More to the point, it was the striker's first goal ever, at his 4th professional club!
-
Or maybe, like in England, the Premiership sides like us just don't take the competition seriously.
-
I was thinking the same thing, wondering if I had somehow missed it. Postal votes are already being cast!
-
Because there's nothing else to do except shoot seals?
-
Not sure about that - he's already 31, and injured, increasing the riskiness of a longer term deal.
-
And after this point, we cannot finish bottom.
-
For our first goal, watch the Utd defender who was with Storey when the long ball was played through to Draper - rather than play to the whistle, he appeals for offside, then makes a half-hearted effort to follow Storey and wasn't close enough to even put him off at all, when he could/should have been. An abysmal level of commitment! And later on, our throw in so easily finds Vigurs who has time and space to put in a good dipping shot, while the Utd players were, well, I've no idea what they were doing. If this is any indication of the team ethos there at the moment, you can see why they are where they are.

Last week I posted: "Some stats on goals - on the last 6 occasions we scored twice in a game, we won every time! All 12 of our wins this season came when we scored 2 or more, in fact our overall record in games where we scored 2+ goals is W12, D2, and just 1 defeat (4-2 at Parkhead). " Update: another 2 goals scored, another win!

.......or maybe it has something to do with (not) washing hands!
-
So if we hadn't lost to that injury time sucker punch when we were going for a win v Motherwell last week, we'd have our top 6 destiny in our own hands v Hearts this Tuesday.

I can only assume that you didn't realise that the "WW2 soldier" was actually a bumbling and weak character from 'Allo'Allo.....

There's no funny business going on here, but it is interesting that a postponement happens on the word of someone paid by, and probably a supporter of, a team wanting the postponement. In bad weather, an independent ref assesses the pitch. Is there a presumption that club doctors are always honest and thorough, and club groundsmen are not? Doctors do have an ethical code etc, but they also believe their patients, so when a keeper says he has got the shits really bad and feels terrible, the doc is hardly going to call him a liar! Everybody knows how easy it is to get a sick note from a doctor, even one who is not on your payroll. Just saying that there is scope for a bit of manipulation in these situations, particularly if it is remotely borderline. agree though that we don't want to risk our squad getting this bug. Plus we might have more players back by next week, so it's not all bad.

I'm guessing she's been on that independence camp outside the Scottish Parliament!

Here's something else in that vein. The evil Tories introduced the National Living Wage, giving a substantial pay rise for many Scots. On the day it was announced, Sturgeon said "it doesn't go far enough." But here's the truth - the SNP were NEVER going to introduce any such measure! I was told that in person by a senior member of the Scottish government, one of the more sensible ones. He said it really caught them by surprise, as whilst they would encourage firms to increase pay rates, they were not going to enforce any mandatory rise like the UK government did. So the Tories/Westminster did more for low wage Scots than the SNP would have done, but the SNP still make noise implying the opposite. I just wish more people could see through them.

That result wasn't good enough for top 6, and we aren't good enough for top 6. Why is that? This season's injury list is a valid excuse, but there's more to it than that. We've just had too many poor results at home (even before considering that we also went out of both cups at home to unspectacular teams.) 0-1 Motherwell 0-0 Partick 0-2 Hamilton 0-1 St J (who had 10 men most of the game) 1-1 Dundee 2-2 Utd 0-0 Partick 0-1 Hamilton 1-2 Motherwell From that list of shame, we picked up a mere 4 points from a possible 27 against mediocre sides. Just a few more points from that selection and we'd be looking seriously at top 6! The other thing that stands out from that list is the abysmal lack of goals. Wrong tactics? Lack of credible striking options? A bit of both, IMO. Some stats on goals - on the last 6 occasions we scored twice in a game, we won every time! All 12 of our wins this season came when we scored 2 or more, in fact our overall record in games where we scored 2+ goals is W12, D2, and just 1 defeat (4-2 at Parkhead). So it's a pity we can't manage 2 goals more often!

Bannigan is out with a long term knee injury. He'd fit in well here!

I'm genuinely interested to know how our resident nationalists feel about this somewhat surprising development. After years of rhetoric about equality, social justice, the word "progressive" being obligatory in every interview, "those with broadest shoulders paying more", along with ongoing criticism of evil Tory westminster austerity, they now have the chance to remedy all these wrongs are just going to leave things the way they are. Not just for one year, but for the duration of the next parliament. Sturgeon is now saying that George Osborne has been right all along, austerity is a necessary evil, and raising taxes to fund improved public services and benefits will do more harm than good. She might not use those words, but her (in)actions speak louder.

Hibs have now lost 5 consecutive games against teams other than us. What a missed oportunity we had there.

A draw today would have been a decent result for us away to County, any sort of win would have been absolutely superb, but 3-0? That's in the category of "You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"

That's one of my abiding memories from our title run-in when we overhauled Dundee. It was a midweek away game, and in the days before periscope some Morton fan had fixed a phone (or such like) to point at the goal Morton were attacking, and connected it to a webpage. Most of the game you could only really see Esson standing there, with the very occasional Morton attack. We won 2-0, and the only way you knew we had scored was when you saw our players take up their positions for the restart. Happy days!

It would be great to have Meekings back there, we've seriously missed him. Against County in particular I'd love to see him "behave in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm by shouting and swearing, challenging people to fight, uttering offensive remarks and behaving in an aggressive manner"
-
Exactly what I thought when I saw him for the first time v St J last week. Looked like a central defender thrown upfront.

Out of Europe rather tamely at the first hurdle. Knocked out of both cups by lower league opposition. Getting embroiled in a relegation struggle with no form and no real strikers. If I had a single-use time machine, it would be a toss-up between assassinating Hitler and going back to July so we could just restart this damn season.
