  1. Being played at Witton Albion? That's Northwich/Manchester Airport sort of area I think.
  2. Suarez knew exactly what he was doing and his team are in the semi-final as a result. Great instinct decision by him, he'll be a national hero for that.
  3. I have an answer to the World Cup question that is more puzzling than "why were England so shite?" Grosblie is actually short for Grosbliederstroff, a village of 3,000 inhabitants in the Moselle region of France. It is right on the German border and has changed hands a few times over the centuries (hence the Germanic name). The banner that has been to most games in recent tournaments is owned by a German who lives there, and he also takes it to Bayern Munich games.
  4. I don't think so. With such a high risk of disease............they wouldn't go near him.
  5. Jimmy Greaves, Jimmy Hill. More reasons to enjoy England's failure. All together now: We Hate Jimmy Hill, He's a poof, He's a poof. Classic.
  6. I love that one of the rather dejected WW2 airmen. One of the greatest "FAIL"s of all time.
  7. That gives me the impression that these trialists might be wingers then. I think "the next Jonny Hayes" just means unearthing a player we've never heard of who goes on to become a star player for us.
  8. Will this be the first time we've had royalty at TCS since Wyness left? Looks like it won't be the first if the Real Valladolid game takes place on the 3rd. Two Royal teams in 4 days. Does anyone know how you pronounce Valladolid anyway, is it along the lines of Vayadolleeth?
  9. Nope. Their official site has an article about their Scottish tour, based at Dunblane Hydro. Fixtures are : Amistosos en Escocia * 3 de agosto: St. Mirren - Real Valladolid. * 5 de agosto: St. Johnstone- Real Valladolid. * 8 de agosto: Kilmarnock - Real Valladolid. * 10 de agosto: Celtic - Real Valladolid.
  10. The Cross Bar
  11. It turns out the officials called that one absolutely right. Within FIFA's Laws of the Game, Section 30 Subsection 18 Para 7(d)(iii) clearly states that "ALL of the ball must be at least a foot over the line before the referee can even consider awarding England a goal" Having David Will inside FIFA for all those years was not without benefits. :(
  12. To be fair, England actually showed that they can play reasonably well for 90 minutes. (90 minutes spread over 4 games)
  13. Does this mean England's scheduled victory parade won't be happening now? And what about the knighthoods?
  14. I'm tempted to start a poll as to who you want to see replace Capello. The choices I have in mind are : Graham Taylor Steve McLaren Craig Brewster
  15. And they're dancing on the streets of Grosblie tonight! England have been practicing penalties for the last 5 weeks. Perhaps they'd have been better spending their time on the basics, like defending.
  16. If you want Strathspey to improve, why not sign the whole Muir of ord team?
  17. Loads of England fans at the USA-Ghana match. ;)
  18. To be honest I didn't NZ really deserved to be there, when you consider the standard of opposition they faced to qualify. Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji and Bahrain. Wow. But you can only beat the teams that are put in front of you, and I'm pleased and surprised at how well they did at the finals against some pretty good opponents.
  19. Do you want us to send food parcels, or just money?
  20. Anyone seen Chick yet?
  21. I'm thinking of developing a website to generate your Korean name. You would enter your name, and the site would then generate a random 3 name combination of: Lee Park Ji Yong Kim
  22. Why were they playing in a square? Oh I see.
  23. I drove past a Burger King earlier this evening. Outside there was a big board advertising a promotion where you can win the chance to watch the World Cup Final (on TV) with Jimmy Greaves. The place was empty.
  24. Here Erm, and the answer is?
  25. You can just about sum up the tournament so far by looking at the continents, with only a few exceptions. The Africans have been a big let down. Asia/Pacific will go home with a fair amount of credit The South Americans have been very good, and must be responsible for more attacking than all the other teams added together. The Europeans have been pretty dismal.
