  1. Neither politicians nor businessmen ever really stand down for family reasons.
  2. I don't think commitment was ever a problem for us, it was more a case of lack of belief, confidence and organisation. But what a rapid turnaround!
  3. 2-1 :007: then 3-1 :003: Blackie A high scoring game is no surprise given the way we have been playing recently.
  4. Sweeping generalisations and sterotypes from me : Men are more rash, aggressive and drive faster. Women are dangerous in different ways - more hesitant, and have less control of the vehicle. Statistically men have more accidents, but only because they do more mileage. Women have more accidents per mile driven.
  5. Q. Has Yngwie got a life yet? This was in the line of duty many year ago, and leads onto another unanswered question. I was helping value the assets of the mill, which had just gone into receivership. They had several of these massive yarn machines, 30 yards long. The next day I went back and they were all gone! A witness had seen several lorries turn up in the night, and a very large team of people set about dismantling the machines and loading them up. He called the police but they did not respond. The machines were never seen again, but the word in the trade was that one of the directors (who happened to be a freemason) nicked them and flogged them to a contact in Syria.
  6. I did once, but not for long. I was being shown round an old textile mill in Huddersfield, when we came across some baby pigeons on the floor in an unused part of the site. My guide instantly set about stamping them all to death in a frenzied rage. He didn't like pigeons.
  7. I make it 13 : 9 SPL 3 Scottish Cup 1 League Cup but I might have forgotten some.
  8. Anybody at home would have been better.
  9. Where do the club get the players' shirts printed?

Crikey, what happened at half time? I suppose we must have had a weaker than usual team out, with the first team fringe players featuring v Gretna instead. But still, no team should concede 7 goals in 45 minutes.
  11. What the heck is the truffle shuffle? Is it the same as the 5 knuckle shuffle? Now there's an image..... :010:
  12. Thousands of folk standing up and leaving at the same time is far more dangerous than them just standing stationary. At Ibrox they combat this danger by assigning each fan a designated departure time, staggering them from 75 minutes onwards.
  13. Just keeping the boards tidy. I even checked the definition of the non-ICT board to see if it could stay there! Who'd be a moderator :029:
  14. As the thread got moved just a few minutes after it was created and very few people had seen it, I exercised judgement and did not leave a linky thing on the previous board (which was the Non-ICT board, for discussion of footballing matter relating to other clubs) God I feel like Hugh Dallas :029:
  15. It's great, you get to move threads like this onto a more appropriate forum :004:
  16. In the west stand on Saturday, when there were about 8 fans and 4 stewards, we got told to sit down. Naelifts asked a steward if he would apply that rule if he was stewarding the south stand. The steward had a look a them standing, and quite happily admitted that he would just leave them to it, which seems to be what they are trained to do. Inconsistent and unfair? Yes. But if you put yourself in the position of a steward faced with hundreds of folk standing, you just wouldn't bother, would you?
  17. I think you should stick to tin cans, and leave the football tactics to the experts! Mind you, Rosco has played in pretty much every position, did he not have a shot in goals once?
  18. Most of them are still around, but post less frequently than they used to. In some cases, that's no bad thing! What about the teenager called Big Kyle who was a prolific and entertaining poster for several years? New user name, or has he discovered girls?
  19. Can I just remind everyone to be careful about what they say regarding the alleged actions of people involved in this incident.
  20. Can't believe I forgot Bayne. Out of sight, out of mind!
  21. The remarkable performance of Don Cowie in his first exposure to top flight football just goes to highlight the significant contribution that County's coaches and talent spotters have made towards our success over the last 10 years - much more than our youth system ever generated for us. McBain Golabek Hart Hislop Rankin Cowie All players that have moved to the sunny side of the bridge and made a significant impact for us. Add to this the fact that Wilson, Hastings and Morgan also had spells in Cabbagetown, and you have the most successful example of a feeder club I can think of. Who's going to be next to advance their career in this way?
  22. Link didn't work for me, but basically someone has added that Hagi has been linked with ICT as Director of Football. The person who added that comment on Friday night has IP adress 84.66.236.131, which also recently edited Malkowski's entry to say that he signed for ICT on loan. :sherlock:
