  1. Excellent news, i stand corrected! Really thought this one was going to be off.
  2. If its been raining as much as it has down here then i would think the game will be called off, A waterlogged pitch from wednesday isn't suddenly going to be playable when more rain has been lying. If its off it'll be good to see the cup draw and see who we have if we beat Morton. It could even spur the players on if they reckon they can get to hampden.
  3. Dont think a fish supper should be classed as fast food. Never been but just thought they would deep fry their fish.
  4. I was looking at the table and thinking the same. Given Dundee Utd have 4 games in hand on us and are level on points they have to be favourites to gain that 4th or 5th spot. That leaves us, St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Motherwell for the 6th place and that is very much still do able. St Mirren is a must win game and if we are serious about the top 6 then we need to beat the other saints the week after also. After that we have some pretty hard games coming up ( I know hibs are dreadful but they are surely going to get good at some stage this season even if it is for only a handful of games)
  5. Has anyone read it? I recieved it as a christmas present and have just managed to get round to finishing it off. Although the book ends with him at Motherwell after our first season in the SPL i thought it was an interesting read and as i am only 24 it gave me an insight into his earlier experiences managing Coventry as player manager at the age of 31 and then again at Sunderland. I always associated him with being England captain as well but now know he only captained England 7 times out of the 70 odd caps he earned. He also mentions early in his career that players should NOT be allowed fast food, quite a change now from those chippy runs after away days now.
  6. Yes Ryan Esson has been in excellent form but so has Cammy Bell, Someone who is considerably younger and is probably a good prospect for the future. Thats why he gets in first IMO.
  7. He retaliated first!! Seriously, I'm inclined to think it would still have been recorded as violent conduct. I hope he is out for Saturdays game. We could do with him against the bigger teams and let Hogg get his debut this weekend.
  8. I think those players will still be ok to play. It says the training takes place between Monday the 7th and Wednesday the 9th of Feb.
  9. If McBain is looking to play some regular games before he decides to retire we should release him once fully fit in order for him to find himself a club.
  10. Do you think anyone did come in for Rooney? I wonder if any one came in for him at all and thats why he is still with us or maybe he declined other teams to stay with us. If Rooney had any sense he wouldn't sign for hibs until the future of Calderwood has been decided, Rooney could end up signing on for the end of the season and find himself under a new manager that doesn't want him.
  11. Golly in at 9th choice defender, ooft.
  12. I'd love to see Rory at Hibs. I'm still not convinced hes SPL material but well done to him for getting back if this is true.
  13. Fingeres crossed Sammon moves in this block and we manage to sneak Tade.
  14. Hopefully with us now hammering all of our games and with teams now needing to catch up they will soon start feeling fatigued and lose a bit of form themselves. Dundee Utd have FIVE games in hand, now i know they will probably still overtake us but after those five matches they may well be knackered. Our next two games are Aberdeen and Dundee Utd at home. I'd be happy if we could take 4 points from that and would prefere the win over Utd to widen that gap just a little.
  15. Malpas at centre half? MALPAS AT CENTRE HALF?! This is just so typical of the sort of armchair boo boys that come on here and try to tell the manager how to pick a team and pick holes when he's just doing an honest job, and then they go and make fundamental errors like this. It sickens me. It really does. It sickened me to think Tokely could play centre half....and yet he can, just as well as superman. This then proves my theory that ROSSCOE IS SUPERMAN
  16. I still think we'll finish 7th, too many teams have games in hand and they should and will catch us. I hope now that Johnny is back we can pick up some form though and at least challenge right till the end for a top 6 place.
  17. My thoughts too, Semi's seem like there could be a couple of good matches. Keep us updated.
  18. Not because he has scored half as many goals but it does put it into perspective. We can't expect to get anymore than 200k for him with 6 months left on his contract.
  19. I'd be pretty confident about Tade doing a job for us if he was to come in. There IS talent in the first division and if we can get him for a small fee then i don't see why not.
  20. I think its a safer option for him where he will get a good pay. If he is to have a good season with Hibs next season then who knows who might be after him after that. Rankin moved to Hibs and he is only a bit part player for them in a very poor Hibs team, the same thing could happen to Rooney so i don't think he should be jumping too high until he can prove he is capable of scoring goals at another club.
  21. I'm sure Hibs will be back to their usual self next season and this season is only a mere blip. Hibs are a much bigger club than us in general and i'm sure they are offering Rooney a lot more money than we can give him. I always thought his next step up would be to someone like Hearts, Utd or Hibs and then onto bigger and better things once he has proved himself there. If he is going to sign a pre contract then i say let him go just now for some cash. We done excellent keeping Ian Black for the last 6 months of his contract didn't we....
  22. Yes, he got some games in our first SPL season, and surely takes the prize of worst SPL player. Whenever he came on as sub we used to say it was worse than going down to 10 men. Yet Robbo liked something about him and gave him a lot of chances. When Robbo was answering questions on this site I politely asked him what he saw in Darran that nobody else could, and he kinda admitted he got that one wrong. We released him later that season and he failed to hold down a place at Elgin, Albion, Alloa, or Cowdenbeath before dropping down to the juniors for a few seasons with Bonnyrigg. Interestingly Paul Sheerin brought him to Arbroath this season, where he has made 2 appearances. Edit to add : I see he is down as being a defender now, which is quite surprising - he was a lightweight left midfielder for us, and I don't recall him ever making a tackle or winning a header. Interesting to see Darran playing for Arbroath, i thought he had completely vanished.
