  1. ...that is worrying! I agree 100% by the way but if dedicated fans like you are switching off then we're on a slide. The stewards, and to an extent, the polis approach to the ICT travelling support is well-documented of course. We're a smaller bunch (pound for pound probably noisier!!) and, not coming from the big rough sweary sectarian cities, we're easy game for the power-confused. Give a man a high-viz uniform and watch the true character surface. But Gringo, my advice (like you asked for it!) is to look at it like the weather, it pisses (nowt I can do about it), it's bollock-freezing (nowt I can do about it), the referee is a tool (nowt I can do about it)...the stewards? (nowt I can do about it). But the sheer thrill of seeing our lads give these knobend clubs a game absolutely rides roughshod over the many drawbacks. The sensible post-match DU fans and a Hibee father overheard yesterday saying "that's a tough side to break down" to his son as we walked back to the car...that's the reason, that's the choice you make! Don't give up please. The Gringo clan would be badly missed. By the way, I'm commuting from Rotterdam...your move!
  2. Hibs were worth being 1-up at half time. They stroked the ball around nicely, had many more options than us, and had an impact player who does what impact players do best. We competed, no mistake, Johnny and Eric doing their best but the former was often double or treble marked and really never got into his stride. Adam was neatly folded up in Bamba's back pocket for the firtst 45. Bambi looks more and more comfortable every time I see him. Second half hinged, in my opinion, on Rooney's shot off the woodwork. From then on Hibs didn't look so assured, we had more possession and the chances started coming thick n fast at both ends. To be fair to the Hibees they threw it away in the end. I think most of us were happy with the point after an entertaining 2nd half. The new stand is real bonny...it's a good looking stadium now. Can't be arsed commenting on the police and stewards situation, just tiresome!
  3. Oh ****, it gets worse. Word on the street is that the notorious Summer Wine Crew are going, and they ain't happy about these other factions muscling in on their territory. Apparently they will be popping a few scones and drinking loads of tea before wading in to the action, armed with their full arsenal of dated and predictable jokes. Stay well clear . ...can we organise regular toilet breaks during the fracas. Me bladder's not what it used to be. :toilet03:
  4. Cheers guys. What a night...a phrase I'm being told I'll be saying for some time to come!
  5. lest we forget II yep, that was the coldest by a mile. Went to the pub afterwards and had a cup of tea...!
  6. lest we forget
  7. M'lord: I rest my case.
  8. You would NOT believe the number of pension related 'histrionics' we had in the Toyota bathx4 on the way up to Dungdee. 10 years ago, on the way up the A9, it was all "Did you hear about the Aberdonian found dead on the pay-as-you-leave bus?" and shocking tales of encounters with Norah Batty. Now it's all index-linked, 'can-I-afford-it', ooooh property values in Holmfirth...Jings crivvens and help ma Yorkshire Pudding! And that IS Yngwie second from left!
  9. I was going to say 'unbelievable!' but realise the reverse is more appropriate. Johndo, you did nowt other than create a bit of atmosphere in that morgue... If the cops are so fed up with the stewards why are these problems occuring year after year after year? FFS the cops surely have some authority over these wannabe traffic wardens in hi-viz jackets.
  10. Yep, great result...great report, a fine job AM! Didn't need the assistance of KLM to get to Rotterdam this morning, still on cloud 9!
  11. Yep, agreed. The perfect football day out (except for the stewards). And stunning goals to boot! I'd give Eric MOM, he was busy and bothering the DU back line. Pushing balls into space for Hayes and, as Alex says, unselfishly setting up Rooney among other fine balls he played to our front man. TB must really know this football lark cos I don't think there would be many on here who would've seen this potential in him. Well done Eric. But congrats to the whole team and Terry & Mo...that was brilliant. "Are you Dundee in disguise?" may be the pick of the excellent and persistent singing from the away support.
  12. Standing creates an atmosphere. Sitting doesn't. The first division was a blast. The Premier will be the usual bore. Same old, same old. Nothing more worth saying...

BMI issues aside, the prospect of endless Ryder Cup, eh Ryder, Ryder Cup interviews with, with, you know, with ehhh with Monty, with eh you know Monty is a truly horrible, eh horr, I mean I mean horrible prospect! Sunday was as dull as dishwater. After an hour or so of the final group going out Oosterwho'she probably realised he could've putted his way round the back 9 such was the lack of challenge. Maybe the players' 'obesity' would be sorted if they carried their own bags...
  17. Some lovely designs here
  18. ...that was before, now he's blumenalright. Walking in a kibbutz wonderland.
  19. Rather good Scotsman article on the topic
  20. That wasn't my memory of last season. Up to Xmas the defence were only playing for 45 minutes, then we learned to defend from the front with Rooney holding and distributing to a midfield which grew in confidence in the new year. With better protection, the defence came good. If we have the same "strong defence" (Bulvitis has gone has he not?) from the outset in 10/11 as we did last season it's going to be a rough Autumn. But good news re. Tokes
  21. Colin Paterson, music journo Danny Baker, DJ & Worst Broadcaster of The Year Nicky Campbell, BBC's Head of Dumbing Down Any particular reason for license payers forking out for their air tickets?
  22. Gringo Jr. Howabout doing a sponsored walk from TCS to the top of the nearest Munro in tribute. I seem to remember reading he was doing the Seven Summits for a specific charity. Would seem fitting. 10 quid from me...might even join you.
  23. :D Yeah...great news. Congratulations Brosno and the (expanding) clan!
