Denzil has always been a confidence player even when he was banging in goals at the rate of more than one every two games. The way that he has been "managed" has severely undermined his confidence. If that is not to change then he would be as well moving on and working for a boss who will be supportive of him.
  2. Of the two of them, there's no doubt who is more valuable to the club. Unfortunately, of the two, Brewster is more likely to still be here at the begining of next season.
  3. When Ifirst saw Martin Bavidge play when he was about 16 or 17 I was convinced that he was the most skillful young player I'd ever witnessed on a football pitch. I was sure that he would go on to play for Scotland and star in the English Premiership. Just goes to show why I'm not a football scout.

I believe that Dennis it would be worth retaining Denzil.
  5. Personally, If Brewster stayed and made prudent signings and started next season successfully I would indeed back him. That said, I am fearful that nex seson will hearald our first genuine relegation scrap at the business end of the season.
  6. Let's make it a bit more hostile. Poor Roscoe, who didn't break his sevice with a lucrative spell at Livingston, only got Sheffield United. Seriously, Barry, despite his stint in West Lothian, has been a great servant to the club and deserves the honour not to mention the cash.
  7. Marius is a seasoned professional with the security of another season on his contract. He's probably just getting on with his job.
  8. I tend to agree with IHE on that one. Take Gretna out of the equation and I suspect we would be battling against relegation at the momment. On the other hand, that would have added some spice to our otherwise meaningless post split fixtures.
  9. Ross County have, apparently, made some sort of approach to him.
  10. It appears that David Sutherland wants to run the club his way. That's fine by me. He's demonstrated in the past that he can do so more than competently and appeasrs, generally speaking, to have the interests of the club and the supporters at heart. hat's not acceptable, however, is having another well meaning individual with different ideas being the nominal Chairman but having his plans undermined or thwarted at every turn. If Mr Sutherland wants to run th club he should return as Chairman and do so openly in the future.
  11. I don't much like either Rangers or Celtic or what many of their fans stand for but I do make a point of supporting them both, or indeed any other Scottish teams, in Europe.
  12. Talk from the boardroom is to be encouaged talk about the boardrom is another thing entirely. When a team's fans are discussing goings on at executive level rather than on the pitch it's generally an indication that all's not well.
  13. For my sins, I'm still at work so I didn'r see or hear the interview. My comment merely referred to troublegum's quote.
  14. Good luck to Rangers tonight in first leg of their UEFA Cup semi final against Fiorentina. It's not every season that a Scottish club gets within sight of a major European final. They've take some notable scalps along the way which seems to suggest that the standard of our domestic game isn't just all that bad. The only pity is that the few saltires on display at Ibrox will be vastly outnumbered by union flags and the even more odious red hand of Ulster.
  15. That's the most encouraging statement made by a director of ICT in a very long time.
  16. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, to be involved in one interfactional fued is unfortunate to be involved in two seems to suggest that there is a bit of a problem.
  17. I couldn't agree more with the last two posts. Our efforts at securing and financing season ticket sales are of third division standards.
  18. Well done to the club but, unfortumately, such reductions in ticket prices have not had an enormous effect on the club in the past.
  19. This topic has been moved to Rumour Mill. [iurl]http://www.caleythistleonline.com/community/index.php?topic=6702.0[/iurl]
  20. It appears that our erstwhile assistant manager has been sacked by Buckie Thistle following their defeat on Saturday at the hands of Cove Rangers which effectively ends their challenge for this season's Highland League title. That may seem a bit harsh given that Buckie are still second and have won two trophies already this season. However, Shearer was, by some distance, the highest paid manager in the Highland League and had a considerable player budget by that league's standards.Expectations were, as a consequence, very high and he clearly failed to meet them.
  21. Dargo at St Mirren must be a candidate given that their return on ?100,000 so far this season has been precisely one goal.
  22. Billy Reid is a very astute manager. I can see Accies puting up a good fight to stay in the SPLfor more than a single season provided they can recruit a couple of experienced pros to supplement their very young squad.
  23. I like to think that I'm fairly open minded but I am still a long way short of being convinced that Brewster can move the club forward.
  24. I suspect that there's an element of both.
  25. Frankly, If I was a young professional footballer rather than a middle aged curmudgeon I probably would.
