  1. Might be something to do with the aquifer !
  2. My belief is that we are simply taking a risk although it may be that he's on some type of pay for play contact which would be the sensible approach given his injury history.
  3. On the bench initially at least I suspect.
  4. You'd need one that will hit 30 a season unless the defence gets sorted. We were always pretty solid at the back and we won games because we could shut the opposition out and nick goals here and there. We can still score goals, but our defence is rotten now. Get the defence sorted and we will get back up the table a bit. Certainly would get us out of trouble. Look at the teams around us, all of them have poor defences at the moment. I am fairly sure that we have brought in all the players of a defensive nature that we are going to, so hopefully the new additions will take care of that. It doesnt matter if we like it or not we are in a relegation battle and thats when we need experienced players and we dont have that up front, not only to score goals but to hold the ball up and link the play with midfield, some of the stikers we have may have the potential to do this but its going to be a real battle down there and its asking to much for players of their experience to do it alone. This is a big problem as I am sure the club realise we need this but it aint easy to find one. I agree entirely.
  5. The need for an experienced striker has been obvious since before the season started. I still think that Rooney has huge potential but, like the other young forwards on our books, he's not going to realise that either by playing as a lone striker or by being paired with another rookie.
  6. Barrowman was even more prolific at lower league level ! What we need is someone with SPL experience.
  7. Not sure that Andy Jackson, although he has potential, fits the desciption of an experienced SPL forward.
  8. .All four signings have something to prove. In the circumstances I don't think that we should be too critical of the club adopting a safe approach.
  9. As far as an experienced striker is concerned, Although this is an essential requirement if we are to escape relegation I tend to agree with Scotty that, no matter how well intentioned the board are, our options may be limited. I still think that Kenny Deuchar might fit the bill and would be within budget.
  10. Signing 3 players who couldnt get a look in at their previous clubs, until the end of the season...i doubt there was a substantial figure going to any of the players Add to that all three are only signed until the end of the season I would think that any signing on fees are nominal, if at all and according to this article Pavels is only here on loan anyway. According to the BBC Pavels has signed for an undisclosed fee which would mean it isnt a loan Not necessarily so.
  11. Despite some promising dealings in the transfer market the matter of bringing in an experienced striker still needs to be addressed. No matter how much Brewster tinkers with the rest of the squad we will still be in serious trouble unless we can secure a proven goalscorer.
  12. Rory could probably do a decent job for County.
  13. Crazy !
  14. Imrie has great potential. I'd like to see us extend his contract rather than look to sell him.
  15. It was pretty obvious when we signed Mijadjuks that we'd lost out on our bid to sign Pressley.
  16. Not good news in my opinion. From what I've seen of him he could be a greater liability in defence than Djebi-Zadi !
  17. and whats blacK? a ideal replacement Only if he's any good and he's appparently not good enough to get a place on the bench in a team close to the foot of English League 2.
  18. Can only be good for their development.
  19. Have to say that County were unlucky. By the letter of the lae should have been a straight red.
  20. Think that part of your argument died when the paper's name was changed from the "Glasgow Herald" to merely "The Herald" as part of a management buyout in 1992 and further solidified with a relaunch in 1998. That report is as biased as you might expect to see on a fan website. In fact you'd hope that most of these would be just a bit more objective.
  21. Morais lasted the pace surprisingly well on Saturday but apart from that he's not played even for the reserves for two months. Given that the Hamilton game is likely to be played at a much brisker pace I would be inclined to put him on for the last half hour or so.
  22. Not exactly enthused by that news. He can't even get into the Chester first team at present.
  23. Like others, I wasn't sure whether to smile or frown at the "match report" in the Herald. I know that they are Glasgow based but.....
  24. He certianly appears to have stepped up to the plate in recent weeks.
  25. I sincerely hope not. He may have potential but so do Wood and Rooney. What we badly need is an experienced striker who can bag a dozen goals in the SPL between now and the end of the season.
