a cap for Esson
i couldn't agree more. esson saved us from a hammering yesterday. i still don't understand why aberdeen (not that i'm complaining) let him go. a far better goalie than langfield and he makes the scotland squad fairly regularly.

Dundee United chairman slagging us off
if the 25000 glory hunters that went to hampden turned up at tannadice every fortnight, he might be able to balance the books. it isn't fans of other clubs responsibility to pay the inflated wages of their team.

Daily Record coverage
In terms of coverage it was extremely poor and to not even have a picture of the trophy being lifted was ridiculous, it doesn't matter if we won the league with two games to go or not it still warrants at least a picture especially if you take into account that Livingston won the Third Division before their final game of the season but even they got a picture in the Winner (not quite the full team but still a picture) It is even more baffling when you look at todays Sun and we're spread over page 10/11 which no one has picked up on yet. If you get the chance go and buy one, you'll be able to use these, if you can't get one let me know and I'll post it onto you for your scrapbook for your grandson this alone should set alarm bells ringing at traynor towers. an english paper with more widespread coverage of scottish football than the record!!!! what a joke... if i want to read about ict, i have to emulate my grand parents and read the p&j and the sunday post. there's more chance of trophy lifting pics in the peoples friend than the record. it's not fair to call it the daily ranger as it has equal coverage of both of the ugly sisters, and far too much at that. never mind, hopefully the courier will do something special tomorrow.

Just been on North Today....
this started a few years back when stv swallowed up grampian tv. a lot of people said then that it would be the end of regional content on the box. even they couldn't have foreseen how bad it has become. the opt out for regional news on north tonight consists of aberdeen and the highlands or dundee and tayside!!! ffs the highlands warrants a news programme of its own considering the size of the area. unfortunately, commercial pressure just leads to substandard media content and now the highlands are treated as an afterthought. case in point: mfr; a once proper local radio station swept up by a media giant and now is so bland it could be any station in the uk!! rant over... C'MON THE CALEY!!!!!!!!

Missing the SPL?
It was for that very reason that the Premier League was formed in 75/76. That could well happen again, although many 1st Division clubs would argue they would rather be in a "meaningless" SPL than a "competitive" 1st Division. One problem with reconstruction is that many SPL clubs outwith the OF don't want it. They would rather have the prospect of "extra" home matches with the OF and hence increased gate money. Add to that they would get less cash from Sky and ESPN, then you have a recipe for status quo. But, not many people like Status Quo!!!!

QOS -V- ICT : Post-Match Thread
It isn't "definitely our league" yet as, mathematically, several others can still win it. I agree that we are clearly the best placed and favourites for the championship, but lets not get carried away, in case we get left egg on our face. That said, it was another huge step closer today. The management and players need to keep the focus and not look any further thatn the next game - which is another difficult one against the Pars. I'm getting very tense as we get closer, hoping for the best, but still fearing the worst!! Mathematically only two other teams can win it. ARITHMETICALLY only two other teams can win it.
-
Are County and QoS now out of the title push?
Pars are already out of it. The best they can do is win all games and reach 61 pts. They would also need to get +22 goals to go above us. I totally agree with you but on paper they're still in it until it is mathematically impossible for them to win. In the words of the great Chic Young, "don't you mean arithmetically impossible?"
-
Are County and QoS now out of the title push?
Ross County are probably out of the race!!!! Too many games in too short a time will kill off their challenge. As for QoS, ask me tomorrow night.

If we beat QOS.
Why do you not like the overconfidence? This question may be answered by anyone who feels the same way, I have asked it a few times now and no-one seems to be able to give me a sensible answer. I'm confident with out being to over confident! I'm sure everyone here thinks we will win the league but at the moment it could only take for us to draw 1 game out of the next 3 to make it a last day decider. Like I said on another thread Sat is Dundee's best chance to drop points as I feel if they beat Partick then they will go on to beat Morton and Raith twice. We don't want to get to above ourselfs or cocky thinking it's in the bag as it could come back to bit us in the arse like it did to Dundee and their over confident fans. Lets take it one game at a time, starting on Sat! If we win on Sat that would be a huge step towards the title! 7 is my lucky number!!!!

Ryan Esson
Agree 100% I would go so far as to say we would have stayed up. i'd go as far as to say we're lucky to have him! definitely spl class and didn't get a fair crack at aberdeen.
-
Ryan Esson
Absolutely. Ryan is a very good keeper....and i have a lot of faith in him Cant say the same for Fraser, who i thought was p1sh and a liability. I too agree we may have stayed up had Fraser not been put in goals them last few games to flap about as usual!
