  1. Your new position is........ seat 47G on the first flight home.
  2. Well done, but if you'd shopped around you might have got 7/1.
  3. Where or what is Grosblie? Sounds German. There's been a big red Grosblie banner at quite a few of the games in this tournament, and I recall the very same banner appearing frequently at the last few tournaments too.
  4. Absolutely, the world's finest teams haven't been able to get the better of them, despite England being faced with the handicap of playing with a different ball to their opponents.
  5. I like the word vuvuzela. It sounds like a polite nickname a lady might have for, well. "Put your jabulani in my vuvuzela". :(
  6. :( Dire as England have been, they just need to beat wee Slovenia and they will be through, probably topping the group.
  7. We have the makings of a team with enough star names to rival Brazil 1970. And with plenty of penetration from the strikers. Coach : Claudio Blisco Felix Deito (GK) Terto Bleto Chibbio Wandereto Mantardo Yngwimo Raldo DonaldoSantos Adildo Renegadildo
  8. Why don't we just reproduce the vuvuzela noise by releasing swarms of angry wasps into the South stand?
  9. Interesting that he still consults Steve Paterson but probably a sensible thing to do, particularly regarding the pros and cons of playing abroad.
  10. It's all gone wrong for them recently. Big egos in the dressing room, no respect for the manager, players dictating where they want to play, a few of the team including Ribery recently questioned by police as part of a child prostitute scandal etc etc. I bet on Italy and England because the odds seemed very generous.
  11. The way things are shaping up, assuming England top their piss easy group they are likely to play: Last 16 : Ghana/Serbia or Australia QF : S Korea/Greece/Mexico or Uruguay These teams are no mugs, but a route all the way to the Semi without having to face any of the world's top 10 ranked sides?
  12. France weren't even trying.
  13. Robert Green can now relive his finest moment over and over again in Lego. http://creativity-online.com/work/the-guar...and-legos/20403
  14. This can't be right, they've completely missed out Dundee FC. :D
  15. This, along with 2 home fixtures over the festive period, is good news for gate receipts.
  16. Followed by a trip to Tannadice the following week, a Sunday fixture.
  17. Well, look at it this way. Since 1966 when England fluked it with home advantage and a shocking decision, they've won FA whilst the WC and Euro winners have included: France Spain Germany Italy (who we all acknowledge as good teams, but why should they fare any better than England, who have had the strongest league over the last 20 years and many superb players?) But also: Czech Netherlands Denmark Greece England haven't even reached a final in all that time, despite qualifying for the vast majority of tournaments. I would also add that recent World Cup semi-finalists since England last got that far in 1990 include: Sweden Croatia Turkey S Korea Bulgaria Since Spain broke their duck a couple of years ago, there is surely no major footballing nation to have achieved so little.
  18. With all the teams now having played, this World Cup is shaping up to memorable only for the vuvuzelas. Matches seem to be lacking in entertainment, and most of the fancied teams are looking quite average. The only plus side of the mediocrity is that the outcomes of games and of the tournament as a whole are very unpredictable. It's also fair to say that England will never get a better chance to end the decades of spectacular underachievement, with an easy group (even if they make a bit of a meal of it) and as straightforward a route to the semi finals as a team could realistically hope for.
  19. "Cancelled due to mix up of arrangements at Crewe" I'd like to know what happened there.
  20. I'd be pretty sure its the latter, unfortunately for you.
  21. Well at least there's one less pundit for us to worry about. Ticket tout I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few more pundits bricking it at the moment. I'd also be interested to know if the BBC are equally generous in awarding match tickets to the family and friends of employees.
  22. Perhaps we need a public enquiry to determine whether this report took too much time and money.
  23. I see that undercover journalists for The Sunday Times managed to harpoon the governments of quite a few minor nations who vote with Japan on whaling. It will come as no surprise to Scotty or anyone that they confirmed selling their votes to Japan in return for aid, expense allowances and prostitutes. There's a short version of the full expose here. Sunday Times
  24. I think this is quite a neat fixture list, allowing you to view by date, team, group or stadium. Fixture List
