Covid hits us in yet another way. The ban on travelling outwith local authority area for the lad to make trips home to his parents house seems to have been a decisive factor here.

Indeed! But when it is a decision by the Scottish Government that prevents us from attending ICT games then it’s inevitable that there will be some crossover into politics.

FACTS is NOT well understood, Scottish Governments own research found that only a minority of people knew what it stands for and fewer still know the required action for each letter. It was also their decision to adopt Hands Face Space in Scotland so if you think that campaign is inferior you are criticising them.

We had a pretty good 2nd half which was encouraging, but sooooo many poor touches, passes and crosses throughout the game.

But isn’t that just a good example of the Scottish Government making us different just for the sake of it, when there was nothing about the English tier system they were basically copying that was unsuitable for Scotland? It just causes unnecessary confusion and achieves no benefit. At least they have now withdrawn the “FACTS” advertising campaign that few people understood, and quietly adopted the simpler and clearer UK slogan instead. Not that it’ll make much difference but confusion and inconsistent messaging are not good things when you are relying on the public knowing what they should do.

Sadly adherence to the rules is pretty poor, which in turn may be because there is pretty much no enforcement of the rules, with no punishment even for various high profile breaches. If you are relying on the public sacrificing a bit of their liberty and happiness on what is seen as being an optional basis, it’ll be a long time before we get crowds back at games.

I also forgot Dougie Imrie. We reportedly paid £45k to Clyde for him then got £25k for him from Hamilton a few years later. He and Rankin might be the only players who have had transfer fees on joining and leaving ICT?

Players I can recall we have paid a fee for, with ballpark numbers based on my memory of media/internet speculation. We very rarely announced or confirmed fees. John Rankin £65k Adam Rooney £50k iain Stewart £30k Bobby Mann £25k Martin Glancy £15k There might also have been smaller/nominal fees paid for Danny Williams, Steve Hislop, Richie Hart, Markus Paatelainen and others, but not sure. I’m sure others will be able to add to this.

Curry actually came on as a sub midweek, as most of Sunderland’s first team was unavailable due to Covid. They’ve had to postpone their next 3 games so he might not get further chances any time soon.
