  1. You are right Hampden for us!
  2. Not the best of games I have to say but we are through to the semi-final and that will be something to look forward to
  3. Managers, assistants and players come and go. If Russell is wanting to further his career good luck to him he has been a good assistant to Yogi. If he was to go would Richie Foran be in a position take over as I can't se him back to playing full time? Would Yogi want him as assistant or would he prefer to take some one else?
  4. An easier one!
  5. At least the country is in safe hands until May.
  6. Suspect they'll appear Paton but Butcher and Cifchi will probably be cited by compliance officer! Eye and get found not proven
  7. I never herd that one but I am sure some kids would believe it! Mind you young lids would not know what an Onion Johnny was because like everything else you get them in a supermarket...........opps going of topic.
  8. I was just talking about the Onion Johnny last night when I was about 6 year old there was one who came round Fort Augustus and I thought it was a long way to cycle from France with a load of onions on your handlebars
  9. LWB Landrover, Bedford HA van, 4 Ford Cortina Mk1's, Vauxhall Viva HB & Jaguar Mk2 parked on the east side of the castle with the roofs of the shops on Castle St just behind the Jag!
  10. Farr? It is up in the hills a wee bit.
  11. That looks like Ken Macpherson taking a photograph!
  12. Dalneigh, what huge gardens behind the houses between Ballifeiry Road & Glenurquhart Road. Not much to the left of the infirmary apart from the Foster's houses at 1 & 3 Springfield Gardens.
  13. Must have been another on loan from Aberdeen, Hillman Avenger, Renault 9, Mini & Fiat 850.
  14. That's exactly what I first thought but, assuming something relatively local, began to drift towards the Aviemore area. I have to say IBM, apart from his encyclopaedic knowledge of old motors, is pretty sharp at identifying bits of Sneck! Good observation skills Charles
  15. You are right there IHE the only clue is a shop or PO attached to the house!

    THE DANCING

Not much change from today with all the for sale/to let signs!

    THE DANCING

Is that CB in disguise dancing with that maiden?
  18. The Square in Byoolee where the Highland Cross finishes. I will not tempt the correction of IBM by suggesting early 1980s on the basis of the motors. Could be Charles but more likely to be mid to late 70's. The small brown one coming out of the square is a Simca 1000, the white one behind the Mini is an Austin/Morris 1800 which was a big flop for British Leyland, the yellow Austin Maxi was a revolution in the late 60's a hatchback with 5 doors and folding rear seats but the build quality of BL let it down. The yellow Reliant Scimitar across the road was a great performance car in contrast with its baby brother the Robin! The light blue van at the front is a Hillman Imp built in Linwood.
  19. The Vauxhall Cresta, I have never seen an estate, nice cars but a lot of chrome to polish! Aye and a lot of rust thereafter !! They were all prone to rust in them days, as a boy I seen one Cresta with huge holes inside the boot at each side of the lower rear wings. They were known to be light in the rear when cornering and this one had been filled with sand on each side which got wet and caused the rust. The owner traded it in for a brand new red Ford Corsair!
  20. The shop & chipper (rear view) Balmacaan Road Drumnadrochit
  21. That looks a fair size boat in at the Anderson St slipway.
  22. Inverness Traction who were forced out of business by Stagecoach who were running free buses a few minutes in front of them! Joe public thought the free buses were great but it was short lived as Inverness Traction could not compete and went out of business then the prices went up surprise surprise.
  23. The spire is St Michaels Church in Abban Street and to the left below the tree line is the old Balnafettack Farm, the photo must have been taken from the roof of the Rose St car park.
  24. The Vauxhall Cresta, I have never seen an estate, nice cars but a lot of chrome to polish!
  25. I don't think they were upper level but they were good in their day. My father had 4, a Merlin before my time a 1952 2.5 which was green and black and had the running boards, a 1959 2.6 2 tone grey reg MHL555 which had a front bench seat and the gear leaver was on the right of the seat and the last one he had was a black & white 4/72 left hand drive reg 479FS which he bought after being smashed in Skye. He did the body repairs and converted it to right hand drive with a dashboard from an MG.
