With Hibs now winning the cup, Hughes has had one of the best weeks of his life!

I'd rather get some of his players!

Scottish and FA Cup Finals
In fairness this lunchtime on radio Scotland it was pointed out that there was loads of sectarian singing, and flares were set off, which they acknowledged had barely been mentioned because the post-match events overshadowed those other crimes.

Scottish and FA Cup Finals
The conduct of both sets of fans was so bad that the result should be annulled and the trophy retained by the 2015 winners, along with the prize money and European place. Wishful thinking, of course, but it wouldn't be any worse a decision than various others made by our football authorities!

One of the many things missing from the club statement is something along the lines of "We will now begin the search for a new manager", which I'm pretty sure has been standard in previous announcemnents of managerial departures.

Yogi
My guess is that he's still on the payroll (until he gets another job) so he hasn't actually left the club yet - but is no longer carrying out the role of manager.

Who do I want as manager? Someone who wants to be here!

Player of the Year UPDATE
The right winner IMO, he made a big contribution and was one of our most consistent and reliable performers across the season.

Yogi Quitting?
As this is all just rumour and speculation (for the time being at least), please use the "Hughes away?" topic that has been running for a few days in the Rumour Mill.

Contract Situation
Very good point. 3 players got extensions and only Vigurs and OFW still have contracts out to them, so I think we have to conclude that Devine declined an extension and has left. He made 46 appearances in the season, just 1 behind OFW, due to the injuries to Warren and Meekings and then the fall out between Raven and Hughes. He's still young and could go on to be a good defender somewhere, but I always thought of him as the weakest link in the team.

Summer Transfer Window Thread
Nobody seems to be reckoning on us bringing in another defender or two! I'm pretty sure we will, having just lost a senior player from there. Unless he improves, I find it hard to see Horner as anything more than a versatile, low wage squad player (which is something that a team like ours does need, by the way).

Absolutely. In an interview about 6 months ago he made it very clear that whilst he would be happy to extend his loan til the end of the season, he was here to put himself in the shop window. The plus side of all this is that his success in that respect can only encourage more players to come here to relaunch there careers, as many others have done before him.

Indeed, he was an absolute joy to watch, one of the most entertaining and tricky wingers you'll ever see. Even then, many of us were saying he deserved a call up to the Scotland squad. At Dundee Utd, he learnt how to defend and became a much better all-round player (under Ian McCall, would you believe) ending up as a central midfielder and captain. Scoring for Celtic in the Champions League against Barca and picking up 17 Scotland caps probably make him the player with the most illustrious career after moving on from ICT. Best of luck to him.

Source? Not doubting you, just curious if the fees were actually published anywhere, as none of the articles I've seen mentioned this.

A Season in Review - 2015/2016
Rather surprisingly perhaps, we finished with the 4th best goal diference in the league, along with the 5th highest points tally, albeit helped by facing easier opposition for the last 5 games. Despite having spent much of the early and later parts of the season being concerned about relegation, we ended up a very satisfactory 16 points above the play-off spot! In 2012/13, we only finished 13 points above 11th place, but achieved what at the time was our highest ever league position, 4th place.

Inverness CT -V- Dundee
Today's win means our home record for the season matches our away one: W7, D5, L7, so 26 points both home and away. Home GD slightly better than away now, having both been +1 prior to today's game, Despite this emphatic win, though, we still scored 4 more away goals than home this season. I'm great fun at parties, honest.

In fairness, the manager seems to have acknowledged in recent comments that "quantity not quality" has been part of the problem this season, and the aim now is to have a smaller squad of better players. I very much hope (rather than expect!) that he will be able to bring in the right players.

There is a plan in place, I have absolutely no doubt about that. Implementing that plan to bring in the players we want and need is easier said than done, though.

Kilmarnock, Falkirk or Hibs ?
Hibs are the most likely to finish above us in the league, so I'd prefer either of the other two (but Raith would have been my first choice, for that and various other reasons). Falkirk freshens things up, is closer for us to get to, and they'd probably bring more fans up to TCS as well.

1-0 is statistically the most common football result, but it has taken until our 46th competitive game of the season for us to finally pick up our first 1-0 win! We've lost 1-0 on 5 occasions this season.

Dundee United fielded ineligible player
Sheer speculation! From the moment Coote came on, nothing that did happen in his 16 minutes on the pitch would have happened had an eligible player been there instead. Coote didn't need to score to change the game, he just needed to position himself half a yard from where the alternative player would have been and it might cause an ICT or DU player to have played a different pass and from that moment, everything is different. That's why in football these days, the result never stands. Today's ruling is outrageous! It doesn't matter that we might feel we didn't play well or deserve to win, but we all know that football matches can turn on the slightest thing. We are the wronged party here, and the punishment dished out today does nothing to rectify that and give us the chance to play against a fully eligible team. At the very least we should be entitled to replay the game, and if there is no time for the fixture to be replayed, a win should have been awarded to us.

YES!!! Fantastic night for us. A draw on Saturday is enough to secure 7th place. Oh, and we're already guaranteed to have more points than County!
