Cairney takes it this week for Hibernian. Compliance officer case?

The referee over reacted partly possibly because Terry does not endear himself to referees. He spends most games criticising them. That is bound to result in adverse decisions. After Aaron was booked it is fair to say Aberdeen players got off lightly. Josh crunched Hughes just before half time but not maliciously. The little winger did not endear himself because he whinges then acts out an injury and is then straight back in the action. It is quite interesting watching the Big Match from 20 or so years back - we get none of the play acting we see today. Owain did not deserve to be sent off. If we see the incident we will see a significant element of play acting. The crowd, as we all do, seek to influence the decision. The referee was caught up in this emotion.

Tricky tie. Stenny will really fancy getting to the Quarter Finals.

Can we not get some sponsorship from Paddy Power? Fantastic achievement for the club. Here's hoping Owen gets back into the Wales squad again.

We are likely to see inconsistency amongst referees every year. Last year Richie was subjected to a very dangerous over the top tackle at Hibs in the 1-1 draw yet I do not recall the player being booked. It was cringeworthy to watch the tackle. If all referees took the Bobby Madden line on Saturday we would have many more red cards for tackles. As Richie is reported as saying, Bobby Madden had a poor game by his usually high standards. The tackle possibly warranted a yellow from TV evidence. It would be interesting to see the referee's report.

OTJ spent a considerable time warming up on his own I suspect because he has just come back from that very difficult injury he sustained early last season. An experienced international player should not react the way he did. However, in mitigation, the tackle on him was very dangerous and some referees would have booked or sent off the offender. A good referee would have been on the spot quicker - he watches Fowler come in sideways - if they had recognised the recklessness of the tackle. 'Our' referee stood off and watched. In his defence, he was not aware of the injury and worry OTJ has endured but he should know that the tackle was worse given the height of OTJ and angle. Fowler tackled with real intent to stop OTJ going into the box. It was a disgraceful tackle that the SFA should highlight as such even retrospectively.

Green 'Ian a few questions before you sign about your footballing education. Can you cope with being on trial at Brechin?' Ian 'Charles, I have a lot of experience of being on trial. Anyway, all I want is to sign fer the mighty Gers and play in an old firm derby at Peterhead.'

With regard to season tickets there could be say a 1/19th deduction after each home game so that season tickets kept their value up to say 9 games to go. Even now someone could buy a ten ticket book priced at a discount.

Little Jonny will probably get injured at Elgin thus adding to the Curse.

It is on the face of it a clever piece of work. I saw an article recently that showed the English (Welsh) Premier League price per game against the annual sum for showing SPL matches and it was way out of proportion. The Scottish game does appear to be quite poorly supported by TV revenue compared to other countries. That said, now is the time for all supporters to throw off the shackles of Rangers buying success at the expense of virtually every other team, and create a better following throughout the leagues. If the new Rangers cannot produce a credible case this week to show they have a medium term business case, they genuinely have assets that are sustainable if accepted into Division 3, their office bearers are deemed fit and proper, they accept the transfer embargo or one within the rules, etc, then we have a whole new ball game in Scottish football. If Cove Rangers or Spartans were to be successful, then the danger for Clyde or perhaps East Stirling or dare I say it, Partick, might be bought out by those wishing to relaunch Rangers by another route. That assumes the liquidator does not find valid grounds to show that in fact the assets legally still belong to the company about to be liquidated.
-
Another positive move by the Club. All we want now is for more people and businesses to put something back into the community that benefits from not one but two SPL clubs within a short distance of one another.
-
The 12th is also a very significant date in history.
-
The 13th is significant. The Liquidators 28 day cooling off period is the 12th. There is a lot of speculation surrounding the asset ownership of the former Rangers plc. If Craig Whyte acquired the assets illegally with Ticketus money, he had no right to sell them for £2 if indeed he did. For all we know either Lloyds Bank, Ticketus or MIM may in law own the assets but the Liquidator may well take them under their wing. The SFL decision on 13th is then a no brainer. Spartans or Cove Rangers would then need to speed up their applications. The message for supporters is get out and support the game in Scotland this season. The points made by Stenny which may be a regurgitation are likely to have been produced by external advisers and will have some credibility. Rangers have sucked £134m out of the game so the figures are likely to have some credibility. The SPL needs a 12th player this season and the sooner that is resolved the better. Years back Ali McGraw of Morton talked of consolidation in the Scottish game - that is speeding up. Rangers newco without assets, without a business plan, without resources, will not qualify for the SFL.

Very good statement from Stenhousemuir tonight. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/stenhousemuir/109526-in-full-stenhousemuir-outline-full-financial-impact-of-rangers-sfl-entry/ It is now time for supporters to step back and help get the season under way.

Ross Tokely indicates he will punch above early season beer belly while Scott says he's ready for the fight in training at least. Glen says it was Brechin or Ross County so I chose County for a scarf.

Tade will probably not be missed. He scored 9 but missed a range of amazing sitters. Let's be positive here. We have Aaron back to fitness, Billy Mackay has a season under his belt, Richie may well start scoring again, Andrew Shinnie who is far more cultured than Jonny, Shane must start scoring soon at this level, and Nick. If Jason breaks his duck early, we may well have found a winner with him. He's a tall lad and will be keen to impress. Unlike Barrowman he will not preen himself on a regular basis and will be driven by hunger to succeed. We have Gavin back, Owen back. Josh Meekings will have a season under his belt. Graeme will want to build on a very good year at full back. Our new signings so far for the back four will have a lot to prove and potentially this may be where we need more experience. If Chris can overcome adversity we will have it with him. We can surely expect at least two more players to arrive soon. There may be a third although it would be nice to see Kenny back. If you look at other SPL clubs, we are making steady moves to raise standards. We have Martin Laing, Liam Polworth to name but a few promising youngsters. Our new keeper has a point to prove. It was remarkable that Johnny Tuffey was so loyal over two years as a back up keeper. Beyond that, it is similar to Dundee United. Until people star putting money in the kitty, providing SPL football in Inverness will continue to be a business challenge.

Agree with Caley D. Green's Sevco has we believe until tomorrow to lodge a formal application to play a team in a Scottish league next year. This includes a list of directors, a business plan, evidence of ownership of players and a stadium. There is serious doubt in the minds of the media and I think John Brown that these exist. Consequently Sevco may fail tomorrow. The restructuring proposal looks fine. Sevco is being treated as Rangers and as things stand, the SPL has not had its panel revisit the 'transfer embargo' judicial review finding. As a minimum it is surely likely to encounter a one year ban from membership even if it gets its paperwork sorted for tomorrow's deadline. There are though a range of other agencies ranging from the courts, to individuals, to UEFA, to the Liquidator who could topple these assumptions.

An odd move. Jonny's hamstrings will suffer in the Baltic conditions whilst expectations will be too high for him. I suspect the curse will get to him.
-
According to what I have seen so far, there is no precedent for who will take on the shares formerly used by GRFC. The logic is that both Dundee and Dunfermline need to make a case to the 11 members remaining. It would make sense to score their bids based on their respective financial positions in terms of balance sheets; player behaviour in the last three years;funding guarantee for this season. Other thoughts or recommendations?

Oddquine, Nobody beyond a few making money or desperate for success supports drug cheats. There are lots out there who have gotten away with it. Those caught are punished according to rules or statute. As the Dalai Lama said in Inverness yesterday you can forgive but forget is a different word. Some drug cheats have served their sentence and are free. Dundee and Motherwell have served their sentence and are free. Rangers are just beginning their sentence. We will forgive one day, but we will not forget. The olympic principles followed by the majority and monitored by those able to are surely the principles of Scotland? Fairness, decency, honesty, compassion, respect – fair play; knowing one’s own limits; and taking care of one’s health and the environment excellence – how to give the best of oneself, on the field of play or in life; taking part; and progressing according to one’s own objectives friendship – how, through sport, to understand each other despite any differences ....should that not also be the basis of the SPL's rebirth? 12 teams, 12 votes, decision by majority, not minority two? Rewards by sporting integrity not excessive borrowing and use of 'loans' to players?
