Celtic in the cup or in the league?
Id take a semi final at Hampden over top 6 this season, its been far too long since our last visit.

Celtic in the cup or in the league?
So given that if we beat Celtic in the cup we have a great chance of getting to Hampden would you rather a win in the cup or points in the league to keep up the good form for top 6. Realistically we aren't going to win both but playing them twice in a week is giving us a great chance to take something.

Gambler Jock's Scotch Cup 5th Round Draw.
Yup pretty uninteresting draw there.

Gambler Jock's Scotch Cup 5th Round Draw.
Morton or Ayr away, but i'd much prefere a home tie against someone in a lower division. The lower the better.

David Davis
Davis was one of the stand out players in what has been a very poor season for us so far, Our 2nd worst if not the worst. I would have loved for him to stay to prove he could have been one of our greatest players but its too late for that now and hes moving on, I personally wouldn't play anyone who i knew wasn't going to be here next week so if he is available today i would be starting someone else like Cox or Morrison injury permitting. Best of luck DD for the future and i too will be looking out to see how your career is doing down south.

Time of the month?

Keeper v pitch invader
The fan has come charging up ready to kick the keeper, the player uses his speed and agility to get in there first and defend himself. Not a sending off it's unfair, well done for the manager sticking up for his player.

Boyd
Aiden McGeady has done well in Russia i thought, Although born in Scotland now playing for Ireland. I would say though that its not just Scottish players that has struggled to perform abroad. I don't recall many British players at all being a success in foreign countries and i believe this is down to our ignorance as a nation in learning new languages, either that or we just aren't good enough. How is Odhiambo doing in Turkey?

I think I'd be having to watch the game through my fingers if that was the centre-back pairing! I wonder if that combination would even manage in the first division. Our Defence seems to be very weak right now and it makes me nervous. I like Proctor but i'm starting to feel his footballing ability has gone. I hope he comes good now that Hogg is out anyway, I would much rather have an ICT player starting every game than another fairly dodgy CB whos only on loan. Assuming everyone is still injured: ---------------Esson------------------ Tokely Golobart Gillet Shinnie -------------Cox Tansey------------ ------Hayes Shinnie Foran----- ----------------Tade------------------ If Proctors back replace Golobart, If Meekings is back replace Golobart, If Proctor and Meekings are back replace Shinnie and Golobart

Surely shinnie who is a full back would have been a better choice than Davis even if he does normally play on the left. Any of these would have Been better Tokely golobart gillet shinnie Cox golobart tokely gillet Shinnie golobart tokely gillet

Terry gives five week warning or else
I have to disagree there. We were always on top. Yes, St Midden had attacks, and Esson had to pull off a wonderful save but we were the better team and deserved the 3 points. It never looked like St Mirren would go on to win it but at 1-1 i thought the game was going to end as a draw. I didn't even think Esson had that much to do, He made a couple saves but i'd expect every keeper in the SPL to make those saves. A well fought out win in the end after seeing us play better than that this season and still lose.

Tbh I wouldn't say they are too off with the poor ratings from yesterday's result. Yes we won but we didn't come close to out playing them. on another day we could have drew it easily.

Excellent result today for us. McKay was unlucky not to score straight after our 2nd and he was marginally offside when putting the ball in the net earlier in the game. It wasn't the best performance from us today and i felt a draw was on the cards but things went our way for a change, we could have easily been down to 10 men early on when Gillet handballed on the ground to stop the St Mirren player going through on goal. There wasn't many clear cut chances for either side in this game and i don't recall Esson making a real save which is good news although Thompson right at the start should have buried it instead of blasting it over the bar from around 10 yards. I was impressed again with Davis and Shinnie today, and obviously Hayes who set up the first and scored the second. Without a player like Hayes we really do struggle and as long as he stays injury free all season then i think we'll be safe.

Tade and Meekings dropped for Golobart and....McKay!

Another Loss
Maybe next time we finish 7th in the SPL we'll try and keep hold of those players that got us there instead of replacing them with young players that might turn out good in the future. I'd much rather have a side doing well than a team that looks good for the future. We messed up big time in the summer and this season we should have been pushing for top 6. It hasn't worked out for us and we just have to hope theres a team thats worse than us by the end of the year, so far i'm not convinced with two draws against Dunfermline to prove they are just as good as us at the moment. If we survive this season in the SPL we can build for next season and hopefully get back to aiming for that top 6 position.

Scotland U21s
All the home matches for the Scotland U21s are played in Paisley throughout this campaign so ive managed to get to the two home matches so far. We were the better team against Austria but just couldn't manage to get the win we required, watching the game felt a little similar to watching the national team but that was an excellent result away from home against Holland. Puts us back into 2nd place and we do seem to be producing some decent players so it is looking good.

Johnny Hayes - Opportunity Knocks
Although i agree that Hayes has the potential to play for the national squad it would be unfair for him to be selected for Euro 2012 if Ireland qualify. He wasn't apart of the qualifying campaign and has yet to prove it at that level. After the summer if he is still producing excellent form maybe bring him up and give him a feel for international football. No point doing a Theo Walcott IMO.

January Transfer Window
I don't ever want another youthful loanee defender brought in.
-
January Transfer Window
Was he not at Livingston pre season? I remember him doing alright against us.
-
Calderwood Sacked
I agree, he had a decent squad at one point with the revolution. Twellman, Dempsey, noonan, ralston, Joseph and dorman in midfield to attack was quite a team. Always fancied those players for ict.
-
International breaks
I did think he should have saved the 3rd one to be honest and as much as i like Esson theres no way he'll make the Scotland squad, even if he does like Samson hes not even going to get a game. Gordon, McGregor, Alexander, Bell, Marshall and Gilks are all seen as better keepers and Esson doesn't exactly have age on his side to be a potential back up keeper for the future.

Team for Celtic
We have used that same 4-2-3-1 formation and it won us the First division. It does work well against bigger teams where we can counter and move the two wide men of the attacking midfield upfront to make a kind of 4-2-1-3

Tade vs Rooney
I like it!
