  2. Fort William?
  3. I believe so....not from personal experience, but from conversations in the house. One bus was designated "Dalneigh" and the other "Limetree" if my memory of those conversations is correct. I would hope not "from personal experience" since I'm talking about an era (60s and late 50s) before you were born Donald! I had forgotten about the Limetree Ave bus and am now wondering if this in fact was as third service? Both Dalneigh bus and Limetree avenue buses left from outside the Station Hotel in the 1970's (and probably later). The last bus to Dalneigh was about 22:00 which sometimes meant leaving the cinema early or walking home

  16. Found this on the web; The General’s well At one time, Inverness had several healing walls, each of the wells was visited for a different cure – the General’s Well being the one to visit for a cure for rickets. After silvering the water the custom was to bathe the afflicted limbs and also to drink the water. Being so conveniently near the town it was much frequented and the number and variety of diseases it could subdue were proportionately great. Far and near, children and young persons afflicted with rickets were brought to it and manipulated upon by its waters . To strengthen the virtue of the water, silver coins of all sizes, together with small pebbles, were immersed in the well and various curious ceremonies were observed.
