First half we passed the ball to death but did get through Dumbarton a few times. Alas the new left back Duffy’s crossing was very poor. Half time whistle sounded to rapturous cheering from the home fans. Dumbarton were very poor. second half, I think it happened a lot last season, from the KO we sat back going route 1 from our keeper. Couldn’t keep the ball and Dumbarton took control of the game and a mistake from us let them in for the equaliser. Once they had their guy sent off we got more of the ball, Gilmour had a decent shot saved. We got into crossing positions several time via bray on the right and Duffy on the left but neither would cross the ball instead going backwards. Queue the boos and Dunc getting some flak. young Thompson, a sub, lost possession and Dumbarton were denied the winner by a decent save . squeeky bum time with 5 mins to go as they forced a few corners. Our support were starting to FIDGET in their seats which was maybe a show of support for our new owner, ok you know what’s coming, we started getting “ FIDGETAL”. sorry couldn’t resist that one. crowd announced as 1463 I think. edit, I wasn’t going to criticise players this year, but yes longstaff only knows one direction and that is backwards. Once he gets the ball under control after 3 or 4 touches.

Beat me to it . if it’s season tickets you are looking for it takes a couple of mins to sort out at the shop. Saturday Open 10am to kick off. Buy adult ST get child U12 free. If it’s a game ticket, adult gets U12 free with their ticket. Costs an extra quid if within 3hours of KO. treat yourself and the child, if you are planning watching from the bridge, you are there anyway. if he/she is like my lot, will start asking for food and greggs 20 mins return.

pretty grim reading but Dundee are a top six premier team and signed Murray who had a phenomenal season at 2nd worst team in league last season scoring 23 goals. ( I saw most of them). Men against boys, or young boys, need to wait and see what happens when season starts next week. I assume Dundee took the foot off the gas 2nd half? We all know it's going to be a huge effort to remain in league 1 with our young kids and over the hill seasoned pro's.

Ah, that explains Saturday. I take a rucksack to every game, it has couple of ict scarves, ict beanies, gloves etc, medication EPIPEN and sweets for us, moams not werthers, we are not flamboyant. In the north stand I get asked by the security team if they can search it looking for bottles. No problem. On Saturday the guy searched it and said he was looking for flags. I said cheekily what are you looking for, the sticks on the flag. he said no, flags. So he meant banners. An old guy with a 10 year old and two 9 year olds I must be looking shifty in my old age. Or maybe not looking my age, seen as a younger delinquent.

Was impressed with the first half. Pick outs bray and strachan who put in a few dangerous balls from the left. Being super critical I thought we passed the ball a bit too much, making 3 passes to get the ball to a player when 1 would have sufficed. 3 good goals and a turn and shot in the box that came off the post high up. Rose were a very poor side. 2nd half we did absolutely nothing, reminiscent of last season when leading after half time we sat back and let them dictate the play. We made subs and a couple who came on looked like they were still in primary school, buts that’s me getting old. Was allocated same seats as last year in north stand. Can’t see even our club selling a season ticket for £182 ( oops clue to age) and then putting me in a seat that others have paid £230 for.
