  1. So has Ossie Ardiles. Predictable but unbelievable all the same.
  2. There's now a 15 minute video interview with him on BBC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/8367075.stm
  3. Ideas requiring proof of age, identity etc are very impractical unfortunately. Invitation only? I suppose that could be achieved by creating an invitation only forum that only the "best" posters can access. It has its merits, but there are obvious downsides of creating a two-tier site, alienating those not selected to join.
  4. Ireland have stolen Scotland's "heroic failures" crown, leaving us as mere failures.
  5. Good to hear the the service from the staff shop remains absolutely excellent. So was Mike Smith right that cost savings could be made here?
  6. I take it you are not going to the final then?!
  7. The P&B complaints forum has been mentioned a couple of times. It has its merits in allowing users to air their views on what is acceptable, but the downsides are: - the users seldom agree on whether a complaint is valid or not. - a lot of people here would be reluctant to post or comment on a public complaints forum when their view is out of line with others How do you overcome those issues?
  8. That'll be one of those "no cancellations" special rates!
  9. The whole transfer is declared null and void, and Niculae comes back to play for us? If R_I continues to live up to his name, I would sincerely hope that the club know what they are doing here. Surely? Please?
  10. Well it's been getting a lot of press coverage, so unless the players can add illiteracy to their long list of shortcomings....
  11. There's one of those family pubs there, used to be called Brewsters in fact. The staff were badly organised and completely demotivated. And you had to take your shoes off. Thankfully a change of management soon followed.

Think we got about ?30,000 for Proc and then got him back for a fraction of that.
  13. I have some recollection that a few years ago we came close to bringing in a keeper from Arsenal on loan. The deal apparently fell apart when we refused to offer a guaranteed starting place. Can anyone remember who the keeper was, and when this happened?

There was some Romanian chap who we apparently got some Euros for. And we sold David Proctor to Dundee Utd. Not sure where he is now. Most of the players we have lost were at the end of their contracts and either had something lined up elsewhere (eg Dods) or were not wanted by the club (most of the youngsters).
  15. It'll probably say "Former Scotland Assistant Manager" !
  16. Which probably means, like most jobs in Ireland, it's actually funded by the EU!
  17. The salary has been reported as being in the region of ?300,000 + bonuses. Clearly that is not going to attract the top tier of managers. But it is still a remarkable salary for picking the team 10 or so times a year, when the Prime Minister runs the country every waking hour, for less than ?200k.
  18. You mean Jimmy Calderwood? :010:
  19. Levein may well be the best Scottish candidate, but he has a secure job at Tannadice with a seat on the board too.
  20. Just thinking, Walter Smith's Rangers contract expires in a a few weeks and it remains to be seen whether they can afford to renew it. Would you take him back?
  21. Here we go again. With Burley set for the chop this week, who should replace him? There doesn't seem to be any obvious choice. Strachan would surely have been favourite if the SFA had done the right thing when the last qualifying campaign ended, but he is now at Middlesborough. Even Souness has ruled himself out, saying that not even the likes of Wenger couldn't do anything with this team.
  22. Hasn't he just been given a contract extension to 2012? And presumably if he goes, Butcher goes too.
  23. County have placed adverts in the press today, to recruit new directors (ie bring in new money). This is exactly what Dundee did to find the guy who is bankrolling their latest spending spree. In a big advert with the strapline "Ross County......more than just a football club" they boast about their Academy and stadium. The key paragraph is "Our current business model has worked in taking us to our current position, but importantly this model requires re-engineering and input from outwith our current operations to allows us the opportunity to grow" We've got our best ever chance of winning the first division but won't be able to go up to the SPL unless someone gives us a loads of money very soon. Anyone else tempted to apply?

Did I hear right that Thierry was playing for Raith yesterday? Has he been without a club since he left us? He ought to do pretty well at this level.
  25. :dancing03: How did you get on scouting at Murrayfield today?
