  1. I've also read it 6 times, and my interpretation is that no compensation is actually payable, but Partick will get their lawyers ("who believe they have a very good case") to take it to court, and then when they lose that, take it to a further appeal, leaving us in limbo over the summer.
  2. If I can be a bit picky, IMO every one of the 11 who started were exceptional that night. But I recall that Bavidge was terrible, and I'm not sure if other 2 subs even kicked the ball.
  3. I'm not sure but this might have been in the days of just 3 players on the bench in the cup, when teams often took a chance by not having a sub keeper. We had Superman though to step in if needed. The subs we used that night to waste time were Bavidge, Byers and Glancy.
  4. Nice easy draw, putting aside the wee hiccup under wee Robbo in the equivalent tie back in 2002-ish.
  5. I'll close this tomorrow and announce the results, although there seems to be a clear winner. As things stand Mark McCulloch is the only player without any votes. Wasn't he our captain that night?
  6. And a penguin supping cocktails?!
  7. I disagree. I think that up until now, the power of the bigger clubs might have led to them getting off more lightly. But this change removes the discretion (or favouratism) any panel would have, and can only result in more consistent treatment.
  8. I see this depressing comedy gold has been pulled by the BBC for legal reasons, following the arrest of someone featuring in the remaining episodes. And Bullet now lives in London, is called Bullwinkle and has 3 legs.
  9. Makes it very clear what happens if you field an ineligible player, which has got to be a good thing.
  10. Wilkie was rubbish as a striker, a fish out of water. I think the only time that tactic had any real success was against us, because our defending against him was just embarassing.
  11. Yes, against Annan. (Montrose was the Challenge Cup.)
  12. I hope he does well and gets a game once in a while. Must be so boring always being a sub goalie.
  13. I think I've mentioned before that when Terry Butcher was at Rangers around 1990, he was right behind me at a Motley Crue gig. He left early, and I don't blame him.
  14. 0844 calls costs a maximum of 5ppm. Around 2ppm of that goes as a kickback to whoever owns the number, which I suspect will be Ticketmaster rather than ICT. Edit to add - at least 0844 numbers are a vast improvement on 0870 and 0871 numbers.
  15. I have absolutely no recollection of us loaning Golly to Livi, as mentioned in that article. Presumably he was totally out of contention at that point with Hastings the clear first choice.
  16. There's always the patron saint of dodgy keepers, St Ivel.
  17. I think we'd all reached that conclusion a couple of days ago! I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the fact that Nick Clegg has aristocratic ancestry, went to the exclusive and expensive Westminster School, then Oxford Uni where he joined the Tory Society.
  18. Katherine Jenkins doing the Canadian anthem? Fine pair of lungs.
  19. I believe Russell Duncan is currently taking legal advice.
  20. He simply doesn't have the power to do that. With that in mind, maybe he has taken the view that if you can't beat'em, join'em, which is the pragmatic stance the LD's took regarding the coalition. You mentioned earlier that they had choices. They didn't. There was only one offer on the table. Perhaps things might have been different if Brown had accepted defeat and stood down a few days before he eventually did.
  21. Stunning, I could watch that one over and over again. But the real credit for that goal goes to Deportivo's Djalminha, from a 3-2 win at the Nou Camp about 10 years ago. And yes, I have way too much time on my hands.
  22. In Paraguay this week. "> " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  23. Renee has some eccentric views but I'm fairly sure this one is sarcastic. Am I right in saying McGuire helped get Arbroath relegated this season, helped get ICT relegated last year and before that helped get Dunfermline relegated? He's just the man for a relegation fight!
  24. Great news, well done to all involved. But no room for "Terry" as a middle name? :D
  25. A pint of whatever he's having.
