  1. ........after David Davis and Liam Fox.
  2. George Brislen-Hall must be the 3rd ICT player to have the same name as a Tory MP!
  3. I see there are 2 teams in the group stages that ICT have beaten - with David Proctor scoring in victories against both. Perhaps the Champions League is his level?
  4. The SFL website has a highlights video after every round - it was 30 minutes long for the first round. Hopefully they'll have Round 2 up tomorrow after the final tie tonight. http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/sfltv/league-cup/
  5. A few milestones last night : 1. First clean sheet of the season 2. At long last I saw us win a game, after a pretty miserable run of 15 matches. 3. Probably the last time we'll ever get to dish out 'banter' to Tony Bullock. As ever, he took it well. Top bloke (for a paedo!)
  6. When McCall was asked the other day about his team selection for tonight, he said that he'd be picking a team with the more important game against ICT in mind.
  7. At Denizlispor with Eric Odhiambo, it appears. Have you seen this Fetai goal celebration from his time in Denmark? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/23/bajram-fetai-goal-celebra_n_550239.html
  8. Yngwie replied to kencar's topic in Caley Thistle
He's been excellent. Our new style of play suits him, and he is vital to our new style of play. Would be great to have him signed up for the long term, but he'll want to know what his other options are - and they will all be more lucrative. I'd expect the likes of Dundee Utd to be interested, and perhaps even The Rangers. I fully expect that this will be his final season here, but I'm just going to enjoy it. Anything more will be a bonus.
  9. I see Dunfermline have just signed this defender. I have a recollection that he was on trial with us when Newcastle released him, perhaps 2 years ago. Was that him or am I thinking of someone else? Dunfermline have bolstered their pool by signing 22-year-old defender Callum Morris who started his career at Newcastle United and has played for the Republic of Ireland at under-19 and under-21 level. Morris featured in the first team pool with the Magpies, however he eventually dropped out of the picture and joined Blyth Spartans before being picked up by the Glenn Hoddle Academy. That led to Morris gaining experience with Jerez in the Fourth Division of Spanish football with the Pars signing him after an impressive display as a trialist in a closed doors game against Livingston. Manager Jim Jefferies said, “Callum is six foot three inches tall and a real competitor. He will be involved as soon as we can get clearance for him.” Source: http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/pars-sign-morris/
  10. Esson  Did what he had to do. Meekings  Well beaten in first few minutes, conceding a dangerous free kick, but played pretty well after that. Deserved his yellow for persistent fouling. Warren  Looked extremely comfortable. King  Far more solid than he was v Celtic G Shinnie  Made an important block in the first half. Sutherland   I'm no fan, but best game for ages. Ran confidently at defenders and beat them easily in 1st half. Very quiet 2nd half though. Set up both goals. His 3 shots were predictably high and wide. Several other times he cut in and passed across to teammates, declining a clear shooting opportunity. OTJ   The tidiest passer we've had since, I dunno, Paul Sheerin? Draper   Great partnership with OTJ, dominating the midfield and controlling play. Doran  Good performance, just lacked a bit of penetration. Lucky not to get booked for diving. A Shinnie   Class class class. MotM. Mackay  No lack of effort, but whatever he tried didn't quite come off. Shot tamely on the turn 8 yards out when taking a further touch or pass would have got us a goal in the 1st half.
  11. I should add that both goals were very good too, with Sutherland feeding A Shinnie both times. The first came from one of several good runs Shane made in the first half, skinning the left back with ease, then opting to roll it across to Shinnie in space who side footed it into the far corner from 12 yards. By no means a 'tap in' as someone decribed it earlier. The second ball was played forward for Shinnie to run through the defence to the corner of the box. Still had a bit of work to do, took a further touch and blasted in off the underside for a spectacular finish.
  12. We played really well tonight and the result was never in doubt. Could have scored half a dozen if we'd been a bit more clinical, and to be fair Tony Bullock made some good saves. Our midfield was excellent, and as a result the defence and keeper had a comfortable night. Arbroath were restricted to blazing shots and free kicks over the bar from 20 yards.
  13. Poll is now open.
  14. Yes it's quite an exciting prospect. But we do have some prior experience of Arsenal youths. For every Jack Wilshere there's a Dean MacDonald (now at Carshalton Athletic), and for every Ashley Cole there's a Kerrea Gilbert (now at Shamrock Rovers).
  15. "This is the beginning of a partnership with Arsenal that will help their younger players gain first team experience with Inverness Caley Thistle in this season and the future." Let's hope it's better than the Sheffield Utd partnership!
  16. Not at all, Shane clearly isn't a winger in the conventional sense. But here's a different school of thought to consider. What if Terry has concluded that Shane simply isn't good enough to be a striker for us? And rather than ditch him, he's giving Shane another chance by trying to mould him into a different role? Pure speculation on my part. But one thing's for sure, Shane's shooting is atrocious, every attempt seems to get blazed high and wide.
  17. I think the key difference could be that Roberts is used to playing as a lone striker. Not sure why we took Winnall when he wasn't that kind of player and we are so rigid in sticking to one up front.
  18. At least if tonight doesn't go our way, these results mean we won't get the negative types describing us as the laughing stock of Scottish football.

  20. Sierra Leone - Mo Bangura! We might not be seeing him at TCS again though, as "the new Henrik Larsson" has been sent back to his former club in Sweden to re-learn how to play football.
  21. Wyness? Bayne?
  22. That statement doesn't preclude us from loaning in the aforementioned striker though, which would have been sanctioned before Nick got injured.
  23. Who's next, McBain or Hart? Brown's a pretty good standard of back-up keeper to have, although having said that, I haven't seen much of him in recent years. One article mentions that he had a trial with Southend Utd a few weeks ago.
  24. If only our opponents would field a team of cones........
