  2. He has some Esso coupons.
  3. Uncanny, those last two!
  4. If I can offer a bit of professional advice, it's not a great subject to do at Uni. A career in accountancy is great and may well be something you want to aim for, but a degree in it might not be the best way to get there. It's often reported that accountancy graduates make the worst accountants. And what are you gonna do with an accountancy degree if you have a change of heart and realise it's not for you? It's not very adaptable, and doesn't give you the more general and transferrable skills that other subjects can offer. A Business Studies course usually includes some accounting modules, and is probably a better option (and is more interesting). And if it's still accountancy you want after Uni, it's the professional qualifications (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) that get you places, a degree carries very little weight in this line of work.
  5. I lived in Lille for a year and went to a lot of their games. They were terrible at the time and narrowly avoided relegation that year, but I recall a good win over the Marseille team that won the champions league. I still look out for their results and occassionally see a live game on Setanta. My dad used to take me to Roker Park when we were down visiting his relatives in that part of the world, so Sunderland are my "English team". I remember once we sneaked out of a wedding, into a taxi, and made it in time for kick-off. There weren't any other kilts on the terraces that day. Never been to the Stadium of Light though.
  6. He's a terrible footballer. However, he has a strong physical presence and wins the ball. Just like Bobo Balde, he can be effective when he remembers his limitations and quickly passes the ball to the nearest teammate rather than trying to do something he is not capable of.
  7. Who do you consider to be the midfield deadwood?
  8. An imposing defensive presence and ballwinner is urgently needed. I hear Raith would be happy to get Marvin Andrews off their wage bill. However, he puts his church and faith healing above his football and would be unlikely to move away from Fife. I wouldn't be surprised if we make enquiries about Sol Bamba, but Dunfermline would be looking for more than a nominal fee.
  9. Most fans would have been on the way to the game today when Setanta had a feature on ICT's remarkable success story. They interviewed all of the club's most influential people : Charlie Christie, Graeme Bennet, Alan Savage, Ross Tokely....and CaleyD! Luckily I have a widescreen telly...... :022:

Did that, and the poll now appears. However, it didn't register my votes. I got a "success" message after submitting, but it didn't take me to the poll results. I went to them afterwards and my votes were not reflected. Oh, and in the vote for 3rd place, No1 in the drop down list is Mark Brown.

In that very spot I get "Poll not available. This may be because you are not logged in, because there are no current polls, or because voting is now closed for this poll", even though I am logged in.
  12. :015: I'm sure I've heard a Mileson interview where he says that Alexander will have a job for life at Gretna. Wasn't a recent interview, mind!
  13. Today was not Rory's fault and he was no worse than usual. But other than that I cannot muster any effort to defend him, having been pointing out for over 2 years that he just doesn't have what it takes and will end up in the Highland League.
  14. And to be honest we got off lightly. After 10 minutes I was saying that our defence was looking really shakey, and that problem continued throughout the game. if we don't replace Dods we will have a relegation struggle this season. No presence upfront either, but the lack of player availability should resolve itself soon. Well done Mikey Fraser, an excellent, solid performance, his best yet. Good effort from Richie Hart as well, we at least started to get near their box when he came on. But Charlie has a lot of thinking to do, and transfer funds will be required.

    Club Nickname

A nickname is not something you choose, it just sort of emerges. Just ask my old classmates Pongo, Gerbil, or Syph.
  16. Must remind you of living in the Borders!
  17. If you have to blame anyone blame the SPL, who put together the rights bundles and associated conditions in such a way as to maximise their revenue. Which then leads to more revenue for clubs like ours. And from a viewers point of view, there's never been so much choice. Win win!
  18. Well done guys! And there was me thinking I'd done well to be about 1,400th! (Although I didn't start playing until week 3)
  19. From BBC : "Kelly is now being linked with a move to Kilmarnock. Gretna, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Dundee United have also been linked with the central defender. Former Carlisle player Kelly requested a transfer because his partner is keen to move back to the North West of England." Next!
  20. Yes, he was excellent. But he went back to Europe, Holland or Belgium I think.
  21. Do you know who our current manager is?
  22. If it's competitive games, I think it is Aberdeen, Elgin and Berwick. Arab4ever, which "big" team have ICT finished above in each of our 3 years in the SPL? :016:

    Joinville

Surely a central defender shouldn't look lost or be out of position, regardless of language difficulties. Would it be fair to say that if he was only 5'11" he wouldn't even be an amateur footballer?
