  1. You've also got to consider non-Marius related business. Crowds and season ticket sales have been dropping, no cup run last season, improved contracts for players. Every season we need a cup run and net profit from transfers just to break even.
  2. I'm seeing some of our other rejects instead : Dods, Messi, Gudjonssen etc

I think this is the first time I have agreed with an entire post of yours!
  4. Gershwin
  5. For some reason I'm picturing David Sutherland screaming "Smiffy, I told you we'd accept 500,000 POUNDS!"
  6. Can't believe they have published our invoice and the bank transfer instruction! Can anyone read the letter from Mike Smith? I think it says we accept compensation of 500,000 Euros.
  7. ?400k for Niculae v ?600k for Noel Hunt. We certainly got a better deal than Utd did, considering Hunt scored twice as many goals, caused defences about 10 times more problems, and is improving every season.

Gordon Brown's day just got worse :015:
  9. Greater Manchester council are currently considering imposing a cinema age limit of 18+ for any films that include smoking. Which means the likes of 101 Dalmations would be adults only.
  10. I don't think transfer fees will be the problem, it's getting players willing to come here on the wage offered that will be the obstacle.
  11. Story on BBC from Lincoln manager Peter Jackson. Have we ever signed a player in such unusual circumstances? "Jackson was sitting in his office at the training ground earlier in the summer when he noticed a bloke hanging around outside his door. It turned out to be a Romanian who wanted to know whether the Imps would be interested in signing him. Jackson, ever the gentleman, took the player's CV and told him to come back when pre-season training started. "I put it in the bottom drawer and forgot about it," Jackson told me. "But a couple of weeks later he was spotted running around the training ground with his wife on his back." The player's name is Adrian Patulea and his persistence has now been rewarded with a trial at the club. Patulea scored a hat-trick coming off the bench in his first game for Lincoln."
  12. I think the judge got this one absolutely right, but it's a case where there are no winners. And as for Max, to be aged 68 and spending your afternoon in bed with with with 5 uniformed ladies... :022:
  13. And he was dismal, as he was for us far too many times last season for a supposed star player.
  14. And further down it says he is signing for Arsenal! Quotes a fee of 400,000 Euros, which I think is about ?300,000. But then says we wanted a 20% sell-on clause, but agreed to a fixed 100,000 Euros instead, which is hopefully on top of the initial fee.

  16. It's not that, it's the fact that he started a thread criticising the board for a decision that it transpires he would have made himself. Zero credibility.
  17. Well I'm not going to argue with both of you! Y....yappy little mutt
  18. Let's look back at your recommendation back at the time :
  19. I remember seeing "highlights" of Dia's appearance. It was like you or I play. Fair play to him :021:
  20. Roscoe23, it's easy to criticise, so how about you tell us who you would have appointed instead? Mourinho?
  21. He was just very smug in confirming that he and Pele would be appointed at Aberdeen.
  22. V is a tough one. There's Vidlin in Shetland, but I don't think there are any on the mainland.
  23. Bennet has confirmed that we received, but rejected, a "realistic" offer from Kaiserslautern. Also says it is more likely than before that Niculae will be with us for the new season, but I wouldn't read too much into that. My interpretation is that we're holding out for a bit more money, but know that he will be going there. In the meantime he won't be featuring in case he gets injured and scuppers everything, or in case his suitors see him play and realise that he isn't actually anywhere near as good as his international status suggests.
  24. Err, what game are you playing?
  25. I would suspect that the decision to withdraw him from the Denmark trip is because a deal has already been done and is just being finalised.
