Get the long knives out
A very sensible post. If we an secure a reliable goalkeeper and an adaquate replacement for Dods during the january window I'm confident we will finish the season no worse than ninth with the possibility of a decent run in the main cup competition into the bargain.
-
Apportioning the blame ?
It's crystal clear that we need a reliable goalkeeper and a solid central defender. We should have aquired these players in the summer but didn't. I'm sure that oversightwill be rectified during the january window. The good news is that Gretna's abysmal form seems likely to ensure that we do not pay the ultimate price for our failure to replace Brown and Dods sooner.

Aberdeen -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
That's the worst perormance for many a season. We've not adaquately replaced Brown or Dods and need to do so in the january window at all costs. The only saving grace is that Gretna are rank and likely to save us from the drop this season.

Scottish Cup - 3rd Round Draw
You might well be right !

Who is least likely to win the SPL?
I'm afraid that RIG's answer is all too accurate.

U21 Rule and ICT
While the rule is not perfect it does encourage teams to nurture young, often home grown, talent. On balance, I'd be inclined to retain it.
-
Brewster in perspective.
Brewster has won more matches in the short spell since his return to Inverness than during his entire stint in charge at Tannadice. So far so good but he does need to learn to deploy substitutes earlier and to greater effect.
-
End of Brewster's playing career?
If true, it might be a blessing in disguise leaving him to concentrate fully on developing as a manager.

Managerial Round-a-bout
Stephen Kenny might be about to board the ride. The Pars board have just given him a public vote of confidence.

Reserves v Killie
Just goes to show how deep a squad we now have.

The latest from Mr Savage......
I agree with that. Every SPL side should be obliged to have a family section for away fans charging the same prices as the home fans pay for their family enclosure.

FIFA rankings are bumkin.

Richie.......
It's a hugely important decision which could have aprofound effect on Richie's future. Much better that the club come to the right decision rather than a quick one. That said, I'm sure the player himself is more anxious to learn his fate than anyone.

Managerial Round-a-bout
Chisholm would be a very effective manager for County. Then again, **** Campbell wasn't doing a bad job.

Hear hear and the same goes for the goalkeeping position.

Marius Niculae
He strikes me as a confident skillful player who has an assured touch. In my opinion he is begining to blend with the team more with each passing game. I believe that we will shortly be seeing the best of him.

Is 6000ish not about par for an Aberdeen game ?

We HAVE to beat Gretna
This will be a very difficult fixture, Gretna will be at their most highly motivated knowing that defeat to us will leave them somewhat detached at the foot of the table even at this relatively early stage of the season. We can win but only if we match them for commitment and tighten up on these defensive blunders.

DavidProctor
He played well enough to justify a start in what is now a crucial match against Gretna.

ICT -V- ABERDEEN - matchday thread
The first half hour was terrible, thereafter we had the balance of play but seldom looked to really trouble their defence. Really disappointing to lose against a less than impressive Dons team badly depleted by injury and then further weakened by the loss of two more of their best players by half time. We need a reliable goalkeeper and a solid central defender as a matter of the utmost priority. Well done though to Denzil for writing his name in the history books.

The latest from Mr Savage......
I tend to agree with Caley D on this one. If ICT are not occupying a tidy little 8,000 stadium somewhere else in town with a seven figure sweetener in the bank within the next five years I will be very surprised. The club spent a relative fortune in being instumental in opening up a valuable part of the water front and are set to reap the dividends before too long.

Inverness v Aberdeen Build Up
I would probably start Wilson with Rankin starting on the bench.
-
Craig levein
There's no doubt that Dundee United are a very different proposition now than last sason under Craig Brewster.

Inverness v Aberdeen Build Up
I've got a good feeling about this one. It's a long time since I've being looking forward to a game quite as much.
