Dundee -V- Inverness C.T.
Good report, that. I see at the end it puts Draper's booking down to simulation. I thought it was for handball. He went down, either clipped from behind or just fell, I'm not sure which. but he stopped the ball with his hand, either to prevent an attack or because he was expecting a free kick to us.

For the fashionistas out there, ICT were wearing last seasons away kit (white with black trim) to avoid clashing with Dundee's dark blue.

All To Play For
Definitely our best opportunity since last season!

Forgot to say, while walking along Dens Road who was on his way to the game but Derek Adams. I resisted the temptation.

Dundee -V- Inverness C.T.
Just home from Dens too, I tell you, that 2nd half was murder. We started really well and looked pretty slick, and after 20 mins I'd have expected the full time score to be something like 4-1 to us. We had quite a few chances blasted high or wide, then Nick Ross broke through on goal with a clear chance to put us 2 up but poked his shot onto the post. Early in the 2nd half Billy's delicate overhead kick hit the bar, but after that we didn't threaten, and in fact Letheren wasn't tested at all in the 90 minutes. Unlike Brill. Two outstanding saves, both down low to his left. One late in the first half, and one in the last minute which we celebrated like a goal for us. A clever lay off by a Dundee attacker left them with a clear shot from within 10 yards, pick your spot son, extra time beckons, but somehow Deano gets a strong enough hand on it to force it round the post. Absolutely Brill. Second half we were just so disappointing, uncomposed in possession and resorting to long balls for Billy to chase in vain. Other than Brill, there were decent performances from Billy, Meekings and Shinnie. Not at all impressed with Vincent or Polworth tonight. Foran hobbled off near the end, thought he was wasting time at first but it does look like an injury. Just relieved to be through.

How much is wee Billy worth?
Think you're being very unfair there. In recent times we've been incredibly successful in retaining the players we want to keep - nearly all of last years squad, for example. Getting Billy Mckay on a 2 year extension when he was the league's top scorer? Incredible. As for the names you quote, they are the exceptions and in each case were up and coming players who perhaps didn't want to tie themselves to us for more than a season, to keep their options open. It's incredibly hard to retain top talent with the very limited budget we have and I don't think anyone can seriously complain about our success rate.

I'd forgotten how this feels.

First time we've been behind in a game this season. Do the players know what to do?

Football tops: Are they still fashionable?
I would suggest that online is the only way to get a venture like this up and running without incurring big start-up losses. The only way I can see a high street presence working at all would be to get the products stocked in other peoples shops (be it sports or fashion outlets). Your margins would be low, but you don't get involved in leases and staffing and theft and all the other associated difficulties and risks.

It's been quite a turnaround for a player Butcher wanted to get rid of in the January 2012 window.

Extending Dean Brills loan deal
This is a very random thought connecting Luton goalkeepers and Inverness, but here goes anyway - back in the 80's I was at primary school with someone whose uncle was Andy Dibble, Luton's keeper at the time (later Man City, Wales and even Rangers). At the time I was so amazed that I actually knew someone who was related to someone in my Panini sticker album.

Tel get MOM award
Terry had better watch himself - the last manager to unexpectedly make such a blistering start and lead the SPL like this promptly got sacked! But apart from George Burley's Hearts in 2005, this must be the next best start to the ever made by an non-Old Firm team. And when you consider the gulf in wages, ours is as good an achievement as that terrific Hearts side, who with Romanov's millions had internationalists in their prime like Gordon, Pressley, Webster, Hartley and Skacel.

Away wins
If the typical odds for an away win are 2/1 (ie a 1 in 3 chance) then over 6 games the chances of a full set of away wins would be one in 729 (3x3x3x3x3x3), which over a 38 week season would mean you'd only expect it once every 19 years. That can't be right, can it? My Higher matchs was a loooong time ago!

That result completes this weekend's set of 6 fixtures, 6 away wins. Can't imagine that has happened many times over the years.

They Came On Trial...
Are you asking us or telling us? Can't say I've ever heard that one before. He definitely had a trial with Dundee Utd shortly before joining Motherwell, in 2004. With the benefit of hindsight, it's very hard to imagine that Robbo would have thought Hissy and Bayne were better options than Scott McDonald!
