  1. Another member of the ICT family taken too soon.
  2. Yup. The best comeback since winning after being 3-0 down to Ayr in the Cup.
  3. A decent run in the competition and a creditable result against a youth system far better resourced than our own. Well done to the players and coaches.
  4. There was not a failure on the pitch for us today and, until Vigurs had to be substituted, the old guard of Vigurs, Polworth and Doran were running the show and oozing class. Perhaps some of those who have been on Polly's case all season will now cut him a bit of slack. A special word for the manager. When he came in, I was not alone in having my doubts. He had been out of management for a very long time and out of full time management for even longer and his record since he left us almost a decade ago was hardly inspirational. However, after a sticky start, he has now introduced a system which is both entertaining and increasingly effective. As far as recruitment is concerned, while there have been a couple of failures, his recruits are much more effective than those of either Hughes or Foran and on a fraction of the budget. Well done to the players and the manager. We are not quite there yet and it may take until next season to genuinely challenge for promotion but we are on the right track and have, by and large, the right squad and the right Steersman at the helm.
  5. I don't think that such a one off fixture would much boost the profile of the Highlands. Having both teams in the Premiership did that. It would, however, represent an opportunity for ICT to become the only team to twice regain their top league place at the first time of asking which, should it happen, would be a fantastic achievement for the club.
  6. No. At the same game but with a healthy and welcome sense of irony.
  7. To be fair, everybody's form has plummeted at Falkirk of late.
  8. I think that DD was applying his suggestion to decent human beings. Sadly, while they do exist, the majority of fans of both Ugly Sisters don't qualify as such.
  9. If the stewards dealt quickly and effectively with the few fans who spark the problems then there would be no issue and the rest of us, home or away, could enjoy both the football and the banter.
  10. It makes sense from a financial point of view not opening and a stewarding the South Stand. However, I entirely agree with OCG that it is a great pity that you can't indulge in humerous banter with opposing fans these days.
  11. The much bigger question is whether any team in the MLS would want him. I would very much doubt it. Surely it's better for him in the long run playing football rather than drawing a salary for nothing and daydreaming about a move that's never likely to happen.
  12. It strikes me that the best piece of business we could do in the January window is to offload OFW. Leaving aside the question of fault, at present he is contributing absolutely nothing but consuming the salary of at least two good Championship players. Freeing up that cash and bringing in one or two decent players could be the difference between pushing for promotion or not especially with the suspensions that are looming due to our poor disciplinary record.
  13. Fourth earns a play off place. That is certainly not beyond us and would be an achievement in itself given how poor our start was and, even if we didn't get through the system so heavily and unfairly weighted in favour of the Premiership club, would set us up nicely to have a real go next season.
  14. Or pointing to any posts on here or any other football fora from ICT fans predicting we'd win the league ? There must surely be a few if 'everybody' was saying it.
  15. I don't recall 'everyone saying we'd win the league'. As far as I recall, most of us were very well aware that the Championship was going to be a very tough division. John Robertson has done well to have us still in with a chance of a play off place from a standing start and a heavily pruned budget.
  16. Good result and even better score line but who would have predicted that, at this stage in the season, we would be ten points and seventeen goals better off than Falkirk yet still in the bottom half of the table. The only thing predictable about this league is that Brechin will finish bottom and there is still time for us to make that unpredictability work in our favour and push for promotion.
  17. There is no doubt about his work rate and commitment. Sadly, there is equally little doubt that he is not a natural goal scorer. I think that there is considerable merit in giving him a chance in midfield and someone else the opportunity up front.
  18. Maybe we can swap the Five strikers we already have for one who can actually score.
  19. No idea but I sincerely hope it doesn't happen again on Tuesday.
  20. A red dot for praising sensible pricing in the interests of fans, really ?
  21. The officials can't give the goal unless they are sure the whole of the ball crossed the line. Perhaps a bad break but hardly worth a thread of it's own.
  22. Then, well done to both clubs.
  23. Steady on folks. This is a season of rebuilding and we were very narrowly beaten away from home by the league leaders. Hardly a disaster.
  24. Although, I would be delighted to be eating those words come ten to five.
  25. Disappointed to see Baird start ahead of Oakley.
