Were I to get a tatoo I suspect that it would be rapidly followed by a divorce. Tatoos are not for me but I can't fault the commitment to ICT that your's shows. Have a green dot.
  4. I see France were beaten at home by Belarus who are ranked 78th in the world. And presumably this was with a team who actually wanted to play for their country. :rotflmao:
  5. FFS. If as much hot air was vented on a Saturday as has been on this thread then what an atmosphere we'd have.
  6. Yes, he was unable to get back into position after he had taken the throw.
  7. What I don't understand is why there aren't other players who can throw the ball more than 5 yards. I appreciate that not many can throw as far as Grant used to but even 10 yards short of that would be useful from time to time. It really isn't that difficult and if for some reason nobody knows how to throw a ball maybe they should have some serious training in how to do it. Current standard of throw is probably better in the Inverness ladies team and the number of times we lose possession from a throw when in an attacking position is pathetic.
  8. I think Nick's a good prospect but lacks a bit at this level at the moment. He seems to lack a bit of confidence and ambition. At least 3 times in the 2nd half he had been put in in a good position wide right and won corners by attempting a cross which was clearly going to be blocked. His body language seem to say "job done" but on each occasion taking the defender on could well have led to a clear shooting opportunity or the opportunity to square to someone else and Hamilton will have been happy to concede the corner. And on one occasion where he did have a clear shooting chance he spurned it and squared it to no effect. With a bit more strength and a bit more confidence he could be very effective but boy, do we need Richie back!
  9. And get a suspension for a few games - that would be clever. How Dougie will laugh if he logs on and reads such stupid comments. As if he hasn't got enough to laugh about already.
  10. I think Imrie has a lot of affection for the players and backroom staff at ICT but not for the handful of our so called support who abused him. Personally, I was sad to see him go although some of his behaviour clearly leaves a lot to be desired. But if you don't like a particular player for some reason don't boo him when he's on the ball. By all means jeer and laugh when he makes errors but we all know that booing only serves to motivate players to silence the boo boys. Just because you may think Imrie's a wee nerd doesn't mean you have to behave like a nerd yourself. When Imrie got the ball in midfield in the first minute he was going nowhere. Then a small number of morons boo'd him. Immediatelty you could see the anger and determination in him as if to say "I'll ****ing show you". He did - and how! The goal gave huge encouragement to Hamilton and drained the confidence of our players. Would he have scored had he not been boo'd? Maybe, maybe not - but what I am sure of is that booing him made it more likely he would shoot - and shoot with venom. I hope those who boo'd him are proud of their contribution to our defeat today.
  11. Well, are all those folks who gave Harry a red dot going to make amends?
  12. Whilst the old firm have the money to buy up the best players from the rest of Scotland and attract good players from elsewhere, their problem is that they don't play against quality week in and week out. The failures of other Scottish teams demonstrates what the level of Scottish domestic football is and it is this level that the old firm have to play against. For the rest of the teams in the league the matches against the old firm are like cup finals and the pace of the game is usually fast and furious. That is what they are used to playing against and they simply cannot adapt to playing against sides which have a bit more composure to their game and generally higher skill levels throughout the team. From time to time they will have a decent run in Europe or another team may briefly shine like Aberdeen and Dundee Utd have but that will be the exeption rather than the rule. I do agree that the old firm have the potential to do better but I think they would have to join the English Premier league before they could hope to compete competitively in Europe (if they could qualify) Perhaps next year ICT will show them all how its done.
  13. I am glad Bobby is not playing. He is a legend for ICT and it would have been sad to see him struggling in vain to contain our current forward line. Let our memories of him be of when he was on the winning side.
  14. Rooney, Odhiambo, Duncan and the rest must be gutted to have been dropped after playing so well on Sunday - what do they have to do to get a run in the side?
  15. Disappointed to see McGregor in there after his antics at the weekend. Simulation should not be tolerated in any circumstance and by picking him so soon after, Levein is effectively condoning this type of behaviour. He should have told him he wants him in the squad but will not pick him until he can demonstrate he can behave in a more professional manner.
  16. A merger with County would find a home in Muir of Ord at the Black Isle Showground - amongst all the bullsh*t.
  17. Have all your Aberdeen mates deserted your forum and signed up here for some decent craic? How else could you get so many positive reputation points for this stream of drivel? And where do you get the idea that ICT fans are agressive? We are always extremely courteous to supporters of other teams
  18. Brilliant result which sounds as if it was well deserved. Let's hope that this is more of a reflection of how good we are rather than just one of those strange results that crop up once or twice a season. But given the first half performance against Cetic last week it looks as though there are real reasons to be optimistic. Hamilton seem to have started very poorly this season so a convincing win against them next week might be expected. How we do next week is likely to be a better indicator of how the season will pan out than either of these first 2 games.
  19. Doesn't look like Kevin MacDonald will get the Villa job now. Newcastle 6 - 0 winners today:
  20. I think the reputation button is a good idea as long as everybody uses it in the spirit it is intended. Where someone makes a particularly good post it is good to acknowledge it. Without the reputation button the only option is to write a brief reply to say "totally agree" "good post" or whatever which really adds nothing to the thread but wastes time for others reading the thread. It is also good to express a negative view of posts without putting yourself in the firing line of criticising others. If a post is in bad taste then it is good that the poster should know that others are not impressed. In general, I think it is working pretty well although inevitably there seem to be one or two good posts being marked down and some moronic or distasteful ones marked up. My gripe with the system as it is, is that you are limited to the number of buttons you can push each day. Some days there may be several comments which you would like to mark up or down, but you can't. Also, some folk will access the site only every few days or so and therefore can mark up or down less than those who access everyday. My answer would be to allocate members a plus and minus "vote" each day which becomes cumulative. That way members would be free to mark posts up or down when they saw fit but there would be little opportunity for folk to vote a post up or down just because they can. As for IHE, he seems to be the one victim of the system. Are there a small number of folk constantly voting him down just for the hell of it? He has a somewhat individual style which some folk may not like but several pretty normal posts of his which would probably not have been marked down had anybody else posted them have been marked down. Many of IHEs posts give many of us a good laugh and his matchday assessments are usually spot on. I for one would not want to see IHE change and I am sure his reputation sccore conceals the fact that a lot of positive buttons have been pushed. Keep it feckin coming IHE!
  21. It was the first weekend of a new SPL season and ICT were up against the Champions and title favourites. I opened up my copy of the Sunday Times hoping to read some considered opinion of how the league might shake up this year and, in particular, how ICT's performance against the champions suggests we will fare in the top flight - are we potential top 6 material or is it the relegation dog fight again? The match reporter was Douglas Alexander. He also had the only text on the front page of the sport section and an entire 2 page spread inside covering 6 different articles he had written. Within all that text, you would be hard put to find any mention of the start of a new season. Douglas argues that the success of Scottish football will be judged by how well the international side does and how well the top club sides fare in the European competitions. Fair enough, but that does not mean that the average fan is more interested in those competitions that on how their team do in the league. Ask a Dundee United fan whether they would rather go a round further in the Europa League than Celtic and Rangers or whether they would rather finish above them in the league and we all know what the answer would be. Alexander's articles were all about the international scene and, in particular, how Celtic are preparing. Pretty boring stuff on the whole. Of course, there is a place for this but surely not on the opening weekend of the bread and butter business of the game. As for the match report itself, again, it was all about Celtic. In 26 column inches Alexander could not spare a single comment on how the SPL new boys performed or what their prospects were. It could have been Celtic against anybody. In a report headed "McCourt Reigns Supreme" Alexander then chooses Kenny Gillet as MOM. This might seem a bit odd, particularly when the report suggests Celtic were carving the ICT defence open at will in the 2nd half. So just what was Kenny doing to justify MOM status? Well, we need to look on the ICT forum for that because during his lengthy report, Alexander fails to give Kenny a single mention! Of course, we are used to the Old Firm bias of the media but to me, this shoddy piece of journalism has hit new lows. It is worrying that journalists should write such shallow reports in the first place but even more worrying that editors in a so called "quality" newspaper let them get away with it. How was the match and the prospects for the coming season reported elsewhere?
  22. Why are folk giving Gordy a hard time here for his eminently sensible comments? My pronounciation of foreign names is not good but if I placed myself in a position of introducing guests (which the Spanish players were) then I would make a point of finding out how to pronounce their names properly. Not to do so is simply rude. Not to even try is frankly shameful and reflects badly on the club and on our famed Highland hospitality. I hope club officials apologised to our Spanish visitors for the crass behaviour of the announcer.
  23. Norwich have Delia to sort their catering - can we not get Lady Claire MacDonald?
