I'm very pleased for Marius, although he may be the cause of much disquiet at the club he's not personally responsible for it. He must have done enough to get into the squad for the next friendly with a view to trying to force his way into the squad for the finals. If he does and puts up a decent showing will probably go in the summer transfer window which might, in the long run, be best for all concerned.
  2. Stabilty is indeed what's required but Brewster seems incapable of providing it.
  3. Great historical footage. I note that the Howden End was uncovered. When did the enclorure there go up ?
  4. Much obliged !
  5. Why is it that games between two clubs from the same town or city are called derbies when Derby only has one team ?
  6. There might be an element of breaking the bank in a struggle to reach the Premiership but I bet that the majority of the clubs that have gone into administration are in the lowest two divisions with no realistic Premiership ambitions merely struggling to make ends meet.
  7. Don Cowie's performances earlier in the season although even they seem to have faded of late.
  8. Of course the club shouldn't make panic decisions. That's why it would be better to replace our failing manager now than to be panicing about replacing him in december when we're adrift at the foot of the SPL
  9. That would be very interesting indeed.
  10. For all that his full time are still miles behind Ross County in the race for the second division.
  11. If this latest version of events is indeed true then I, for one, will be happy to apologise to Mr Brewster and Mr Bennett for my comments regarding their handling of this partular issue but I am intrigued as to why it's taken so long for this explanation to emerge. If this is true then it would have been much better PR and much more professional to have said so at the outset.
  12. I'd be happy with either Jim Duffy or Billy Reid. The latter might be a better prospect in the long term. He seems to have a good eye for a player and has acheived a great deal both at Clyde and at Hamilton on very limited resourses.
  13. If that is the truth it puts what appeared to be a scandalous decision by the club in a very different light. I'd be very interested to hear what Dennis has to say about Bennett's ltest comments.
  14. The interview, although it refers to the Stadium Trust, really sheds little new light on it. It was obvious that either Tullochs or Mr Sutherland as an individual must have guatenteed the debt to persuade the bank to agree to it being transferred from the then PLC to the trust but the debt still remains and there is no light shed on how that's being serviced far less reduced.

Phase one was never in doubt due to Gretna's implosion.
  16. The 3,561 in attendance at Almondvale on sunday must be a record low for a league match involving either half of the Old Firm.
  17. How about Dods, who seems to have fallen out of favour at Tannadice, as player manager ?
  18. Tend to agree with IHE.
  19. Quite apart from his shotcomings as a football head coach which are clear from his teams' results and performances both with us and at Dundee United, His mishandling of John Rankin and misguded treatment of Dennis Wyness demonstrate that he doesn't have the ability to manage in the wider sense of the word.
  20. My fear is that by that time we copuld be well on our way to the first relegation in the club's history.I'm afraid that the time to act is now.
  21. David Sutherland stepped in once before to rescue the club in times of great need. I wonder if he's prepared to do so again. The hand on the tiller at present is clearly in need of some guidance from wiser counsel.
  22. Maybe not, in which case they have all acted in a shameful manner. That said, there is a very strong suggestion that Brewster was the individual responsible.
  23. As has been said many times before it would have veen perfectly legitimate for the club not to offer Wyness a new contract given that he's not had the best of seasons, it would also have been acceptable to ask him to prove himself to between now and the end ofthe season with a view to earning a new contract. What's not acceptable, on any view, is agreeing a contract unconditionally and then withdrawing it before it's signed. For what it's worth, a contract for services does not require to be in writing and it seems to me that if Wyness was offered terms for a further two years and that offer was withdrawn then he my well have recourse to the civil courts or an employment tribunal. Whatever anyone may think about the merits of offering Denzil a new two year contract and there are good arguments on both sides, what happened in fact is a disgrace.
  24. Whatever lingering doubts I had about Brewster's ability to manage have been dispelled by his disgraceful handling of Dennis Wyness's contract situation. The man does not possess the ability to manage.
  25. Don't be silly it's Clach we're talking about and a whole week had passed.
