  1. A friend has just shown me this complete tripe from Craig Burley and I thought I would share it with anyone who might not have seen it because, like myself, try to ignore such lavvy roll journalism. Who/what on earth does he think he is? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/07/08/craig-burley-column-sfl-minnows-must-vote-rangers-newco-into-first-division-86908-23906004/
  2. Report from http://www.highlandleague.net Buckie Thistle had the ball in the back of Ryan Esson's net twice in the opening stages but both were ruled our for offside. Firstly Andy Gardiner saw his celebrations stopped short then a Bob Duncan free kick took a slight deflection off Shawn Scott who was also adjudged to have been illegally placed. Inverness Caley Thistle took the lead in the 23rd minute when Richie Foran slipped in Shane Sutherland and the former Wick Academy striker fired it through the legs of Kevin Main to find the back of the net. Half Time 0-1 ICT doubled their lead ten minutes from full time when youngster Martin Laing turned onto his left foot and shot past Darren Strong into the bottom corner of the net from 18 yards. Buckie pulled one back in the 85th minute when a corner lead to a stramasch in the penalty area to which new signing Neil Robertson restored order, poking home his first goal in green and white. Full time: 2-1 Buckie Thistle: K Main, J Shewan, R Duncan, D Macrae, I Macrae, D Wood, P Napier, N Davidson, S Scott, A Gardiner, D Munro Subs: N Roberston, A Shand, S Wood, S Carrol, X Sutherland, S Davidson, A Matheson, A Shewan, A McPherson, E Clark, S Farquhar, S Bruce Inverness Caledonian Thistle: R Esson, D Raven, R Watson, C Pepper, G Warren, J Meekings, S Sutherland, R Foran, B Mackay, A Shinnie, A Dorran Subs: A Raguaro, G Shinnie, R Drapers, N Ross, J Oswell, M Laing, L Polworth, M Cooper, K Buchan, K White Referee: D Ross

  7. BBC saying hes signed the famous ICT one year deal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18524028?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  8. Good news, if he can stay fit there's Tansey's replacement sorted. Now where did I put that cotton wool...
  9. I will now be calling our neighbours Ross and the county.
  10. Just back from the pub and met by this bad news. Very disappointed and sad that I won't see my childhood hero playing in an ICT shirt again. Rosscoe, thank you for the 13 years that I remember and the three previous. I wish you all the very best in the future and I hope wherever you go you are treated with the respect and loyalty you have shown us. I actually kinda hope you go to meet up with Pele an the big spending Formartine and get a nice big wage packet for a year or two because that would be a beautiful circle. Anyway thanks again Ross, its been a pleasure.
  11. While I would also like to see longer contracts being handed out I think we have to accept that with the current financial state of Scottish football coupled with the wider economic situation that we will not be seeing any players (unless they have a proven track record) being offered longer deals. Having said that I cannot see us being able to afford any players with a proven track record, so I recon it will be one year deals for the time being. On the topic of new faces and having no money, I think that Rangers should be made to give us one of their young players in place of the £40,000 they owe us... seems fair.

    Joel Byrom

I see from his wiki page that he played for Accrington Stanley in the past, who are they?
  13. I said this in the rumour thread but I'll say it here too. All the best to Greg, I think this is a great move for him to be fair, 3 years at a League 1 side who made the play offs this year. I don't think he (or many of the players in the SPL) could have expected much more.
  14. He has signed for Stevenage on a three year deal. My source is Tyrone Smith's twitter. Gonna add fair play to him. Thats a really good move, three years at a League 1 club that made the play offs this season. I wish him all the best.
  15. I would imagine the registration for European Qualifiers is pretty early and he'll be looking to get his squad sorted by then. On the topic of Tade, I'd be sad to see him go we aren't exactly graced by riches in the forward department and with the cuts being discussed I don't see us bringing in anyone with the big man's experience.
  16. I'd be up for a game.. I'm probably fit enough that I can manage a good five minutes.
  17. Having been to more Forres games than ICT games this season I am going to claim the role as chief scout... There is a pair of 18/19 year old twins at Forres, Lee and Graham Fraser, who are way beyond HL standard, they used to be at County but upon leaving school and getting full time apprenticeships at a building firm they decided to play their football closer to their home. There was rumoured interest from Newcastle in one as well as definite interest from Aberdeen so its not just me who rates them. One is a centre forward, who made a complete mess of David Proctor in the NoS Cup Final and finished the season as Forres' top scorer with 17 goals despite his season being cut short in January by a broken knee cap, the other wants to be a centre half but has been playing as a full back for the Can Cans and been bloomin excellent. There are definitely unpolished gems to be unearthed in the HFL and it is a great breeding ground for youngsters. The difference in Graeme Shinnie following his Forres loan spell was quite phenomenal. Which begs the question why we don't farm out more youngsters? Surely a season in the HL is worth far more than a season playing U19s
  18. sh1te game, sh1te season but we're safe. roll on next year and battering the staggies.
  19. Do we not all support the same team on this forum? Best of luck to Gav and I look forward to seeing him in an ICT shirt next season.

    Gavin Morrison

Just spotted him speaking about this on Twitter. Best of luck to him. I'm intrigued as to how this came about though. Anyone with insider info?
  21. Dissapointed Terry didn't make an appearance, wasn't there myself so I maybe can't say anything but unfortunately trying to get a degree has to come infront of what sounds like a good and deserved day for Grant and Russell.
  22. This is a ridiculous thread. Of course we shouldn't. If you are looking for divers try the Aquadome
  23. Not adding anything new here but heres my tuppence for what its worth. My bests... Davide Xausa, he was my hero just as I was becoming an ICT fan and old enough to appreciate football and I always loved seeing him play. Juanjo, he was our best player in our first SPL season IMO and I was devasted when he never came back from injury. One of my favourite memories of him was in a match at Pittodrie against Hearts when the ball broke to him and he was all alone in their half with just Craig Gordon to beat he tried to go round him but forgot the ball and Gordon picked it up.. Why I like a story about him fluffing I don't know. Perhaps because he always wanted to do things the flashy way.... His celebrations were never bad either. Marius Niculae, there was no doubting he was a class act and I always thought it was really exciting to see him in an ICT shirt. My memory of him would be him celebrating with fans after his first goal and he seemed to always score 2 goals when he scored. But my absolute best would probably be Richard Hastings, simply for season after season of steady performances. Always thought he was excellent and can't really remember him having any blunders. Also the fact the guy is the 10th most capped Canadian footballer adds to his credentials as best foreigner. Worsts.. I'm too young to remember Vetle Anderson but forever see his name in 'worst player' compilations Bajram Fetai, he was bloody excellent to watch at half time.. all the tricks of the day but always flattered to deceive on the pitch. Marcus Paatelainen and Gil Blumenstein kinda fall under the same 'flattered to deceive' heading. I just think that when we sign foreign players we expect them to be good just because they are foreign. Zibi Malkowvski because after 8 minutes in an ICT shirt he gave away a goal and he was sh1te before coming to us as well, Also, caleyteenager, out of interest, how did you get this job?
  24. So what you're saying is they were good at sitting on the bench? haha. But yeah, Zibi for me simply because he only took 8 minutes to have a howler in this game on his debut.
