I have supported them since I bought my humble abode in Inverness 14 years ago. When I was mocking Scottish football I was talking about the national team. Unlike the national team, ICT actually win things. :D Sorry to play devil's advocate here, Oz, but on that basis is the Scotland National team not your local national side now that you've moved here? Should you not support Scotland now? Why? I'm not Scottish, I have never claimed to be. I merely live here. If you moved to America would you support them and give up your allegience to Scotland? If I lived my life according to your logic I would have had to change my "team" a hell of a lot as I have lived in several countries during my time in the Army. As it happens I have a strong leaning towards Scotland and most things Scottish. It's not that straightforward. You're not an Invernesian so why support ICT? Why continue to support the national side of your birth but not the club side of the town you were born in? - maybe you do support your home town side but who would you want to win if they played ICT? This is really just an observation because I have been in Scotland for more than half my life and will always support England over Scotland but would support ICT over Aston Villa any day. Is there any logic in this? Probably not. We support who we support for whatever reason and people should respect that. Let's not take or give offense or criticise others' choices, but lets enjoy some banter about the choices we make and enjoy the World Cup both on and off the pitch.

To be honest, I've got a bad feeling about this world cup. I think the general standard will be poor and that England will go out at the first stage and that therefore I will have to endure the jibes of Scottish supporters who will conveniently ignore the fact that their team failed to qualify in the first place. But then I didn't think ICT would get promoted. I look forward to being proved wrong - again.

Great news. If everyone can be persuaded to sign it sends out a really good message to those TB wants to bring in that this is a good place to be. It will also mean that we need to bring fewer players in and that will allow a more focussed approach. This should allow the momentum of last season to be kept going.

Ross County. Team of the year? That's like saying the BNP are the political party of the year. They got the 5th most votes in the election and like County won nothing.

It's the end of the season and the world cup has yet to start so I thought I'd introduce a bit of nonsense. I came across the name of St Gertrude of Nivelles who is apparently the patron saint of the fear of mice and that set me wondering about other obscure patron saints and which ones could be associated with football clubs. I can think of 3 Scottish footbal clubs with patron saints - St Johnstone, St Mirren and Ross County. St Johnstone's patron saint is Jimmy or Jinkie Johnstone who many older supporters will remember as a tricky winger for Celtic and Scotland. He never played for St Johnstone but they have adopted him as their patron saint to provide a statement for the way they feel the game should be played. This encourages the fans to believe the team will play attacking football and gives a generally good image for the club. As a result St Johnstone consistently punch above their weight. St Mirren's patron saint is, of course ,the wonderful Saint Helen Mirren. As you know, Paisley is not a pleasant place but by associating itself with the fragrent Dame Helen the club immediately produces a feelgood factor by its very name. Younger fans may think of Dame Helen only in roles playing the Queen or menopausal senior police officers but when she was younger she was quite a looker - I should refrain from saying any more on the subject as Doofer may read this and tell Doofer's Mum! Saint Helen is a superb actress and the football club, by adopting her are also pretending to be what they are not. Ross County's saint is the Highland's own Aggie MacKenzie, star of TV shows such as "How clean is your house?" Being a Highland lass, she has been horrified by the state of Dingwall and decided, without any publicity, to clean the place up. Her contribution to caravan cleansing has been remarkable and has been rewarded by Sainthood being bestowed upon her. Saint Aggie has been shortened to St Aggie and that is how the nickname of the Staggies came into being. The achievement of Aggie cannot be underestimated. The sheer volume of rubbish removed from the town and surrounding area has been huge. Once removed it was shipped across the North Atlantic and dumped into an Icelandic volcano for incineration. The volume of smoke and ash that resulted from this has shut down European airspace in recent weeks but at least Dingwall is now a cleaner place. Whilst the folk of Dingwall may be delighted by Aggies activities, the Icelanders are not. To show their displeasure they have now changed the name of the volcano to Eyjahcountywonfeckall. So, can any one else think of any other teams which should have particular people being awarded a Sainthood? Or are there real Saints who should be associated with particular teams? For example, I would suggest St Jude, the patron saint of desparation and hopeless causes could be adopted by Elgin City.

Whilst the Dundee Utd team were touring Dundee in an open top bus, a number of the County Team were considering throwing themselves under one. Apparently Andy Barrowman was standing on the road outside his house waiting for a bus so he could end his misery. Finally a bus came and when the it was just 6 feet away he launched himself at it - and missed.

I am pleased to say my neighbour has a sense of humour. Rather than take his flag down he has it flying at half mast today!
