To be honest I'm more disappointed that County, St J and Utd all snatched late wins in games where draws might have been better for us. Utd, by the way have taken 7 points from their last 4 games which is considerably better than any of the teams in 4th to 11th place.

Just got 16/1 on Betfair. What could possibly go wrong?

Same as it was one night 16 years ago?!

Speaking of cup formats, a couple of matters have made the news today. The League Cup final will be held in November from next season. I like the idea of this tournament being done and dusted before the proper Cup starts There is talk of scrapping replays in cups. I'd be against this Thoughts? Personally I like the idea of this tournament being done and dusted before the proper Cup starts. But I think cup replays still have an awful lot of merit, as the home side has already had a clear advantage without extending that for another 30 minutes and denying the visitors any chance to then balance it out with home advantage for themselves. Plus, replays have a fair chance of being televised, bringing much needed income to clubs like ICT.

I'd expect Hibs v ICT and Rangers v Dundee to be the televised fixtures.

Something like "high feet" in itself would certainly be an indirect free kick as you describe. I might be wrong but I always thought that if the only reason there was no contact was that the victim took evasive action, then a penalty can be given. I'm sure there's a ref out there who can clarify. It's like when a forward is rounding the keeper, if he jumps over the oncoming keeper's lunge and falls down as a result, then even with no contact it can rightly be a penalty (even though fans go mental about it being a dive). Successfully getting out of the way of an offence doesn't mean the offence never happened.

Regarding Draper's "dive", remember that there doesn't have to be contact for a penalty to be awarded. Watch it again, in slow-mo, with this in mind. Having got to the ball and flicked it past Taylor, Draper then saw the defender's high studs heading straight for his leg. He took evasive action, a quick retraction of the lower leg, to prevent contact. This results in him losing balance and crashing to the ground. Note that he doesn't roll around at all pretending that there had been contact. In that scenario, I believe a penalty can rightly be awarded.

Updating a stat I showed a few weeks ago, we have taken a remarkable 60% of the available points against Top 6 sides, but only 33% of points against the bottom 6. We are actually unbeaten against the sides in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, winning 5 of those 8 games. We've done very poorly against the weakest sides, though, with only 3 wins from 14 games against the bottom 6, including a mere 1 home win from 7.

Indeed, but it would have been even better if the penalty had been like Barca's the other night. (Apologies for the commentary!)

Terrific result, one which I was hoping for but not daring to expect, even though we've had the better of them this season. I wonder how many more of our players have just been added to Aberdeen's summer transfer target list?!

Tansey's agent?

How about "farce recognition" systems!

I see Foran was in charge for the game, because Duncan Shearer had somehow managed to get a touchline ban!
-
P&J reporting that Foran has now torn his calf in training.

This balls thing is a cock up not a stitch up, but one of those butterfly effect or Sliding Doors scenarios where so many things will now go on to be very different to how they would have been if the initial draw had been completed. Different draw = different semi-finalists, different winner, different losers, different budgets for next season, impact on contract extensions or otherwise for players and managers etc etc.

I see Lubo Moravcik is the one tasked with pulling the warm balls out. Surely Celtic will have briefed him not to match them with us again, after we've put them out 3 times since the millennium. Indeed, Moravcik was playing on the first of those occasions and was wrongly credited with Bobby Mann's goal.
-
Nah, must be lower than that. 1 in 105?
-
Has Storey been officially credited with our first goal then? As far as I can see he was merely in the vicinity of the player who did put the ball into the net, and Storey didn't even celebrate as if to pretend that he'd got a touch. He'll be glad of it though, as his 1 goal in 10 games is a pretty grim stat for any striker.

Can't believe how close that score was. Just imagine what might have happened if Celtic had been facing all of Kilbride instead of just the East part!

Stupendous, audacious strike from Roberts. Goal of the day, however, has to linlithgow's at County. I'm referring of course to their second one, a great team goal, but their first is worth watching a few times as well!

He's communicating with team mates, inspired by beach volleyball I suspect. Just in case anyone doesn't know what I mean, or needs reminding:
