game then.
  21. Edinburgh prices are bad, but ?5!!! Are you planning on taking him to the Balmoral?
  22. Gordan Ramsey, Sean Connery, Andy Cameron, AC/DC, Satan, Hitler, Sir Alex Ferguson, Hearts, the Nothern Irish dick that was on the train home: in your own language - get it right up you ya cnuty flucks - we are staying up and if it prevents you from winning the league then all the funnier.
  23. From Ibrox to Brechins, Govan to Queen Street to Waverley, up the bridges and into the Royal Oak with my chest pumped out, ICT badge shining in everyone's eyes, folk either asked me what the score was or hugged me. When i finally made it to the Oak an Irishman kissed me and bought me a pint of Guiness and a large dram. Honestly, we didn't create a chance in the whole game. We defended brilliantly, as we have done ever since Butcher took charge. Two back fours and a front two who's primary role is to defend. It worked. It was pretty spawny but it worked and we're off the bottom. Eveybody that played and sang tonight desrve praise but i have to give special mention to Ryan Esson, the back 4 and Russell Duncan for immense defending. Ian Black, cool as you like shot himself into legendary status if he didn't have it already. We all danced home. Thank-you Blackie. Thank you Caley. Thank you all ICT players and fans.
