  1. I know we have one on the forum for ICT games, but anyone know is there an official/unofficial SPFL Predictor - the BBC one died a few years ago, then we had the Clydesdale Bank one. Anyone know of any as they are always good for workplace banter. Cheers
  2. Agree about being a package and experience, but that costs money sadly. I know from going to Man City, they have big TV screens, live music, bars and food, the megastore and other things going on (obviously its a bigger complex/sports village type affair) - you can easily turn up before or hang round after and be entertained - but this costs money. Not sure what SPL clubs can do based on the limited fans & budgets. Maybe start with something like pre-game radio type interviews. Rather than play occasional (bad) music, play some player or staff interviews (pre-recorded perhaps), discuss the game, club etc, discussion on the fixture and what else is happening in the SPL - 15-20mins before the game starts, gives fans a chance to hear whats going on at the club during the build up?
  3. Oh dear, I see where this will end up going............................ This could be an interesting topic to try understand the demographic of ICT fans and whether due to the nature of us being a relatively new club has resulted in a smaller pool of local fans as many have historical links to the OF (certainly the older generation) and understand whether the fans are made up of younger guys, or indeed new influxes into the area. Then use that data to draw conclusions on how to progress and help promote the club to take it forwards. Sadly the questions seem ambiguous and loaded.
  4. Same old, same old. Even after last year we havent seen a burst in ticket sales, perhaps its due to the economy, but considering the crowds when the weather was 'good' and we were playing for that Euro place we still couldnt draw more fans. Its a case of either the locals dont care, cant be bothered or would perfer to be armchair fans supporting the OF or some english club than coming out to see ICT. Can only hope that if we make a good start this season a few more fair-weather fans might turn up to games on the day.
  5. Defensive/holding mid role alongside Draper. Reasoning - he wins balls in the air but isnt really a target man and doesnt have great pace to get behind the defence, for me he's not creative enough for the Shinnie role so that has to go to Doran, not enough pace for a winger and we have better options and in defence its a solid unit so why disrupt. Let Foran move into the middle of the park and control the game, break up play and hold the ball, allow others around to create and make space.

    Arsenal Link

After last season where we never really had any successful loan players from Arsenal, perhaps while the link is good to have the quality of players eitehr on offer or interested isn't high enough to have a real impact. We have signed a good few younger players who's wages we are paying so why bring in loanee's which will prevent them game time and becoming future assets we could sell. I'm sure in Jan if we have injuries or need to shake it up a bit there might be some Arsenal players coming in then.
  7. Dont know enough of the new guys to say who will play, but I think we keep our back four from last year. Foran should be in the centre mid role along with Draper, play 2 wingers then Doran in just behind McKay as creator.
  8. Possible to think it, realistic - No.
  9. HT: 1-0 FT: 3-0 1st ICT: McKay 1st Opp: None Time of 1st Goal: 17mins
  10. Not strictly focusing on the new players TBH, as I feel those here previously have more key roles - For me, I'm interested to see how Doran can step up and if he can fill the Shinnie role or playmaker in the team, also want to see the status with Esson - hasn't played much pre-season and I felt last year he wasn't as strong as Toni when he was fit. Hopefully some of the young Scottish lads will make an impression, for me this is Nick's make or break year at the club and this level, same with Pepper. With the new boys, its to see how they all step up, but I'd like to see one of the strikers perform and help Billy out with scoring, especially the Norweigan U21, hopefully fo a good pedigree. Also agree about Greenhalgh - having won a national TV 'talent' show in the past he's already 'known' so time for him to prove he's the real deal.
  11. Must be good times ahead then, thats the most positive post I've read of yours on here in a long time :)
  12. Probably pay more to see some friendly glamour models than a 2nd or 3rd string side associated with a big club. Although Bournemouth did get the Real Madrid stars showing up and for all those Dons fans & players who slated Ryan Fraser leaving, wonder how many of them will ever get to take the pitch with Ronny & co lol.
  13. Survival - hugely confident Top 6 - very confident Least 1 cup semi - optimistic A cup win - ever hopeful
  14. After Shinniesta could we end up Ronald-green-io
  15. That the ex-dons player, if so I recall he was mince - hope he wasn't training the youth keepers
  16. So the boy can't spell too good, as he plays good football then it should matter little to any of us, essentially just get over it and make him feel welcome. Often wonder what the players must think of the fans at times when they read some of the posts and threads on here.
  17. Least he spelt the name of the club right - that's the important part ;)
  18. Not sure if there will be any real surprises, but see Hearts staying up with Midden (not Thistle) going down, only other will be the rise of the Dons & D Utd with Well dropping down into the bottom half after being 2nd for the last 2 seasons. On a hopefully optomistic level I'd like us to be the surprise package with a cup double (beating Celtic on route to both titles) and 4th spot in the League
  19. Everyone remember what was said about Toni last year - especially after the cop car taxi incident, but he proved to be a good player and for me I would have liked him to be here now fighting to be #1. Hopefully our staff have an eye for a good keeper and this guy can come from nowhere to be a decent signing - looking at our squad is there not still a keeper place for a young or youth player also?
  20. Does this count as a transfer - County paying £40k to buy out the contract of a St J player they already had on their books the last few years and who never actually left....................
  21. Probably is - its a chance to play first team football at a decent level rather than clean the boots of Internationals and kick about with the youth set-up.
  22. Do shirt numbers mean much anymore in football, when you have players like Hooper with 88 and Skacel 51 on their shirts. I'm sure TB is more of a traditionalist in terms of aligning numbers to the first 11 and posssible positions. Wonder what numbers we may see at other clubs this year?
  23. Surely all that does is get him a trail somewhere, he still had to perform to get signed up and any team would have at least checked out his claims if they were unsure especially having International Caps?
  24. Pepper has yet to establish himself in our team at SPL level and Meekings/Golobart were both physically a lot stronger which is one of the key attributes for SPL success. While I agree with many comments the main issue with PR was his attitude in games, he never looked to motivated or interested, I think he has the ability but the pace of the Scottish game and where physicality is a more sought after attribute than skill and technique means its always going to be hard for that type of player - look at GMS or Ryan Jack they get kicked for 90 mins a game, although perhaps they are mentally stronger and can deal with that or used to it through the Scottish youth system. Roberts may yet make it to a high level, look at the likes of Pennant (ignore his off-field issues and attitude problems) he was released by Arsenal yet has still played at a high level in England & Europe.
  25. Push for Top 6 minimum, although I see Dons & DUtd being stronger this season that for several years, Well will be weaker but still good enough for top 6 along with Celtic winning the League. I think along with County & St J we will be fighting over those last 2 places, but hoping the experience of players last year and a few new gems we could punch above our weight yet again. Really dont see us struggling at the bottom thankfully, Hearts with their issues, , Midden & Kille both losing a lot f players, Thistle and the ever woeful Hibs will all be down there IMO. At least 1 good cup run (by good I mean another semi final) but to at least make the QF in both. Personally I would trade Top 6 for a cup final.
