  1. What on earth happened, did they call up Lionel?
  2. I just googled Bellend to find out, but the results weren't particularly helpful, sorry.
  3. I'm not really a golfer, but I played there once on the company's annual golf day. We all gathered round the first tee, as the Managing Director (about a 12 handicap, and ultra competitive) stepped up to get things underway. Muscles rippling, testosterone flowing, you could see he was going to whack it as hard as he could and impress us all. He then swiped wildly and hit the ball with the underside of his driver. It bounced of the grass, shot up in the air, and ended up a couple of feet behind where it had started. What followed was an embarrassed silence, as nobody really knew how to react appropriately to the big boss playing a shot like that. But a few seconds later one person just couldn't stifle the laughter any longer, and we all pissed ourselves for ages. Shortly afterwards, I went to my bag to get a ball, and found the packed lunch (sandwiches and fruit) from the previous years' event. Not so funny.
  4. Given the name RobsonisGod, it must have been about 2002. Unless it was 1999 and you were being ironic.
  5. Agreed. I think 8 of that starting line up been with Rangers at some point. And I still find it pleasing to see an (ex)ICT player in the national team.
  6. I first came to CTO in the late 90s (2nd division days) when the company I worked for introduced this newfangled thing called the "internet". The forum was relatively quiet in those days, and a key part of it centred around identifying pre-match pubs to meet up in, along with directions/parking for all these exciting grounds we were often going to for the first time. I recall a sudden upsurge in activity on Feb 9th 2000 with visitors from other clubs' websites congratulating us.
  7. Oh ****, it gets worse. Word on the street is that the notorious Summer Wine Crew are going, and they ain't happy about these other factions muscling in on their territory. Apparently they will be popping a few scones and drinking loads of tea before wading in to the action, armed with their full arsenal of dated and predictable jokes. Stay well clear .
  8. Like it. Surely, though, Rosscoe's ultimate recognition will come from a much higher authority than we are talking about here.
  9. On that basis I suppose you have already earned the honour of being an OBE. Obese Beer Expert.
  10. Like yourself Scotty - enabling ICT fans worldwide to have petty but heated arguments on a public forum since 1994
  11. We played them on 4th August 1985 (Billy MacDonald testimonial) and on 3rd November 1986, if I remember rightly! But the Aberdeen players mentioned date it much earlier than that, perhaps 1978-81? If it had been 1980 onwards I'm pretty sure I would have been there and would remember it, but I don't recall anything.
  12. The size of the pay-off being offered usually persuades the player to have his contract cancelled.
  13. The only way to end this sort of argument would be to play our games behind closed doors. As an added bonus, there would no cause for dissatisfaction with the pie kiosks, the stewarding, the announcer or the car parks.
  14. What rumour, the one you just started?! Given that we were unsuccessful in the last few days of the transfer window, this kind of move would make sense so I wouldn't be surprised. The lad just needs to stay free of injury and it could be a great step for all concerned.
  15. I'm sure all ICT fans are delighted that he sorted himself out and is back in football management where he belongs. Everyone deserves a second chance. Well done to Huntly too for taking a risk that many other clubs wouldn't. I'm sure they won't regret it. And if Huntly have another Ross Tokely, Pele knows where to send him.
  16. Only 10 minutes left now. Thought we might have got even a decent loan deal.
  17. Ooooh you bitch!
  18. No need to apologise, you were absolutely correct with that! His mail order wife is more your age though.
  19. I note that the wee one appeared just after Last of the Summer Wine finally came to an end new beginnings and all that. Fantastic news, well done to all 3 of you. And you know where to come for advice on bad parenting.
  20. True - perhaps because it's further from Inverness. Anyway, I'll be there.
  21. That wouldn't have been anywhere near the top of my list of preferences. Mind you, with Lennon's managerial record in cups.....
  22. Perhaps he should follow Barrowman's example and perform in a way that keeps him well under the radar of any decent clubs.
  23. Very sad news. Newer fans might not know Alison, but there was a time when she and her family travelled around the country week in week out, following the team with great passion, and were known to pretty much anyone who attended away games. Condolences to the family.
  24. Back then, we went down to Lancashire for a pre-season friendly and lost 2-1. Back then, we were full of optimism after a fantastic and unexpected win in our first league away game. Back then, we followed that up with an insipid performance the following week, losing at home 0-1 to an unfancied Hamilton side. But back then, we had Brewster instead of Butcher. And that's the difference that matters most.
  25. He's definitely got a talent and you can't fault his effort. But I'd hope and expect that he's being advised that if he doesn't develop physically over the next year or so he'll end up on the scrapheap, or worse still, at Elgin. To be fair I think he does look a bit stronger than he did last season.
